…And the other 10% I can’t do anything about anyway.

Don’t sweat the small stuff. (And it’s all small stuff!)

  • Beth July 26, 2011 at 07:03 pm

My mother told me that once because I worried so much. Unfortunately it only increased the problem because I decided if I just worried about almost everything I could keep it from happening. Not the effect she was looking for. :)

  • Ann July 26, 2011 at 07:56 pm

What you think about expands. Sometimes I think the more you worry about something the more you act to make it so. If you think you are poor and worry about how poor you are, you will act on those beliefs and live like a poor person no matter how much you have.

If you worry about your health you will surly find something bothering you, a headache or backache etc.

I really try not to worry as I have found that it never helps the situation.

I really like this one :) . Thanks for posting it!

  • Janet July 26, 2011 at 08:32 pm

what is with all these lame posts lately? are you on vacation?

    • Crystal July 26, 2011 at 08:43 pm

      Hi, Jan C.!

No, not on vacation — I am finishing up the final editing of my book today so life has been anything but a vacation! :) I shared a few quotes a few weeks ago and hundreds of people have been writing in saying these are their favorite posts so I decided to start sharing one most weekdays as an encouragement and inspiration for those who like these quotes.

If you don’t like them, feel free to just skip them. Not everything here will help everyone, but I hope everyone is able to benefit from at least a few posts everyday. If not (or if you feel like my blog is becoming lame), there are many other blogs out there. I’d be sorry to have you go because I know you’ve been reading here for a long time, but I completely understand that I can’t always please everyone.

      Thanks for sharing your viewpoint.

        Crystal,

I hope you don’t let people like Janet get to you. You are doing far more good posts than “lame” posts. I also like that you keep things positive around here, though I’m sure you have had your share of criticism or wanted to respond in kind at times. Thanks for staying above the negativity, and encouraging all of us. I’ve lived in Minnesota and Maryland while following your blog, so I know you are helping others like me, all across the country. Keep up the good work!

        Jessica

PS–I’m looking forward to reading your book!

        • Crystal July 26, 2011 at 09:44 pm

Thanks for your kind encouragement, Jessica! You blessed me tonight!

        Crystal,
Thank you for sharing these inspiring quotes…I think you do an amazing job with your blog even with how busy you are, you still make time to show us the best deals on a daily basis! I think these quotes and some of the other things that you share with us, will only make your blog better and those who read it will become better. I really wish people would understand and see that! I can’t wait for your book to come out and looking forward to purchasing it. Is there somewhere we can prebuy your book?

I love the quotes and this one made me laugh.

      Seriously Janet?

    • peever July 26, 2011 at 10:39 pm

If you’ve read this blog for any amount of time you would know that this is an inspirational blog and if you think the quotes are “lame”, then perhaps you should find another blog to read.

Keep up the good work, Crystal!

  • Heather July 26, 2011 at 09:10 pm

oh this is great! i may have to take this from you :)

  • Amanda July 26, 2011 at 09:11 pm

    • Crystal July 26, 2011 at 09:45 pm

Thanks so much, Amanda! And welcome, I’m glad to have you here!

  • Ashley Bradford July 26, 2011 at 09:23 pm

I totally just needed this! Thanks for posting! I have been worrying tonight over something that I have no control over and it may not even have to do anything! Time to set the worry aside and just enjoy living!

“if you are looking for a way out consider a name change. In the old testament, prophets were the ones who talked about the future, and much like wordless, what they foretold was bad. The only way you could remain in good standing as a prophet was if your predictions were infallible. Err once and you were forever banned from making future prophecies (Deut 18:22). Using this standard, wordless are certifiably false prophets.” Ed Welch, Running Scared: fear, worry and the God of rest

    • Brooke July 26, 2011 at 09:56 pm

Wordless should be worriers. The quote is found on page 52.

  • Tami July 26, 2011 at 10:09 pm

I would love to receive these inspirational quotes in my inbox every day! They always seem to be just what I need to hear.

  • Kris July 26, 2011 at 10:30 pm

This is such a blessing to me. I’ve been worrying all day over something that is actually pretty insignificant! Praising God for His little reminders… & thanks to you for all the work you do.

  • Liz July 26, 2011 at 10:37 pm

    Hi Crystal!

Thanks for sharing this quote today!
Of all days, today is when I needed it the most. I have been worrying about something all day and my sweet fiance’ reminded me that what I am worrying about may not even come to pass. I think God used my fiance’ and your blog to remind me that He is in control and He opens doors that man can’t close and closes doors that man can’t open.

Thank you again for everything you do through your blog!

    - Liz

  • Sarah July 27, 2011 at 01:26 am

I have been enjoying the quotes :)

  • CJ July 27, 2011 at 07:32 am

I always just thinking of worrying as working through all the possible outcomes of something, which helps me deal with what might come. I think it’s productive as long as you don’t let it consume you.

  • Ann July 27, 2011 at 07:42 pm

Please keep the quotes I love them !

  • Carol @ Carol's Critter Corner July 27, 2011 at 10:49 pm

I so agree. I worry about everything so I try to picture things in my mind and in a positive way. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes I can’t control the anxiety but we carry on! :-)
