KMart: Double Coupon Event through June 25, 2011

FavoriteLoadingAdd to my favorites

by Crystal on June 18, 2011

KMart sent out an email this morning saying they are doubling coupons up to $0.99 through June 25, 2011. Supposed, there are no restrictions on coupon usage for this event, unlike their past events.

Check to see if your store is participating here. I’d also suggest calling your store to verify it, as well.

If your store is participating, you’ll need a Shop Your Way Rewards card to get this offer. Sign up here for free if you don’t have one already (you can also pick up one in-store).

Since the details are a little sketchy on this, I’ll try to update with specific deals and details as I know more. If you know anything official or have a link to more info on their site (I’m not finding anything there), let us know!

Thanks, My Coupon Expert!

My store is on the list so I just called to verify and they said nope. :( Super bummed!

Megan June 18, 2011 at 5:07 pm

Ashley-
Call your KMART back and request for them to call corporate. My mom works at my local KMART and her boss said he did not know anything about it, but when he called corporate they informed him that YES that store is participating and they will not recieve the information on the sale until Sunday 6-19-11 with their signage change packet. That or maybe try calling back tomorrow.

Cher June 19, 2011 at 10:32 am

My K-Mart in O’Fallon, Missouri is doing it!! Going there today :)

Christine June 18, 2011 at 10:03 am

I don’t know if you can use it with double coupon days, but there is also a $5/50 coupon available on the swagbucks slider. You can get the coupon and 14 SB’s!

melissa June 18, 2011 at 11:19 am

@Christine
What zipcode did you use to find that Kmart $5/$50 q??

Christine June 18, 2011 at 9:53 pm

It was on the swagbucks homepage. If you don’t have an account you can register. There’s a slider near the bottom where you can find it if it’s still available. It looks like it can’t be stacked with other coupons for this deal though :(

I have a shop your way rewards card from Sears. Do I need a separate one for Kmart or can I use the Sears one at Kmart?

Deidre June 18, 2011 at 3:51 pm

You should be able to use the Sears one at Kmart. I use my Kmart one at Sears all the time.

Tiffany Salvia June 18, 2011 at 10:24 am

My store is on the list! I don’t have a binder system though so without a matchup of some sort it’s almost impossible for me to shop it! Thank you for letting us know!!

Allison June 18, 2011 at 11:04 am

My store is on the list, but when I called a Kmart associate said they were not doubling coupons. Anyone else have this problem? Who generates the list? I am wondering if it is worth calling corporate or if list is just not 100% accurate?

krista June 19, 2011 at 11:42 am

I would call corporate. My stora manager got nasty with me and said she didnt care what corporate said and she was the manageer and she would do what she wanted. Well i guess not because I called yesterday and corporate is making my store do it.

There are a ton of “fine prints” for this. I got this off another website. I hope this will help to shed some light on questions:

Kmart announced that it is doubling manufacturer coupons up to $0.99.

That means coupons from $0.01 to $0.99 will be doubled. For example, a $0.25 coupon will double to $0.50. A $0.99 coupon will double to $1.98. But a $1.00 coupon will be valued at $1.00.

Looks like it’s basically the same terms as their Doubling Event last February.

■Can’t purchase more than 4 of the same items using double coupons (e.g., you can’t use more than 4 of the same coupon)

■Only use one coupon per item purchased

■Can’t stack with Kmart Savings coupons or store coupons

■Excludes BOGO offers

■Must be a Shop Your Way member (but it’s free to join in store)

■Only valid at participating stores.

All the fine print:

Participating stores only. Kmart will double manufacturer coupons with a face value of 99¢ or less. Amount of credit from doubling a coupon cannot exceed the current retail price of a single item. No cash or in-store purchase credit will be awarded for any amount exceeding the retail price of the item. Limit 1 coupon for each item purchased. Only 1 coupon will be doubled per item. You may only purchase 4 of the same item using double coupons. Excludes Buy One, Get One offers, Kmart Savings coupons and Kmart Store coupons. Coupons do not apply to sales tax. Offer excludes products prohibited by law, including but not limited to alcohol, tobacco, and prescription medication. Not valid on non-merchandise, federal or state regulated items, prior purchases, Lands’ End, Sears merchandise rung on Sears registers within Kmart and kmart.com. In the event of a return, coupon savings may be deducted from the refund. Exclusions apply. Please see store associate for details. Sears Holdings (Kmart) reserves the right to modify or cancel this program at any time.

I just called Kent WA and they said it starts on Sunday and is only Sunday/Monday. They said ALL manufacture coupons up to $0.99!

Cheryl June 18, 2011 at 12:13 pm

My store over phone thought it was from the 19th (Sunday) through the 25th. The first time I called they said no. The second time I called and mentioned I was a rewards member they said yes.

Willy June 18, 2011 at 12:55 pm

If you don’t have a rewards card you should get it from a cashier not online… I think the cashiers get $.50 for each person they sign up.

Kaity McCormick June 20, 2011 at 1:08 pm

They don’t get anything if you sign up with them. They just get to keep their jobs.

Willy June 20, 2011 at 2:17 pm

I have a friend who is a cashier at Kmart and he tries to get us (his friends/co-workers) to sign up because he gets money for each person that signs up… maybe it’s different for each store?

Tffany Steen June 18, 2011 at 12:56 pm

how does the double couponing work.? Do they take up to 99 cents or does your coupon have to be below 99

Kathy June 18, 2011 at 1:03 pm

Since the ad says “Now thru 6/25/11″ I went there today … just a few miles from my house … store clerks had not heard anything about double coupons so while I was at the store I contacted Customer Service … they told me that the sale starts tomorrow … but since I made a special trip they are supposed to be mailing me a $10 coupon … quite honestly, it wasn’t worth the trip for what few items I found … but if I do receive the $10 coupon, it will end up being a better deal for me … won’t even try the next time they double … Kmart just needs to close it’s doors … it’s like a ghost town …

Michelle J. June 18, 2011 at 1:16 pm

Sorry, for the silly question, but I’ve never been able to shop a store that doubles and don’t know what doubles up to $0.99 means exactly. Thanks!

Rachel June 18, 2011 at 10:40 pm

If you have a coupon valued at $0.25 they will take $0.50 off. If the coupon is $0.99 they will take $1.98 off. And so forth. Hope this helps :)

JRFrugalMom June 18, 2011 at 1:41 pm

I will be honest and say that although the phrase brings back great memories from when we lived up north, it brings back nightmares of the rare double coupon events at Kmart here in South Florida.

jodi adams June 18, 2011 at 2:14 pm

agreed! It’s not worth the trip, plus everything at the 1 Kmart in St. Pete is way overpriced on everything.

Darcy June 18, 2011 at 1:59 pm

I called my local store here in Cedar Rapids, IA and the lady I spoke with there had no idea. I called the main customer service number 1-866-562-7848 and she had no idea, but then she transferred me to Retail Customer Relations 1-800-549-4505 where I talked to Miguel who, after calling our local store manager, did verify that per the email the manager received, this double coupon event does start tomorrow and does not have a limit in terms of the number of coupons you can use.

SO…good to know haha, but it certainly took a bit of work to clarify! I didn’t find anything on their website either. I basically never shop at Kmart because of the higher cost and lesser selection, plus their normal coupon events limit to 5 coupons and a minimum $25 purchase. So maybe this event will inspire me to shop there more often.

mom2 June 18, 2011 at 2:49 pm

My store is on the list of participating stores so I called to make sure that there were no restrictions, like it said. They had NO IDEA what I was talking about, they were not even aware of such an event? Ummmm…….not sure whats going on.

amy June 18, 2011 at 4:12 pm

I called my store nearby since they were on the list and they had no idea what I was talking about. They said they are not doubling any kind of coupons.

Abbi June 18, 2011 at 4:29 pm

I called my local store (Portage, IN), and the sales associates didn’t know anything about it, but patched me through to a manager, who read the flyer over the phone to me, and confirmed that their store was participating.

Elizabeth June 18, 2011 at 4:44 pm

I spent two hours getting things (had my 3 month old in tow) and I got the register and none of my coupons doubled. After the ghetto cashier chit chatted to her ghetto manager they were still cluelass. Then they called the big manager when I refused to leave and he says it starts tomorrow (Sun). Agh! I then asked them to keep my items under the couter and I would return tomorrow since I was getting no where today. Like others have said, K-Mart is way overpriced and seams to only carry one or two brands of particular food items. I did get good deals on deoderant (mostly travel sizes) and some laundry supplies but really didn’t find it worth my time and now I have to go back!

Terry June 18, 2011 at 5:49 pm

I might take my chance and go……I hope I don’t regret it! The last time I stepped foot in a K-Mart I was back in a corner looking at irons and someone came up behind me with a clip board trying to sell me windows/siding. I just wanted to get an iron and get out. Couldn’t get rid of the person – sooooo annoying!!!

Elissa Jones June 18, 2011 at 6:41 pm

If the coupons says “DO NOT DOUBLE” can they still double it?

Ashlee June 24, 2011 at 12:53 am

Yes it will double if it still says do not double but it has to be a coupon for an ad in the paper or a mag. I am an asscoiate & I know corporate will not allow any coupons printed from the internet or using are own kmart coupons for the event.

Michelle @ The Coupon Engineer June 18, 2011 at 7:01 pm

Typically K mart in my area is much more expensive than other any stores. The selection wanes, customer service not so friendly, and most associates seem uninformed.

So even though they double coupons up tp $0.99, I find the products there to be $0.50 to $1.00, more than stores in the same area!

Rhonda June 18, 2011 at 9:36 pm

I just checked with my K-Mart here in KY and they said they are running it through the 25th for the Rewards cardholders. Great benefit!

Just Trying To Save Money June 19, 2011 at 12:56 pm

All of my stores have closed but there is one about 40 minutes from us and I may hit it up since we will be over that way tomorrow! I did do a list of match-ups for the ad for Kmart that has some double deals! I will add more as I find them if anyone wants to check them out!!

http://justtryingtosavemoney.com/2011/06/kmart-ad-match-ups-619-625-plus-doubles/

Koree June 19, 2011 at 2:56 pm

Rhonda where in KY are you?

Cassandra June 19, 2011 at 4:45 pm

I went today and was able to get tic tacs for free. I also found the Seattle’s Best coffee singles there so was able to get a couple of those for free. Plus I found a Kmart coupon near the capri suns for a free box of capri suns if you spend 25 on groceries and health and beauty. I used that coupon first when I checked out so that my total before coupons was more than $25. I also got Chinet plates for 40 cents, and Sunny Delight for 50 cents each.

Mary June 20, 2011 at 11:28 pm

I went today (my first time couponing at Kmart) & it was a great experience. My cashier at customer service was super nice & all of my coupons double, with the exception of those that would have been over the amount. Those coupons price adjusted flawlessly. I was able to use multiples of the same with no problem also : ) If they have another one of these, I’m going back again!

Rhonda June 26, 2011 at 12:21 pm

Went to my local K-mart yesterday and they were having some type of event and handing out $5.00 off $50.00 cpns plus double up to .99 I got
6 Hamburer/Tuna Helper 1.00 each .75off 3 = .50 each
3 B.C. cake mix 1.00 & 3 B.C. Frosting 1.67 3 @ 75 off 2= 1.17 for cake & frosting
2 Hormel Chili 2 @ 2.00 .55 off 2 =.90 for 2
2 Haribo gummy bear 1.25each .35 cpn= .55 each
Malt o Meal 12oz cereal 1.15 each-1 cpn on 2=1.30 for 2
2 sugar free kool aid cannister @ 2.50 each-1.00 cpn each= 1.50 each
12 jello (3 different flavors) .50 each-4 cpns @ .55 each=.13 each
2 gardettos 2 @4.00- 50 cpn= 1.50 each
2 corn pop 2.00 each- .70 cpn = 60 each
1 crystal light candy 1.49-50 cpn= .49 each
2 act mini popcorn 1.00 each- 1.00 cpn=.50 each
2- 2 liter sundrop @ 1.00 each- 1.00 cpn on 2=.50 each
Bought bunch of baby formula and cereal clearance (I do home daycare) that was close to expiration & some of my son’s favorite cereal not on sale
6 arrid and arm & hammer deodarant/anti pers. .99 each=5.94
free in store cpn for capri sun 10 pack for $20 purchase
5 off $50 in store coupons
total was 47.81 total saved with on sale, clearance and coupons was 77.87.
My store had a limit of 4 of each item, but as long as you bought a different flavor (example I bought 4 each of cherry, lime and orange jello and different kind of hamburger helper) I was able to use all of my coupons. Also had a great cashier, that always helps.
