I did this deal last week, and still had that coupon for a free five pack of Zyrtec. Totally made $5.99 in ECBs!

Crystal June 16, 2011 at 4:09 pm

Woohoo! A free $5.99 is even better!

Michelle @ Simplify, Live, Love June 16, 2011 at 4:11 pm

Yea! Thanks for posting this. I went to get this deal and they were out so I got a raincheck… this is even better than the $2 coupon I printed previously.

Desire' H. June 16, 2011 at 4:20 pm

I’m new to CVSing….do you have to pay anything at register for this deal ?

Nicki June 18, 2011 at 12:03 pm

Desire’ you would pay .99 plus tax at the register, unless you have any other CVS ECBs that you can use (like cash) to pay for it. It is still a really good deal!

Lacey June 16, 2011 at 4:27 pm

I have a question. I got this deal already at CVS. If I go in and get a raincheck for when they get them back in, can I use this coupon again and still get the $5.99 EB even though I already got this this week? I’m thinking yes because they will have to manually give me the EB, but just want to check.
Thanks so much for this coupon!

Crystal June 16, 2011 at 4:36 pm

I think this deal has a limit of once per card.

Lacey June 16, 2011 at 4:38 pm

I’m sorry. I ment to say another week. This week it has a limit of 1 per card, but if I go in next week or another week, will they know that I already got this deal, or will it be allowed because the week is over.

Jackie Patterson June 16, 2011 at 5:35 pm

I *think* that they won’t issue you a raincheck for the deal because you have already purchased one deal this week. When I have gotten rainchecks in the past they always scan my card first to see what offers I have still available.

Carrie June 16, 2011 at 9:19 pm

Even if it worked that would seem like exploiting the raincheck system to get around the rules, to me.

katie June 17, 2011 at 12:21 am

With all due respect, PLEASE do not try to “Take Advantage” of this through misusing the rain checks.

If even 2 out of every 10 couponers do this, it could ruin the entire Rain check program with CVS (or Wags if it was the case)

I have no problem with someone getting their fair share (or many if there is no limit). Thanks so much! I’m happy for you that you got your Zyrtec for this week :)

Melissa June 16, 2011 at 4:52 pm

it wont let me get to the screen to print the coupon :(

Clare C. June 16, 2011 at 5:02 pm

I bought the Zyrtec yesterday since we needed some allergy meds and thought free was good. I wish I’d known about the coupon then. Oh well….

Angela June 16, 2011 at 5:05 pm

I can’t get the coupon from the link I go to walmarts site. Help!

Natalie June 16, 2011 at 5:06 pm

The link takes me to Walmart.com. I don’t see a coupon anywhere…

Carmen June 16, 2011 at 5:09 pm

FYI-CHECK your email and local paper…

Some people got a 30% off entire purchase coupon in their email
(only NON-sale items, however)

Our local paper today has a $5 off $20 purchase coupon
(not valid with other CVS coupons)

Joy June 16, 2011 at 5:11 pm

Can anyone point to where the coupon is on the site? I can’t find it anywhere.

Carmen June 16, 2011 at 5:44 pm

I don’t know if this link will work for you:
http://coupons2.smartsource.com/smartsource/index.jsp?Link=ENVQONY4GCVAE

I got directed to a Walmart/Zyrtec page, then I scrolled down to the bottom, allowed pop-ups, and clicked on an orange “GET $5 coupon” button.
good luck!

asmith June 16, 2011 at 6:59 pm

It was on bottom left hand corner for me

Felicia June 16, 2011 at 5:20 pm

I can’t find the coupon either :(

Kat June 16, 2011 at 5:49 pm

I know my cvs is out of these… can i get a raincheck and still use the coupon and get the ecbs? How does that work? I’ve never asked for a raincheck here before, but I know my Walgreens said no RRs for rainchecks.

Kim June 16, 2011 at 9:21 pm

You can get a raincheck and still get ECBs. When they complete the raincheck form, they will write the code from the circular on the raincheck and that’s how the cashier will know to manually issue you ECB when the item is in stock.

mandy June 16, 2011 at 5:57 pm

There’s also a $4.00 off 1 MF coupon in the 04/10/11 RP insert that doesn’t expire until 7/31/11 (if I’m remembering correctly); not as good a deal, but still a money maker – profit $4.00! :) Wish this deal wasn’t limited to one; I’d be back to CVS tonight if it wasn’t! :)

Kim June 16, 2011 at 9:24 pm

That coupon is for 24 ct or higher :(

Stacia June 16, 2011 at 6:08 pm

I am quite new to CVS, and I couldn’t find the information I am needing at their website. Question…. If I have multiple coupons for the Zyrtec (several computers in the house) will they accept them in one transaction or do I have to do several transactions and I will only be able to get 1 x ECB? Also, I then use the ECB on a separate purchase, correct? Thanks!!! Looking forward to learning & saving $$$$$.

Sherri June 16, 2011 at 8:35 pm

If you buy multiple packages of Zyrtec, then you can use multiple coupons in one transaction. However, you will only receive 1 ECB no matter how many you buy, since this offer has a limit of one. The ECB will print out at the end of your receipt, so you can use it on any future purchase.

MaryEllen@TheDealScoop June 16, 2011 at 7:34 pm

Oh good! I’m glad my store was out of these last night! Now I can make $5 instead of the $2 I was going to make!

Tracy June 16, 2011 at 8:25 pm

I was able to print the coupon BUT it expired yesterday 7-15-11 so I don’t think it will work for me and I am not gonna try it. Oh Well

Ashley June 16, 2011 at 9:20 pm

It is June (6th month). It expires next month.

Carrie June 16, 2011 at 9:21 pm

yesterday was 6-15 not 7-15

Tracy June 16, 2011 at 9:53 pm

Too Funny! Thank you Carrie for the reality check! I have been working 12 hr days n must b very tired But the good news is I dug them outta the recycling bin and will b using them tomorrow. Bahahaaaaa I feel Goofy

Heidi June 16, 2011 at 9:33 pm

Hey Tracy: Does the coupon expire 7-15 or 6-15? Because if it is 7-15 like in your comment you still have another month and can still take advantage! Good luck!

Carrie June 16, 2011 at 9:21 pm

coupon wouldn’t work for me in Explorer but it worked in Chrome.

Thanks! This will go great with the $5/$20 coupon we lucky Chicagoans got today in the Tribune!

mandy June 16, 2011 at 9:33 pm

oopss, so sorry, I didn’t realize in my comment earlier that the $4.00 coupon I mentioned was for the 24 ct size and not the 5 count. :) This is now making me wonder…is this a different deal…I just went shopping at CVS yesterday and bought the 24 ct size @ $5.99, use the $4.00 coupon, and got $5.99 in ECB’s back. Since this is a 5 ct deal, would this maybe mean I could still try for this deal? Help! Thanks! :)

mandy June 16, 2011 at 9:41 pm

Actually, I just double checked my coupon inserts and my RP 04/10/11 insert has a $4.00 of any (1) Zyrtec product, and it doesn’t specify a count, although it does say it excludes trial size. Is the 5 count pkg considered trial size? Maybe our coupon inserts are run a bit different? I’m in Orlando, FL. Sorry for any confusion I may have cause :/

mandy June 16, 2011 at 9:43 pm

Oh, and I didn’t buy the 24 count, I DID buy the 5 count size, I quickly read the 24 hour on the pkg and thought it was the count…LOL, I think it’s time for me to go to bed! :)

Amanda June 16, 2011 at 9:39 pm

So I printed the 5 dollars off and I have a 30% off cvs coupon, which one do I give to the cashier and will it work? Or will I have to add something else to the purchase?

Jen June 16, 2011 at 9:49 pm

Your 30 percent off is likely only on non sale items unfortunately.

Amanda June 16, 2011 at 10:07 pm

Makes sense. Thank you.

Jency June 16, 2011 at 9:49 pm

7-15-11 would be July 15,2011

Stephanie June 16, 2011 at 9:57 pm

I am a technician at CVS … a couple of weeks ago in the pharmacy we received $5.00 off coupons for any zyrtec, claritin, allegra, or their store brand equivalents. The coupons are meant for customers who have prescriptions for these drugs to help defer the out of pocket expenses since recent changes in a lot of insurances have taken this drugs off their formulary. At my store we have been giving them out for anyone asking about allergy medications. These coupons ring up as a CVS coupon (kinda like extrabucks) with no size limitations therefore you can stack them with a manufacturer coupon to get overage to use in the rest of your order (which would be really nice with that $5 coupon they are talking about in the top of this post). I don’t know if all stores received these, but it would be worth asking at the pharmacy counter.

JMP June 16, 2011 at 10:06 pm

so, memo to self, don’t take advantage of these deals too early in the week b/c a better coupon may come along later. yeah, I already dropped the $2 coupon on CVS so now I guess I can’t use the $5 one :(

Tia June 17, 2011 at 8:12 am

Thanks! I did this deal on the way to work this morning. Plan on giving the meds to my sis, she’ll be happy I brought her some free meds & I’m happy I made money doing it!!

Sally June 17, 2011 at 2:27 pm

Thanks for this great lead! My daughter and I each have our own CVS cards so we were both able to take advantage of this great savings and she got some medicine to help her through the summer. We didn’t spend out ECB but I have feeling it will go towards fingernail polish!!! Thanks again.

Jennifer Stiko June 18, 2011 at 3:40 pm

So, I didn’t know for the last 7 weeks CVS has been ending their deals on Friday instead of Saturday; I went today to see if I could get this deal, but of course they were out (which I was expecting) but I couldn’t get a rain check either :( I’m sad I missed out on this and hope they have it again in the next few weeks before the coupon expires!

Anyway, for future reference, when you have a situation like this that makes an item completely free or close to free after ECBs, how will that work for a rain check? For example with this Zyrtec, if I had been able to get a rain check, the price for it later would be $5.99, but I’d immediately get that $5.99 off because of the rain check ECBS. So, my question is, what about if you have a coupon on top of that, in this case, the $5 off; will they give me overage to apply to other products? Thanks!

Krissi June 20, 2011 at 7:48 am

@ Jennifer – Where are you located? I’m in N. Louisiana and our sales still run Sun to Sat. I got my rain check on Saturday afternoon. As long as you are still in the dates listed on the ad they should give you the sale price and/or raincheck.

The way the RC works is they will scan the item, manually correct the price to the sale price on your RC, and scan your coupons for your final price. So for me, I’ll pay $0.99 + tax. After my receipt prints, they will manually print out my ECB. So I’ll have paid $0.99 + tax and gotten a $5.99 ECB (which in past RC experiences has rounded up to $6!). Although I once had a cashier at one CVS that had an old RC pad that didn’t have the ad code, and the cashier at the CVS I ended up getting the items from (we have 4 CVSs close by us) was just going to mark down the price to the after ECB cost (which was fine by me).

@lacey thru katie – I accidently did this with the Crest Mouthwash that was on sale a couple weeks ago. It was my first experience with a rain check. I assumed they wouldn’t give me the ECB since I had already reached my limit during the sale, but they gave them to me anyway. I even told the cashier I already got that deal, and she said “we’ll see what happens”. So at my stores, yes, you can cheat the system and get extra ECB. But I agree with katie, it could end up ruining it for everyone else.

I’m new to couponing/blogging but was thrilled with my trip to CVS last night! Thanks for all the tips and links.

I have a lot to learn but I’m excited! Any feedback or suggestions would be most welcome and appreciated!

Char June 19, 2011 at 8:11 am

IS this deal still on or is it over since we are starting a new week today?
