We also stopped by Dollar Tree yesterday to pick up some supplies for the Busy Bag Swap we’re participating in (more details/pictures on that along with a free Busy Bag pattern/download coming next week!). While there, I also picked up a few groceries:
3 boxes of bags (some of these we are using for the Swap, the rest will be for freezer cooking!) — $1 each
2 bags of Nature’s Own hot dog buns — $1 each
1 package of cups — $1
1 canister of sea salt — $1
Have I mentioned how much I love Dollar Tree? It’s so great to not even have to worry about looking at price tags and just to know everything is $1!

I was wondering if Dollar Tree accepted coupons? Because last week my Dollar Tree had Degree d.o. on sale for $1 and then I had a coupon that I could use too… I never made it there but wondered for future planning.

i’ve been wondering the same thing….dollar tree recently started putting flyers in the sunday ads here, so when i can see what brands are $1, it does make me think of looking up coupons for them..anyone know if they do them?

I used to work there and we did not accept coupons, but that was back before they even took credit or debit cards. Things may have changed.
we live within a5min walk to Dollar Tree and buy SO many things there! Def one of our fave stores!
Our Dollar Tree does not accept coupons or returns….They will however exchange items for other items if perhaps you purchased something in error….like too many birthday plates, supplies…..
Thanks so much to alerting me to the Nature’s Own bread at the Dollar Tree. I used to buy this bread at Costco and thought I was getting the best deal…. a better deal lurking around the corner. Woo Hoo. Just so you know Tuesday and Friday are bread delivery days at Dollar Tree.

OMG, they just built one by my house too. The cashiers already know me by name. There is no shame in your Dollar Tree game.
I live in IN. The Dollar Tree in our neighboring town is accepting coupons on a trial basis. If it goes well, they’ll extend it to our store. This is what the clerk told me last week when I asked if they accept coupons. I’ll be checking back on this & can update you on the outcome. Dollar Tree & the store, Deals, are owned by the same company…accd to the clerk. She said Deals does take coupons.
**Ours does take returns/exchanges too, btw.
Love, love, love dollar tree!! If they all started taking coupons they would have to raise their prices.
My Dollar Tree is a 15 min drive frommy house, so unless I’m already heading in that direction I rarely go there. Not only that, but doesn’t carry Nature’s Own, it carries Oven Joy, which is OK but certainly not worth the drive. BTW, my local Costco has GREAT prices for bread and milk.
just wanted to warn you about those bags if you’ve never used them before. In my experience,they were horrible for freezing;things got frostburn and the bags would rip while you were trying to open. Also not good for storing bread, but they are good for other things.

I’ve never used the big bags but the sandwich ones are great for the kids snacks, etc…..like 62 bags for $1.00!!!! I <3 Dollar Tree
I was just going to ask if anyone had tried these bags, so thanks for posting about your experience with them. I freeze a lot of produce and am always on the lookout for high-quality bags that are reasonably priced.
I’ve been using the Great Value brand from Walmart recently and they seem to be holding up well in the freezer. The price is great, too!
Those are my favorite, too! They’re cheaper than Ziploc and hold up much better than the Up & Up bags from Target.

I wrote a letter to dollar tree requesting they start accepting coupons, maybe if we all do the same, because its not like they lose the money
I love the Dollar Tree! I buy all my cards there, baby wet wipes, decorations, mylar balloons, kleenex, xome cleaning things, baggies, etc. etc. I do buy food if it is a brand name. Now I am not a snob when it comes to generic, but I saw a tv special and they said much of the food comes from other countries, and may not be as safe as we would like. With that said, any time I find brand names and they are things I would use, I definitely buy them. I have gotten Taco shells and sauce, bread, spaghetti sauce and many other things. You may want to google the Consumer Report and see what they suggest. At one time they had a really great article. I will always shop at the Dollar tree for things I need and some fun splurge things, too.
It makes you wonder why people are still paying full price. Dollar Tree is a God send.
Eep, my local Price Rite sells those canisters of salt for 39 cents! Careful, not everything they sell is worth $1!
I am super excited to learn more about this busy bag for preschoolers. I watch children and is always looking to keep them busy when its too hot to go out and play ( i live in Ky and it gets very humid) or to wet. This sounds pretty cheap and good to use over and over again. Can’t wait to see the post.
I love Dollar Tree! I find so many great things there. It is always worth a walk through, at least, whenever I am near a store!
I also love the Dollar Tree – not only can I get the Sunday paper for $1, but jars of roasted red peppers are nice. They’re not as good (roasted flavor) as the multi-colored peppers @ Trader Joe’s – but they’re half the price and good to have on hand.
Another lover of Dollar Tree here. After seeing Nature’s Own bread on a previous post by Crystal, and after hearing about wild canned salmon and gourmet smoked wild at Dollar Tree from other bloggers, I checked mine out. Haven’t been able to find those items there, YET, however did find rye bread, 100% whole wheat bread, and others rotating in and out on an irregular, catch-me-when-you-can basis. No Nature’s Own brand though; bummer. So what I do now, is, I’ve changed things up a little on my pre-planned grocery trips so that I swing by Dollar Tree first even if I don’t need anything, check what they have, cross off what I can on the list, and THEN go to the other stores. Dollar Tree beats even Aldi’s prices for bread (because everything’s a dollar at Dollar Tree for those who don’t know) and whole wheat hamburger and hot dog buns cost much much more than a dollar – yes you can get them for 79 cents on sale but they are not healthy so I don’t buy those.
