Oh, I wish I knew about this before I downloaded the Excel one a few days ago. I am happy with the one I purchased for $15.95. I had emailed MSM asking for advice on these recently but never heard back. I know you are busy, but ice never had an email returned by you.
I’m sorry that I’m not always able to answer all my emails.
I do try, but it’s not always possible because laundry and life takes precedence.
However, I do read my emails and use them for post inspiration and ideas, if I’m not able to answer them personally. And that’s one reason I shared these because many people have emailed in asking for budgeting spreadsheets recently so I hoped these would be helpful. I’m also planning to do some more detailed posts on budgeting in the not-to-distant future.
Thanks for posting them. I am loving the Excel One that I bought and I think it will be worth the money. I didn’t really like the mint.com idea and giving them the passwords to my bank account. The Excel is a one time charge and then you get free upgrades. There is another one that is part of this post that I think I’ll use along with what I have. Thanks!
How timely! I am sitting at the table working on our budget right now.
Does anyone know of anything that would work well for a Mac?
YNAB is a great budgeting program!! There is a one time fee of about $60 but is totally worth it – uses an envelope system. It works on our Mac but would work on a PC too.
hi i just bought a mac a month ago – use openoffice or neooffice. both are free programs found on the apple website under opensource. both programs let you open any MSOffice document, likewise any MSOffice user can open docs created in either of these programs. have been using both with success, prefer neooffice more user friendly.
Just use Mint or Buxfer! Way easier to keep track of expenses and set budgets.
Thanks for this post!!!! I just downloaded it. Wonder how long I’ll be up now crunching numbers and such.
Awesome! I am bookmarking the CPF site. Tons of helpful info there. Thanks!
We Love Christian PF! I’ve been reading his posts for a few years. Such great info! Thank for posting these Crystal!
One thought about Mint.com is that you can earn Swagbucks for trying it out, I noticed it under one of the tabs yesterday.
Thanks for the mention Crystal!
And for the other commenters, I agree with Alicia about using YNAB, that is what I currently use for our budget. If spending $60 for budgeting software isn’t in the budget, mint.com can be helpful, or of course using one of the free budgeting spreadsheets will get you going as well!
thanks so much – this post came at an opportune time. it’s a season of new beginnings and blessings for me. just started a new job and am determined to manage my money more effectivelly. also using the getorganizedwizard.com 30day program to clean&organize my home – i thought i’d be overwhelmed with it but am actually more organized than i thought. for past 2 wks I’ve unloaded stuff (clothing, lamps, bed linens, knick-knacks, toys) using http://www.freecycle.org/. the resources and user posts have significantly improved the balance of my life – allowing me to follow God’s plan for my life – fostering kids.
You have my heartfelt thanks!
