1 package King’s Hawaiian Rolls (My husband loves these rolls, so I bought them as a special treat for dinner tonight!) — marked down to $1.29
1 bag of popcorn (Buying kernels and popping corn in our air popper is so much cheaper than buying microwave popcorn!) — $1.99
1 Renuzit Air Freshener — $1, used $1/1 coupon, free after coupon
1 Heinz ketchup — $1.99, used $2/1 coupon (no longer available), free after coupon
1 Luna bar — $1, used $0.50/1 coupon (doubled), free after coupon
3 Mars Easter Eggs (not pictured, these were my children’s rewards for good behavior at the store. They are long gone as candy is a rarity at our house!) — $1 each, used $2/2 coupon from All You magazine — $0.33 each after coupon
2 bags Lay’s Kettle Chips — $1.99 each, used 2 $0.55/1 Lay’s Kettle chips coupon from the 3/13 SmartSource insert (“doubles” to $1/1), $0.99 each after coupon
My total, after coupons with tax, was $7.89. My receipt says my total savings was $22.95.

I love my own air-popped popcorn! My mom actually gave me her air-popper from when I was growing up, and my kids love to watch it. Also, you can make it as healthy or buttery as you want! Yum!
I have been looking for a good (but affordable
) air popper. What brand do you have?
Walmart has a Presto popper for $20, but it was on sale for $15 a couple weeks ago. Our Walmart didn’t have any on the shelf so my husband and I picked up the Rival next to it, regularly $19 and asked if we could have it for $15 — they said no problem! We love it!
We have friends who have the Presto and love it — we love our Rival so you’re good either way!

Check your local thrift stores they always seem to have one super cheap. I recommend the small upright kind since it doesn’t take up a lot of space.

My husband spent $2 on our air popper at Goodwill about $15 years ago and its still going strong.
You can pop popcorn in the microwave in a paper bag! Just scoop 1/3 c kernels into a brown paper bag, fold the top twice, and microwave for 2ish minutes. You don’t need any special ingredients or equipment, it’s the cheapest popcorn ever!
I was just going to say the same thing. I have been doing my own microwave popcorn for years. It is cheaper and healthier than regular microwave popcorn and easier than using an air popper. I just listen like for the popping to slow down and then take it out–just like regular microwave popcorn.
I can’t remember the brand name but walmart sales one for about 15.00. It is much cheaper for us to pop our own for my family of six, then to buy microwave.
We love the Hawaiian rolls – they’re sweet but not too sweet.

Yea, for air popped popcorn. We haven’t bought microwavable popcorn in a very long time and actually perfer what I call “homemade popcorn”
I did a post the other day about it – you can put popcorn kernels in a brown lunch bag with a bit of oil and microwave it.
WAY cheaper than microwave popcorn and yet easier than stove top!
We pop our popcorn on the stove top with a bit of coconut oil and sea salt. YUM!

The Lay’s potato chip coupons — one for regular and one for kettle-style — in our area stated LIMIT ONE PER CUSTOMER, so I couldn’t use two at a recent must buy two sale.
We buy our popcorn at Sam’s Club – they sell 50 pound bags for just under $20. It’s the best price on popcorn I’ve ever found! We eat a lot of popcorn but it usually takes us almost a year to get through 50 pounds of it
I agree with Courtney. We buy our popcorn at Sam’s Club too. It is very cheap and it last us about two years.
Beth, I know Crystal has written about giving things away. For me some of things I try to keep in mind to give to, (and I am always open to more suggestions,) would be our church denomination’s maternity home, or other local maternity homes, our church denomination’s children’s home.
When natural disasters occur, it’s nice to have a stockpile of things like toiletries etc. to contribute, (I’m thinking of Hurricane Katrina.) The Ronald McDonald House, and other such organizations such as homeless shelters and women’s shelters could probably use toiletries and household supplies. (Hair dye probably would be a blessing for some lady!)

and it’s better for you too, because microwave popcorn bags are lined with gross chemicals! (at least that’s what jillian michaels says).
Okay, I’m very picky about my hair color too. I understand that the Nice ‘n Easy was free but do want to recommend Natural Instincts. Both my sister-in-law and I use it and are very happy with the results. There are always sales and coupons making is sooooo much less expensive than the salon. It may take a couple times to find just the right shade but that particular product has had great reviews by many others and me too! Best!
