Free CPR classes from the Red Cross (March 19, 2011)

On March 19, 2011, the Red Cross is offering free one-hour CPR classes in more than 100 locations across the nation. These classes are usually $25, but are being offered free for one day only.

Ryan March 10, 2011 at 12:52 pm: Only 100 locations and nowhere near me. I encourage anyone that can take advantage of this to do it, at the very least it looks good on a resume.

Jessica March 10, 2011 at 4:17 pm: Call ahead to make sure your location is participating- even if it’s listed! I was about to blog about this as well, but opted to double check and found out that, despite being listed, no Red Cross locations in Utah are participating due to lack of budget. Sad.

We were asked to take this class before our 22 mth old son was released from the NICU……I told them oh I know what to do, I had infant cpr almost 9 yrs ago, I’m not a first time mom……As of last friday I am so glad that they made me do it…..My 22 mth old son choked on some food and passed out……His little face, the color, the destortion of it……Even thou I had had that class just a short 22 mths ago I still felt like I knew nothing…..Please please if this is offered anywhere close to you……Take the class even if it is a refresher……There is nothing in this world like seeing your child pass out and feeling helpless…….but there is all the joy in the world when you have your child like that to be to help him take another breath and pink up……..My son is fine but I hold him just a bit closer because I know how close I came to loosing him……

I have put this link on my blog and on my facebook……..This has now become a passion of mine and I will be pushing for several places around me to hold an American Red Cross CPR class…..
