PhotoWorks is closing, so Shutterfly is offering a $30 credit if you transfer your photos over to them instead. Shipping is free on orders over $30, so you can basically get $30 worth of photos or photo gifts — for free!

Here’s how to get this deal:

::Sign up for a Shutterfly account if you don’t have one already (you’ll get a credit for 50 free prints added to your account).

::Transfer your photos here (click on “Transfer My Photos”) and then log back into Shutterfly if you’re not already logged in.

::You’ll receive an email within 48 hours with a unique code which will give you a free $30 credit!

Wish I had made a PhotoWorks account :)

Misty March 8, 2011 at 1:48 pm

Do the photos have to be transferred from Photoworks? Or can I transfer from snapfish, too?

Hilda Popescu March 8, 2011 at 1:49 pm

I wish I had an account with PhotoWorks too! :(

christie March 8, 2011 at 1:50 pm

i wish i had known to sign up for a photoworks account before they deleted their sign up que. oh well!

Erin March 8, 2011 at 1:51 pm

Sweet!!

Mindy Weschler March 8, 2011 at 1:52 pm

Woo Hoo!!! Great deal! Thanks so much for posting this!

Alison Armstrong March 8, 2011 at 2:02 pm

I happen to order from there before Christmas b/c it was the only place I could find a photo bookmark! Thanks so much!!!

Sarah in MO March 8, 2011 at 2:04 pm

Thank you!!! Now I’m glad I have a Photo Works account! :)

Kim March 8, 2011 at 2:08 pm

I did all of this without having a photoworks account, I just “transfered photos” from no photos, and it sent me the code for $30 credit still!

Heather March 8, 2011 at 2:11 pm

How did you do that since it asks for log in info when you hit Transfer My Photos?

Maria March 8, 2011 at 2:31 pm

I couldn’t get it to work either, it was asking for my photoworks log in.

Kim March 8, 2011 at 2:12 pm

It didn’t ask me for log in info on the photoworks page, only on shutterfly, which I had just created an account for. I don’t know- maybe I just got lucky?

Morgan March 8, 2011 at 2:38 pm

Kim could you explain how because it asks for a Photoworks account not Shutterfly first…?

Thanks~!

Kim March 8, 2011 at 2:43 pm

I don’t know, I just followed Crystal’s instructions exactly. The only thing I can figure is that I signed up for a photoworks account in the past, but I really don’t think I did because I didn’t have to log in to it, and there were no photos there. Maybe they realized this was a problem and I got in right before they fixed it or something. Either that or I must have had an account without realizing it. Sorry, wish I could be more helpful!

Kristin March 8, 2011 at 2:22 pm

I didn’t think I had a photoworks account but figured I’d try to see if I did. I signed in with what I usually use for a email/password and I already got my $30 code.

Elizabeth March 8, 2011 at 2:24 pm

Thanks so much! I’m so excited about ordering a photo book with my credit! I had been waiting for an awesome deal :)

Angela March 8, 2011 at 2:35 pm

Fantastic!! Thanks so much!

Elizabeth March 8, 2011 at 2:36 pm

I tried clicking on Transfer My Photos (without having a PhotoWorks account) and it asked me to log in. I put in my Shutterfly info to see if it would work, but it didn’t (I didn’t think it would).

alicia March 8, 2011 at 2:43 pm

wish i had an account lol!! i got the $20 credit from the wedding site a while back and got a 20X30 print of our family portrait. My mom is wanting one of our entire family (2 grandparents, 6 kids and 7 grandkids!!). If anyone decides they dont want the credit let me know :)

Lisa March 8, 2011 at 2:58 pm

Awesome! Thanks so much for posting this! I totally forgot that I had a photoworks account. Does anyone know if there is an expiration for that credit? We have a baby due at the end of May, so this would be a big help with announcements and such!

Rae March 8, 2011 at 4:23 pm

the expiration date is 6/28/11 :)

Stephanie March 8, 2011 at 3:52 pm

Awesome! I think my husband has a Photoworks account too so we should be able to get a lot of photo products with this!

Angie March 8, 2011 at 5:17 pm

I don’t recall having a photoworks account but apparently I did and it worked for me! Now I guess I don’t have any excuses to not finish my 2010 album.

Mrs W March 8, 2011 at 5:45 pm

Can I still order from Photoworks? if so, is there a deadline? I have 2 books made that I want printed. I’m guessing I can’t transfer that.

Rae March 8, 2011 at 8:45 pm

I think you can still order as long as you haven’t done the transfer yet. They have an extra 25% off coupon code listed on the site.

Amity March 8, 2011 at 5:53 pm

Awhile back they had a free photobook offer that im sure most of us took advantage of. Thats the only reason I have/had an account with them. and that was so easy. Thanks Crystal for the heads up.

jenny l March 8, 2011 at 6:03 pm

Thank you, Crystal! Once again you’ve “made” some money for me! I didn’t remember that I had an account there either, but I’m happy for the free photos. I too need to order xmas pictures from last year.

Angela March 8, 2011 at 8:21 pm

Thank you for sharing. I haven’t received an e-mail from Photoworks, which is a little discouraging. Glad to learn of their closing, so that I could get my pictures moved.

Brandy March 8, 2011 at 9:34 pm

They emailed me my code within 30 mins! Thanks for the tip it says its good till June 28th

kristen March 8, 2011 at 11:12 pm

Thank you SO much for posting this! I had MANY years worth of photos stored at photoworks, back to when it was Seattle Film Works! One of the reasons they are probably closing is such poor customer service – I’d keep signing up to get notifications and then not get any. . . . so I had no idea that they were closing. You sharing this ensured that all my photos are now safely in my Shutterfly account. We are having a blast looking at the memories!

KD March 9, 2011 at 12:22 am

Just a quick note–you can’t combine the free shipping code with this $30 off code, so you will still have to pay shipping on whatever you get. Still a fantastic deal, though!

KD March 9, 2011 at 12:23 am

Never mind–it just gave me a new page after telling me that I couldn’t combine the two codes, and it actually took the shipping off, too! Yay!

Suzy March 9, 2011 at 12:46 am

Soooo cool. I had an account. Didn’t even remember I had one. I just got back last night from a vacation in South America. Free photo book here I come. Thank you!

Julie March 9, 2011 at 10:25 am

I keep getting the message that there are server problems. I had an account with photoworks and don’t even remember opening one.

Ashley March 9, 2011 at 11:58 am

This is great! Shutterfly is actually my favorite picture sight. Just transferred my photos! Can’t wait for the $30 credit!! Thank you!

Ruth March 9, 2011 at 12:26 pm

I have over 150 albums on photoworks. I hope this doesn’t take a week to transfer! YIKES!!!

Emily March 9, 2011 at 3:53 pm

I didn’t remember having an account but I did! Glad I went to the web site because once I was there I knew it looked familiar. Thanks!!

Lisa March 9, 2011 at 4:57 pm

Thank you so much for posting this offer! I had created a Photoworks account but never loaded any pictures. I was still able to get the $30 credit to Shutterfly. I combined the $30 credit with the SHIP30 code and the PRINT30 code to get 286 prints shipped for only $0.03!!

Kim March 10, 2011 at 9:55 am

I transfered my photos yesterday and have not got my code. Does anyone know what the code is? I want to get a book for my parents. There Anniversary is in a couple of weeks…

Lavonne March 10, 2011 at 4:39 pm

Thank you for posting this deal! I didn’t remember I had an account with Photoworks, tried signing in and my login info wasn’t valid. I figured I just didn’t have an account, but for the heck of it I tried having it send me my password. It did, and when I signed in I found about 50 family photos of my husband and daughter and I when she was an only child (before we had two more daughters). I didn’t even remember those photos existed, I’m so happy to have them now, and to have the $30 credit to make them into a photo book! :)

Megan Morris March 10, 2011 at 9:36 pm

I cant seem to find how to transfer the photos can someone please explain to me where to click to transfer PLEASE!!! thanks!!

Tonia March 13, 2011 at 4:31 pm
