If you’ve been wanting to do something other than donate money or pray for the people in Japan, Living With Punks is hosting a Sew Along For Japan.

Next week, she’ll be providing detailed instructions and free downloads to make t-shirts for children in Japan. At the end of the week, you can ship the t-shirts you make to an address she’ll provide (in California) and then all the t-shirts will be shipped to the children in Japan.

Thanks, Family Friendly Frugality!

That is really nice, but I would imagine that the “japan” girl should have eyes that are appropriate for her.

The people look anime style- round eyes are popular in that kind of illustration.

Those are really cute. Is anyone selling any and sending the money to Japan? I would buy one as I don’t sew.

I second the selling idea. I don’t sew but I would be happy to purchase a cute shirt like that especially if I knew the money would go to those in need. Great idea!

Our church has a ministry called “Hemmed In Prayer” that makes dresses and shirts/shorts for children all over the world. If anyone knows of a mission group going we could probably send some with them. We are in the Eastern Alabama area. Go here for more info:

this is a great idea! sometimes we want to do more than simply put a donation charge on the credit card. great way to use talents to donate instead of just money. thanks

Oh My! These are adorable. Now it has me thinking. I have a daisy Girl Scout troop that will be meeting soon. Now I wonder if there is something me and my girls can do to help out. I Feel this craft may be tough for them to do in 1 hours time. But I wonder what else we could do. I better get to looking. Anyone have any crafty type ideas to help that would be appropriate for 5/6/7 year olds?
