*Hot!* Target: Buy any seven frozen items, get a $5 Target gift card (regional deal)

FavoriteLoadingAdd to my favorites

by Crystal on February 21, 2011

And yet another great deal from Target! Unfortunately, it’s regional, so you’ll want to look at the weekly ad online to see if it shows up for your zip code (some areas got a “Buy any seven frozen items, get a free freezer bag” offer instead.)

If it is advertised in your area, you can get some amazing deals. For instance:

Buy 7 Market Pantry Juice at $0.82 each, Get a $5 Target Gift Card = $0.11 each after the gift card

Buy 7 Market Pantry Burritos at $0.84 each, Get a $5 Target Gift Card = $0.13 each after the gift card

There are so many deal possibilities for getting products for pennies on the dollar with this promotion! There are Target coupons available for $1/4 frozen vegetables and $5/10 SmartOnes, which will make for great deals, too.

Best of all, you can roll this deal as many times as you’d like, using the $5 gift cards to pay for your next order.

I’m recovering from a flu I brought home with me from vacation last week, so please don’t go clean out all my Target stores before I make it out to shop tomorrow, okay? :)

I was there this morning. Bought 49 items. Paid $42 and got back $35 in gift cards. So $12 total :) :)

Stevie Nanstad February 21, 2011 at 2:43 pm

Oops I mean $47 OOP

Carrie February 21, 2011 at 1:40 pm

I just checked mine (Ohio) and it’s a free freezer bag. Boooo.

Emily February 21, 2011 at 5:18 pm

Same here in PA

Kristine February 25, 2011 at 11:47 am

Phoenix, AZ has the freezer bag too.

Jessica February 21, 2011 at 1:43 pm

I just did this deal and ended up with very cheap veggies!

Deal scenario (what I did):
Get (8) MP Frozen Veggies @ $0.99 each
Use (2) $1/4 Target Printable
Pay $5.92 OOP
Get $5 Gift Card
Like paying $0.92 for 8 bags of veggies (~$0.11 each)!!

We’re stocked up for at least a week! =)

Stacy Myers February 21, 2011 at 1:43 pm

It’s a freezer bag here too. :-( Oh well…..lots of other great deals! Here is a question – can I use two Target coupons of the same type in a transaction? I think so, but want to make sure before I go…..
Oh, one more – does anyone know if Target cuts the price in half for a BOGO sale? Or does the second item ring up free?
Thanks!!!

Darcy February 21, 2011 at 1:57 pm

If you’re buying 2 of the same item and have a Target coupon for each of them I don’t think there should be a problem at all. Ditto if you had 2 manufacturer coupons for those items at the same time.

I would assume Target would also honor a real BOGO and give the second item free…but it may all depend on what your local store is like. I don’t see anything specifically mentioned in the Target coupon policy about BOGOs and unfortunately I don’t have any personal experience using BOGO coupons there yet.

Becky February 22, 2011 at 5:32 am

The Target coupons usually say only one per transaction, but some cashiers will still honor them.

Stacy Myers February 22, 2011 at 6:38 am

Thanks to you both! I will try it today and see. :-)

Darcy February 21, 2011 at 1:51 pm

Here in eastern Iowa, in addition to the frozen foods deal, my local Super Target had special deals on Always/Tampax pads and tampons where if you buy 2 products (selected varieties), you get a $5 gift card. Similar deal for select Purina items – select varieties of bagged cat food and cat litter too! – for the $5 gift card.

Julie February 21, 2011 at 1:56 pm

Here in CT it’s a freezer bag… :(

Glad it’s not that way for some of you! Enjoy your week.

jeanine February 21, 2011 at 2:10 pm

Buy 6 get a free freezer bag in Columbus, OH. But I am excited. I have been wanting a freezer bag for a while now! :)

Ashley February 21, 2011 at 2:13 pm

It’s the freezer bag here too. I would be excited about it, except I just bought one about a month ago.

JenK February 21, 2011 at 2:36 pm

It’s a freezer bag here in central TX, too, but I have been wanting a good bag for frozen grocery items, so I might still get it if my kids kick their colds soon. We eat tons of frozen juice and veggies, so we’d be buying some of this anyway!

tallymomma February 21, 2011 at 2:39 pm

I was able to get 91 items, including 2 free jeans with the $5 target coupon and some 90% off valentines day clearance items, for $35.48. Makes it $.39 an item! This was here in N. FL :)

Crystal February 21, 2011 at 2:46 pm

Wow! Did you take a picture?! I want to see!

Tallymomma February 21, 2011 at 5:26 pm

I did, I posted a pic and did deal scenarios here-

Crystal February 21, 2011 at 5:33 pm

I’m thoroughly impressed and inspired — and printing coupons for my trip tomorrow.

Question: Did you use the WeightWatchers frozen novelty coupon on the SmartOnes desserts (I think they are made by WeightWatchers?) or was it on WeightWatchers products? I’m not seeing it in your picture (only SmartOnes) which is why I was asking.

Thanks so much!

Tallymomma February 21, 2011 at 5:52 pm

I did, I asked them about it beforehand and they said it was fine to use the $1/1 since the Smart Ones were by Weight Watcher. I don’t know if this will apply everywhere though. Certainly I would suggest asking first. I must say I even surprised myself at the register! Happy Hunting :)

Chrys February 21, 2011 at 2:44 pm

Bag here, but gc at the store close to my mom’s who I’m visiting this weekend! Yay!

jessica February 21, 2011 at 2:45 pm

Freezer bag here in MD too. Oh well.

Kelly @ Kansas City Mamas February 21, 2011 at 2:51 pm

I just got back – 30 items for $16.00. Best part was all the frozen chicken! Love it. Thinking about doing it again tomorrow – we’ll see.

Mindy Weschler February 21, 2011 at 3:14 pm

So is it good on more things than are pictured? There are no Market Pantry items pictured…but people are reporting getting those…??

Holly February 21, 2011 at 3:27 pm

The ad says any frozen food item, so it’s not just what is pictured. Hope that helps and happy shopping! Getting ready to go out soon here in WI to check out the Valentine’s clearance, winter clearance, and of course, frozen deals! WOOT for good Target deals finally!

Mindy Weschler February 21, 2011 at 4:08 pm

Wow! Thanks Holly! Didn’t realize that!

elizabeth February 21, 2011 at 6:22 pm

Me neither. I looked through the ad and everything but just looked at the pics. I am SOOOO glad I saw this post!!!! :)

kim February 21, 2011 at 3:26 pm

We have the freezer bag, and it’s awesome! I’m thrilled it’s around again. I wanted a second one. It transports cold stuff great, and all my friends comment on how “happy” this bag is. :)

Katie February 21, 2011 at 4:32 pm

I went and got a bunch of veggies, tgi fridays appetizers (on clearance!), chicken, pizza, smart ones etc… plus a few valentine’s items @90% off for $31.00. 46 items all together.

Katie February 21, 2011 at 4:35 pm

I’m sure I could have gotten my oop even lower, but I have taken the last two months off from couponing :)

peever February 21, 2011 at 4:41 pm

My Target only had tags hanging on the items that were pictured in the ad, but I tried it out today with just frozen veggies and juice and it worked. I got 14 items for $1.26 after the GCs! I’m going to go back tonight or tomorrow when I don’t have all the kiddos with me and to do it again! I wish I had more coupons!

Jessica February 21, 2011 at 4:42 pm

oooohhh THANK YOU! Just came back from a quick run and shared my deals here: http://www.jessicalynette.com/uncategorized/hot-great-deal-at-target/

The frozen veggies are my favorite :)

Stacy February 21, 2011 at 4:48 pm

I just got back and it worked like a charm on all frozen EXCEPT Banquet brand. I was told by Customer Service that that is the only brand not working and they won’t force it through. Just a heads up.

Becky February 22, 2011 at 5:34 am

It didn’t work on my Banquet purchase intially either, but they still gave me the gift card.

Heather February 21, 2011 at 5:08 pm

They were already out of the freezer bags at my Target this morning…..Oh well. I was still happy with my Target deals – I love stacking coupons! :-)

Emily February 21, 2011 at 5:23 pm

Here in PA instead of the Frozen items, if we buy 2 pet products, like food, litter etc. we can get the $5 card. So look through your whole flyer and see if that is offered in urs!

Susannah February 21, 2011 at 6:08 pm

I got a free pair of jeans ($4.98 on clearance and used the $5 off denim Q) for my skinny-minny 16-year old and a clearance sweater in gray, perfect for spring, with the 20% off Q. Also got 2 fam-size lasagnas, eggo waffles, and WW desserts for the gift card, and used man Qs for all. Finally, got panty liners for something like .09, free cough drops, and less-than-$1 allergy meds and ibuprofen and shower cleaner. THanks MSM!

Crystal February 21, 2011 at 6:21 pm

Woohoo!

Shannon K February 21, 2011 at 7:05 pm

My super Target thought it was just the ones listed that were for the GC, (I checked) just a few signs. Thankfully I had other coupons and bought more and it was like Christmas…… the cashier kept saying another GC!! going back for more. YEA!!!

jan February 21, 2011 at 7:39 pm

Freezer bag in OH but I might go get one- can always use one.

jennifer February 21, 2011 at 9:53 pm

Here’s my deals: http://feedingchicks.com/smokin-hot-target-deals/
Just remember it takes off about .71. I was waiting for someone in the blogosphere to complain about clearing shelves (which I did not) but I would so encourage anyone who knows a large family or family in need to do a transaction or 2 for them. I know when we were struggling bags of frozen veggies or 100% juice were like Godiva and caviar!! Love that God blesses us through TARGET, HA!, so we can bless others!! Also, I rolled my transactions, and apologized/thanked my kind cashier repeatedly, and told her b/c I was able to do some separate, I was able to give more. Thanks Crystal!!

Becky February 22, 2011 at 5:37 am

Question on Target gift card deals — can you get more than one from a single transaction? For example, if I bought 14 frozen items, should I get 2 $5 GCs?

tallymomma February 22, 2011 at 9:14 am

Yes, I did 2 GC deals at a time or 14 items and it worked perfectly. I’m sure you can do more as well I just wanted to roll them over into the next purchase. hth

Becky February 22, 2011 at 12:21 pm

Thanks! I’ll give it a try!

Minerva February 22, 2011 at 2:21 pm

I went to my local Target and purchased 13 frozen food items. The Cashier was not aware of any of the freebies so she called the store manager over and I mentioned the freebies to the mnager who in turn went to the freezer aisles and looked at the signs. This Target had both of the signs for buy any 6 items and get a free freezer bag and then the other sign for buy any 7 items and get a $5.oo gift card. I got the free Freezer bag and a $5.00 gift card.

Jennifer February 22, 2011 at 3:09 pm

Free freezer bag here in PA, too.

Ali February 22, 2011 at 4:01 pm

I purchased $200 worth of groceries for $50!

I got 21 Smart Ones for $6.80 – only $0.32 each! Yay for that! Also, kids/toddlers socks are only $0.66 each this week but not marked at every store.

Misplaced Coupon February 23, 2011 at 9:26 am

I got a modest haul compared to some, but still some very good deals!

Jessica February 23, 2011 at 1:37 pm

Freezer bag in Birmingham, Alabama. :(

Holly February 23, 2011 at 5:16 pm

We have freezer bags here, too. And I wouldn’t mind that, except none of the stores have any freezer bags! So if anyone has any tips on when they think stores in North Alabama might get bags, please let me know. I’d really like to get several bags before I move to the middle of nowhere in a few months and have to drive over an hour to get to a decent grocery store.

Beth February 25, 2011 at 9:25 am

Freezer bag in North Texas but it’s soooo cute!! Love it and got the free jeans, free dental floss, 37 cent bleach and Smart Ones for a great price!!! Thank you so much, Money Saving Mom!

nicole deitrick February 25, 2011 at 11:34 am

it’s the freezer bag here in NJ too =/

Karen February 25, 2011 at 11:54 am

By combining a $5 off of 12 and the $5 off 10 on SmartOne’s and the $10 in gift cards I got 14 meals for $.37 a piece! I was pretty excited…I might go back and do it again!

Kylie February 25, 2011 at 12:29 pm

I got the best cashier ever who totally made my trip worthwhile. I paid $19.97 OOP and got $20 in Gift Cards! Aw yeah! Here’s all about my trip:
