Rose Knows Coupons shows how they made Outdoor Lighted Holiday Gift Boxes for their front porch. I wouldn’t necessarily classify this idea as “simple” and it did cost them $20 for the supplies, but I thought it was very creative — and am guessing some of you might be interested in creating your own!

Do you have a fun and frugal DIY idea to share? I’d love to hear about it! Read the submission guidelines and submit it here.

You can make these cheaper (on a smaller scale) by going to Home Depot and asking for a bucket full of paint stirring sticks (FREE!!!)
They don’t mind giving them away! =)
And also.. instead of buying the colored mesh (which tends to be a bit pricier)… you can opt to buy “clearanced” nylon or mesh material at any fabric shop, discount store such as Salvation Army thrift store..
It will save you a few bucks.
And if you’re really struggling (financially)… you ca get cheap, used strands of Christmas lights at the Salvation Army thrift store as well..
*I don’t usually recommend buying used light strands cuz who knows how old they are …and the risk of fire always gets me on edge. lol
