We’re officially on our Christmas Break at our house this week! Instead of the usual homeschooling, we’ve planned some simple Christmas-related activities to do with the children. I’ll be sharing some pictures of what we end up doing over the course of the next few days to give you a little peek into our home.

In the mean time, though, here are some fun ideas for do-it-yourself activities you can do with youngsters at your house:

Jenae from I Can Teach My Child shows you how to make Puffy Snowflakes.

Stacie from The Amazing Mess is posting 12 Days of Christmas Carol-themed activities for children.

Creative Juices shares a recipe for Gingerbread Playdough.

Do you have a fun and frugal Christmas-related DIY children’s activity idea? I’d love to hear about it! Read the submission guidelines and submit it here.

Paper mache ornaments! Use water baloons left over from summer for your mold, use newspapers laying around for your paper, and decorate with paint, glitter, pasta, beans, etc. Whatever you can find! :)

Be prepared for some laughter regarding the gingerbread playdough. On Friday my daughter kept calling it ‘poo poo’ after she first started playing with it and laughing. I NEVER would have thought of that…leave it to a 3 year old! (:

Just finished the Puffy Snowflakes with my 2 DS’s. The older one LOVED it! S-u-p-e-r messy, but actually easy to clean up with soap and water. Still drying, but looks great!
