I am not one to get excited about purses. I usually buy one in very neutral colors off the clearance rack at Walmart and replace it every five years or so.
(I’m pretty sure that some of you are thinking, “Man, she is sooo boring!”)
But honestly, it works for me. It keeps things simple and hassle-free to just have one purse that you use over and over and over. (Which is why I usually only have six mix and match outfits per season, too; I’m all about keeping it simple!)
But I happen to know that some of you really like purses and some of you like to have purses to match different outfits. Well, I have come across a way to have one purse, but to be able to change the look at a moment’s notice.
It’s called the The Skirt Purse (see page 12 and 13, as well as page 39). It’s a basic brown or black purse from Thirty-One Gifts and you can purchase up to nine different “skirts” to put on it. I was thoroughly impressed with the skirt purse I received to review and have actually shown quite a few people how it works — so that’s saying a lot considering my lackluster feelings towards purses.
Now, I do have to tell you that my favorite thing about this purse is actually not that you can interchange skirts for it. In fact, I only got one skirt for mine and have no need to get any others. But, I love that I can easily detach the skirt and throw it in the laundry for easy clean-up if it gets spills or stains on it! That is a huge plus in a home with young children!

I usually like to lean towards brown, black, or white purse, because they go with everything, and keeps me in budget. I guess if I could afford every color I would have one, but then there is the task of having to switch everything out. lol!!! I have never heard of a purse skirt until now. What a neat concept!! That must save a lot of time, too!
I am normally the same way about purses but that looks nice and you can swap out the skirt whenever you want. I am pretty excited!!

I’m with you on the purses Crystal, I use one big brownish colored purse all the time. I actually bought a smaller black one I found on clearance. I guess I thought I would use it to take out on special occasions, but with 3 little ones, I have yet to use it. I guess I don’t get out much! Oh well, maybe someday
@Brooke, Haha that’s how I am too. I have all these ideas about going out on some glamorous date with my husband all decked out in heels and a little black dress, but…I have three very young ones too, and just DOESN’T happen! haha like you said, maybe someday!

What a great purse! I too am usually a neutral color only purse person…I don’t want to spend the money on several different purses so I would always get one purse that just matches everything.

Consultant here and LOVE my skirt purse – although my husband and boys get confused and I frequently hear, “But I don’t know what it looks like today!” It saves a TON of time (and frustration!) from switching between purses (and leaving the ONE item you NEEDED in the other one!) and the quick clean-up is GREAT! (I used a baby wipe to remove GREEN food coloring from my pixie pink medallion one – worked great!)
