Absolutely LOVE the idea. Thank You. I’ll be glancing amongst my evergreens to be ready to go on it!

I foresee a project in my future. I may cheat a little and purchase a letter from Michaels or JoAnn Fabric since I don’t know how to use a jigsaw. Either way, it is a gorgeous and seemingly easy project.

Sandpaper – check
Paint – check
Floral wire – check
Greenery – check (once we get our live tree)
Ribbon – check

Oh…this might be the perfect early present for my mom and mother-in-law for Christmas. Hmmm…

going to try doign it with fake greener what do you think? i want to do this as gifts for my family???

I just made four of them as Christmas gifts and used some greenery I got at the dollar tree. They look great!!! I was worried how long the cut greens would last in warmer climates. The pine garland I purchased at the Dollar Tree had wire in it so it was super easy to wrap around the letters.

Thanks for the great idea, Carrie!!!

Thank you so much for the feature.

I too thought I would do this with faux greenery but I just love the smell of fresh cut greenery! And what a lovely way to welcome your guest in your home with them entering with a nice clean smell before they hit the aroma of my kids dirty sneakers. LOL

how do you hang it on the door?

Carrie November 17, 2010 at 6:33 pm

Tina~ I used a 3M hook to stick to the door. I painted it black so it would match the door.
