*Hot!* Free 3-month Amazon Prime subscription

by Crystal on September 07, 2010

Update: It appears your account will automatically cancel and you won’t be billed at all once your trial is up. Secondly, if you were having trouble getting this to work last night, they said they’ve fixed the glitches and it should be working now.

I’m so excited! Amazon just released a brand-new Amazon Mom program and when you sign up you get a free three-month Prime membership. If you use Swagbucks, this is perfect because you’ll be able to save some money and get faster shipping for Christmas presents!

In addition, you can save 30% off diapers and wipes and you’ll get an additional free one-month Amazon Prime membership for each $25 you spend in a single transaction in the Baby store — up to one year of free Prime.

Now I’m extra motivated to strategically spend my Amazon gift cards from Swagbucks!

For those who may be unfamiliar, Amazon Prime gives you free two-day shipping on all orders which qualify for Super Saver Shipping. However, you don’t have to meet any minimum $25 threshold like usual. So if you find a great deal for only $2, you get free shipping. I got a free Prime membership in the past and loved it!

Thanks, Swag Grabber!

We signed up for the free student deal a while back and really like it. It’s free shipping on lots of stuff, not just subscribe and save. I even purchased a used book that had free shipping through Amazon Prime.

Can’t find the do not auto renew button! Please help!!

  • theresa September 07, 2010 at 09:30 pm

i also can’t find the do not auto renew button!

  • Liz September 07, 2010 at 09:54 pm

Same here, I signed up but it is saying You are not currently subscribed to Amazon Prime. Click here to sign up.

  • Elizabeth September 07, 2010 at 09:56 pm

Yeah – I’m getting the same message as Liz.

  • Heather September 07, 2010 at 09:57 pm

Is there an expiration for this trial? I’d like to sign up at the end of the month to catch Christmas deals.

  • Nikki September 07, 2010 at 10:18 pm

I also cannot find the do not renew button. :/

  • Kerri September 07, 2010 at 10:23 pm

Same message for me too. But, in the Amazon Mom terms and conditions it says, “The automatic renewal provisions in the Amazon Prime Terms & Conditions (which would require you to pay for Amazon Prime) do not apply to this membership, even if we decide to extend the free Amazon Prime shipping offer beyond one year.” So, it doesn’t look like we need to worry about that automatic renew.

  • Liz September 07, 2010 at 10:27 pm

I also tested it by putting an item in my cart and going to check out and it was still going to charge me for shipping, so looks like they are having some errors.

    • Jessica September 07, 2010 at 10:56 pm

      @Liz,
Not all items are eligible for Amazon Prime…you have to look for the ones that are.

      • Liz September 07, 2010 at 11:00 pm

        @Jessica,

        Ah, gotcha. Thanks!!!

  • Linda Wheelet September 07, 2010 at 10:36 pm

    I don’t think I signed up correctly…. But I tried!

  • Rose September 08, 2010 at 12:08 am

I currently have a free trial membership to amazon prime. If I sign up for this will in interfere with my current trial or extend it?

  • Michelle September 08, 2010 at 12:24 am

I’m having trouble with this, too. I’ve placed “Prime Eligible” items in my cart, but at checkout free Prime shipping is not available. My account shows I’m signed up for Amazon Mom, but does not show that I am signed up for Amazon Prime. Hopefully, the bugs will get worked out soon.

    • Crystal September 08, 2010 at 05:23 am

Try again today; they said they’ve fixed the glitches some were experiencing last night.

  • Amy September 08, 2010 at 01:43 am

Also, in the past, you could not sign up for a free trial of Prime if you had already had one. Does anyone know if this is the case here?

  • Rachael September 08, 2010 at 04:17 am

I had a free trial of Prime last year and it seems to be interfering with the free 3-month trial that comes with the Amazon Mom account.

  • Melissa September 08, 2010 at 05:18 am

Help! I can’t find the do not renew checkbox.

    • Crystal September 08, 2010 at 05:22 am

Read my update on the post. It appears you don’t need to worry about opting out of the auto-renewal.

  • Michelle September 08, 2010 at 05:28 am

I can’t get it to work either. It just keeps shutting down.

  • C Lawson September 08, 2010 at 05:32 am

Doesn’t look like it auto renews – but looks like you can earn additional months up to a year and you can add a family member to your prime membership!!!
    ——————————————
When you join Amazon Mom, you receive FREE Two-Day Shipping with Amazon Prime for the first 3 months of your membership. For each you spend within a single order in the Baby Store, we’ll grant you an additional month of Amazon Prime shipping benefits. You can earn up to one year of Amazon Prime shipping benefits from the date you joined Amazon Mom. In the third month of your membership, we will send you an e-mail that tracks your spending progress in the Baby Store. This e-mail will contain a current end date for your shipping benefit based on how much you have spent in the Baby Store. Visit the Manage Prime Membership page to add a family member.

      @C Lawson,
Thank you for posting this! It would help if we actually read the terms and conditions instead of being in a hurry and just checking yes! Thank you! I’m excited! Subscribe and save diapers are 150 for about $25 instead of about $19 for 70!! And gluten free crackers!

  • Agnes September 08, 2010 at 05:34 am

can i do again if i’ve done prime b/f? thank you

    • Crystal September 08, 2010 at 05:36 am

You should be able to, but let us know if you can’t get it to work.

  • Nathalie September 08, 2010 at 05:57 am

Worked for me. There’s no auto renew in my account, but I put something in my cart and at checkout the FREE 2-day shipping option is there. Thanks for sharing this offer with us, I’m thrilled :)

  • Nathalie September 08, 2010 at 05:58 am

… and also, I should add that I had a free 3-month trial at the end of 2009 and this works for me so it doesn’t look to be a problem if you had it before.

  • Agnes September 08, 2010 at 06:37 am

    THANKS……..Very exciting stuff lol
Will do it right now. ;O)

  • Christie September 08, 2010 at 07:02 am

If you don’t have to buy anything right away I would be willing to bet that this promotion will go on for at least the 2.5 weeks until your 3 months would cover Christmas. Amazon Prime is AWESOME for ordering last minute presents and either having them come in time or shipping them directly to save even more time. And Amazon always has great toy deals right before Christmas.

  • Meghan September 08, 2010 at 07:23 am

Awesome deal! I’ve found it very hard to find a better deal on the Huggies diapers that I buy from Sam’s club. But this deal saves me almost $.05/diaper – plus it makes me eligible for Amazon Prime free shipping – which is awesome at Christmas time!!!

  • Agnes September 08, 2010 at 08:00 am

    Thanks….it was so easy!

  • Melissa @ Anxious for Nothing September 08, 2010 at 12:03 pm

Yay! I’ve had a trial of Amazon Prime before and loved it, too…as you said, it’s great combined with Amazon giftcards from Swagbucks. SO EXCITED for this deal! Thank you!

  • Elizabeth September 08, 2010 at 03:24 pm

I am so excited!!!! I’ve been saving my Swagbucks gcs for a new carseat for our new little one coming–now I can get it for free w/o even shipping!!!!!! Thanks for posting, and I’m so glad I’ve waited until now to make my purchase! Hopefully I can get some diapers cheap, too! :)

  • Heather Speer September 09, 2010 at 07:19 am

Just wondering if I signed up for the subscribe and save option for diapers in the baby store if that purchase will count towards my extra month of Prime membership. Does anybody know?

  • Margaret September 11, 2010 at 07:26 am

fyi, it appears that the month by month extension for $25 or more purchases is only purchases from the baby store.
