I love this idea! Would have never thought of it! Thank you!

That is very cool. Another thing you can do with scrapbook paper to decorate… If you work in a cubicle… I decorated my cube walls with 50′s pattered scrapbook paper i picked up at Walmart a couple years ago. Just used small pins with the ball on the tip in multi colors. Very cute and something to look at raather than grey cube walls!

The link is not working for me :-(

I love this idea! I used a beautiful 12×12 paper as part of the centerpieces at my wedding reception. I now know of a good way to use it! Can’t wait to try this out – thanks for sharing. Now I just need to find cheap frames.

My stepmother did this in the downstairs bathroom and it looked great!

I love this idea. We are getting ready to put our house up for sale and this would be an easy way to decorate my master bedroom on the big empty wall!!

I can’t get the link to work.

Laura September 29, 2010 at 2:10 pm

@Laura, It’s working for me now. Love this idea! So easy to change for different seasons.

I saw something similar online or in a magazine but a large number of smaller frames. I think they used Ikea frames that were around $1 each.

Daisha September 29, 2010 at 12:54 pm

The link isn’t working for me either, but I’m very interested in how to make them!

Super neat idea! Thanks for sharing!

This is such a good idea. I looked at some square wall hangings with neat patterns and they were over $200 each. This will be a really good alternative.

I can’t get site to open. I use a Mac, any other Mac users having a problem?

Kim September 29, 2010 at 1:41 pm

BEAUTIFUL! Does anyone have ideas of where to buy scrapbooking paper? Or other things that would look good in the frames?

Laura September 29, 2010 at 2:11 pm

@Kim, Buy scrapbooking paper at hobby lobby or michaels when it’s on sale.

Hi Kim, I’ve decorated with scrapbook paper too and what I do is wait for a great deal on scrapbook paper packs (I’m not a scrapbooker but I think that’s what they’re called). I scored a really great pack of heavy-weight paper from Michael’s this way and I think I paid about $9. The thing I like about buying the packs is that you have coordinating colors without having to come up with a scheme yourself (which is always my challenge) if you buy each sheet separately. And then I have a bunch of scrapbook paper left over that I’ve used for covers for my planner/calendar which I make as well. I’ve found I’ve gotten a lot of use out of that one pack of paper…and I still have a bunch left!

Craft stores like Hobby Lobby and Michael’s have large scrapbooking paper sections. I actually have the same paper you see in the tutorial, it was from a book of paper they they used to have at Hobby Lobby (I found my in the clearance section last year). My basement walls are the same color of those in the picture too. Crazy!

Scrapbooking paper can be bought anywhere! Walmart, Hobby Lobby, and Michael’s are places I buy mine. At our Hobby Lobby, 12×12 scrapbook paper is $0.59 each. And a lot of times it can be bought at half off.

This is such a good idea! I have an empty wall in our living room above a shelf and I’ve been trying decide what to hang that would be inexpensive but add some color. I’m going to try this as soon as I find a good deal on some frames!

This is such a unique idea! I love this and I am absolutely trying it! Thanks for the post!

My scrapbooking days are over (at least until the kiddos are older and photobooks online stop being so easy), so this is a perfect way to use up that paper I still have and spruce up my bedroom’s bare walls!
Thanks for the frugal decorating ideas!
