Are you on quest to make some inexpensive decorations for your home? I love the ideas you’re coming up with!

Kim K September 30, 2010 at 7:51 am

I would love to see the instructions for this, but everytime I go to this blog, it won’t completely load because of adware.

Katie September 30, 2010 at 9:00 am

@Kim K,
Same problem for me. I can get to the first picture and that is it! I love the idea though.

I am loving the posts on decorating your home inexpensively!!!!!! Getting some great ideas!! Hubby, I need your help with the saw….;)

Heather@Family Friendly Frugality September 30, 2010 at 8:02 am

those are really awesome! I am crafty when it comes to fabric and paper but woodworking has eluded me so far. This looks easy enough even for me!

Elizabeth September 30, 2010 at 8:09 am

Super cute! Thanks for sharing! I think I’d go for the cedar, though, because that pressure treated pine is treated with some nasty chemicals I don’t want in my house.

Megan September 30, 2010 at 12:11 pm

@Elizabeth, I was thinking the same thing, though I bet there are plenty of other non-treated options if you purchase wood meant for indoor use (she bought outdoor use wood).

micayla September 30, 2010 at 8:15 am

I agree with Elizabeth. I think both MSM and the original author of the tutorial should post a disclaimer about using pressure treated wood. It really shouldn’t be used indoors.

I could not open as well with all the ads that kept popping up…would love the instructions…

Sabrina September 30, 2010 at 9:07 am

I got the adware too…I thought, for a moment, it was my computer but then I saw the rest of the comments.

katie@Impatientlyprayingforpatience September 30, 2010 at 7:44 pm

@Sabrina, Sorry about the pop ups. I signed up with a advertiser that I didn’t realize was going to do pop ups and thought I deleting everything from them…apparently I didn’t. I am working on it, but not sure what else to exactly do. So sorry. It isn’t anything intentional.

great ideas for home decorating on the cheap ~ THX!!

I have seen those posts in the trash pile sometimes, all chippy white & shabby chic… now I’ll be sure to snag ‘em!

Shelby September 30, 2010 at 9:13 am

That’s a great idea! I’m loving all the cheap DIY projects your posting! It gives me ideas ansd motivation for my own house. I have a big old picture frame that I got FREE at an auction. There is no glass in it and I was wondering what I was going to do with it. I wanted to paint it and make something, because the frame is awesome! I’m going to make it into a kitchen chalkboard by painting chalkboard paint onto a backing for it. I’m so excited!

Thanks for this link!!! I have been saving 4 of those since we took them off our condo 8 years ago!! My plan was to make a table, but I like this idea better!

Jo Marie September 30, 2010 at 9:21 am

Crystal,
I am really enjoying your recent posts on cheap decor ideas! Thanks!

Lisa September 30, 2010 at 9:38 am

Hi, MSM-
Do you have a pop up banner that you know of? I visited your site last night and one came up across the bottom of the screen. Then today at work it popped up again. It has to do with opinions, I think. Just thought I’d double check. It was new for me on your site!!

I *think* my ad service was doing a test of something and they said that a pop-up opinion banner might show up for a handful of people (like 1% I think it was) for a short amount of time. I thought that it was over with, but I guess not. Thanks for letting me know it showed up; I’m not a fan of pop-ups, either. :(

Lisa September 30, 2010 at 1:11 pm

@Crystal, Ok! Not a complaint… another site I follow had pop-ups turn up, and she was not aware. It turned out to be a problem with her site protection or something. Just wanted to be sure you knew!

Thank you!

Jan September 30, 2010 at 2:50 pm

i got the pop up too

Amber September 30, 2010 at 9:54 am

@Lisa
I experienced the same issue with a pop up banner this morning when I was reading MSM. Not sure what that was. Never seen it before.

Claudia September 30, 2010 at 10:03 am

This is brilliant! I will be hitting up Lowes soon

beth724@yahoo.com September 30, 2010 at 10:05 am

Clicked link but got a trojan infection. Happened twice!?

Sheryl September 30, 2010 at 11:04 am

I also got the trojan warning from my virus protection program.

april September 30, 2010 at 10:18 am

off topic.. but thought would share it.. its about soap.com. I bought the groupon the other day..so created an account at soap.com but still did not make any purchase.Today I got an email from soap.com with a code for 20% off first order “SAVETWENTY”.. i felt 20% is a good deal if combined with a few items that are already on sale.. can use groupon for next order

c. wilbur September 30, 2010 at 12:55 pm

i went through link to see candlesticks and my computer said: threat blocked. i wonder what’s going on?

Tricia September 30, 2010 at 1:14 pm

Be careful with this website. It seemed to have done something crazy to my computer…

Alison September 30, 2010 at 1:59 pm

Another great project idea, thanks so much. I just made displays for my front door from the Thrifty Decor Chick’s website that you posted the other day, $12 each and I’ve already gotten a ton of compliments. Not only were they inexpensive but I made them myself and couldn’t be prouder :)
I’m not exactly artsy…

Heidi September 30, 2010 at 2:31 pm

How sad! This website keeps causing my computer to freeze. It really looked like a fun project.

Amity September 30, 2010 at 2:54 pm

just like others…my computer said i was getting attacked but it was blocked by my norton. Hope the owner of this site is not doing it on purpose, kinda weird. Project looked very interesting.

amanda October 1, 2010 at 10:10 am

Crystal, thanks for all of the home decor posts- I take it that you’re working on outfitting your new home. I made the square leaf wreath (total cost $3 in dollar store materials + some glue that I had lying around) that you linked to earlier this week with my 3 year old last night. I need to glue a few leaves back on and will hang it up once I’m sure that this deluge is over. Thanks!
