My Staples in southern IN refused to take my coupon because it would be free! Drove clear across town and walked out empty handed even after asking at customer service. Assistant manager thought it seemed fine unless the “Not to be used with any other offer” included an item being on sale. I used the, but you get reimbursed for the coupon, right? logic. He called the next person up the chain of command who promptly told him no. Does anyone have a Staples written coupon policy?

This did not work for me. The store manager said that I cannot use coupons on sale items because my coupon said “not valid with any other offer”

I hear you Laura. Good thing not everyone does this. If I couldn’t use coupons on sale items at Kroger I’d give up couponing ;-)

I found out last night that you can’t use coupons at Office Max either. I was bummed. I was trying to use similar coupons. I put most of the things back but still got some good deals.

How about taking the ad to Walmart and price matching? And using your coupon? I did this last week with Dollar General’s ad because they were out of the Wisk on sale!

My staples took it, I paid 8 cents tax.

Great suggestion Melissa! I may try that. Sadly there here have been times in the past when my Walmart refused to honor an ad. Like one once from Toysrus for a really cheap DVD–they told me that the TRU price was a “gimmic” and did not qualify for price matching :-( It’s sure worth a try though.
