I have a confession to make: I’ve never made a photo book in my life.
I’ve posted lots of photo book deals, but never got around to trying them out because it seemed like it’d be a tedious and time-consuming thing and I try to limit my time on the computer as it is.
But, I had some extra time this weekend, so I decided to try and create my own photo book from Picaboo this weekend just to check it out. Wow! Never mind on my initial thoughts, it was super easy to create the photo book and I had so much fun doing so.
I also realized that this could be the “lazy” way to do photo albums. You see, I’ve always wanted to do photo albums for my children, but it just has never happened. I knew it would take me hours of work to pull off and I can never seem to find hours of time in my life to devote to something else.
Now I’m all excited because the options Picaboo offers are basically like doing my own scrapbook. However, instead of spending hours and hours and hours to piece a scrapbook together, I can put together a very nice photo book in less than two hours.
Best of all? It’s so much less expensive than buying all the supplies needed for scrapbooking — especially if you take advantage of the free and greatly-reduced photo book offers.
So, if you want to try your hand at making a photo book, through the end of August, 2010, you can get a Large Hardcover Photo Book from Picaboo for only the cost of shipping ($8.99). Here’s how:
::Go to Picaboo and enter your email address.
::Design a 20-page Photo Book.
::Use coupon code FREEBK at checkout and it should take off the price of the photo book and only charge you $8.99 for shipping (and tax, if applicable).
Please note that this offer is good for first-time customers only.

Glad you (finally!) tried to make a book! I agree that they are fun to make and less expensive than other options. Plus, if you end up needing a reprint, that’s a possibility – not so with traditional photo albums. We have been making “first year” books for each of our kids as well as a “family yearbook” each year. We get a copy for each kid, as well as one for us, and our thought is that by the time the kids leave home they’ll have a nice, fairly concise (because the books don’t take up too much room) log of memories to take with them.
Great idea, Susan J. I recently discovered that I lost some of my digital files when our computer crashed. (I thought I had backed up everything) Imagine my devastation to discover that I’m missing several pictures from my first son’s first year! And I wish that I had pictures from my youth to compare to my boys pics.
I love photo books! I make them for my mom each year with pics of the kids and I also make special ones for my kids when we do a “big” trip. (Norah and Ben visit the zoo, visit the beach, etc.). They love reading the stories about themselves. I try and take photos with the books in mind.
I love photo books- so much better than all that scrapbooking junk you have to lug around. Also they are the best thing ever when your kids start school and they come home with all this art work. I take a picture of each little masterpiece and make a photo book for each school year.
I have made several photo books from several companies. I did this one through picaboo a couple of weeks ago with our vacation pictures. My album has over 110 photos in it plus “journaling”. It shipped super fast and I had it in my hands within a few days after shipping. It is by far the best quality of book that I have received yet!! The program is a little tricky but stick with it and it will be well worth it. I highly recommend this one! And I couldn’t have even printed a hundred photos and bought a cheap-o album for $9. What a deal!!
I was emailed a coupon good for returning Picaboo customers, $10 off any Large book plus Free Standard Shipping. Use coupon code, AUGTEN, at check out. Expires at 11:59 pm Pacific Time on Aug 16, 2010.
That’s today, so hurry!
How many pages is this?
Up to 20 pages.
I also like to make educational books for my little guy. I just create the files on a print program (example: letter A with a picture of an apple), then he gets his very own book!
I am excited to try this site out, I love using digital books as christmas gifts. I looked at the website and noticed that there are many different styles of books. There is a wide range of prices for the different styles. Does this deal apply to all styles? Thank you
I looked again and found my answer sorry!!
I did one at the beginning of the year (they offered the same deal). I used to do the traditional scrapbook, but I’m never going back. I love all the backgrounds you can choose at Picaboo and much less time consuming. I now let my daughter make her own crafts from my scrapbooking stuff.
Any idea on how long this offer is good for?? We are going to the beach this weekend and I’d love to wait for the pictures of our trip to create one!
From what I’ve heard, it’s through the end of August.
How many photos can you put on 1 page? Do they charge per page or per photograph? Its not clear. Anybody know????
@Leslie McCaffety, Watch the walk through video after you download the app to your computer. It gives you all of the information you need to create your scrapbook, and gives you some helpful design tips.
As long as you only have 20 pages, you shouldn’t be charged any additional fees.
I just received my book & I absolutely love it!!! I brought it in to work & now everyone wants to make one! I think I got everyone as well as myself hooked!!!
I also just received my book. And absolutely loved it. I found the program very easy to use. It had all the tools that I had been missing with other companies. I mainly just want to say Thank You for the heads up on the internet ad for the special that Picaboo was running.
