If you were interested in trying out the E-Mealz Meal-Planning Service I reviewed last week, they’ve offered a coupon code for $2 off any subscription. Just use coupon code savemoney at checkout and you’ll get $2 off the purchase price. If you try it and don’t like it or find it helpful, you can cancel at any time.

Also, they just starting offering gluten-free menus — which I’m guessing some of you on gluten-free diets might find very helpful!

I just wanted to say how much I adore Emealz. They truly have made my life so much easier. Even if I don’t use it every single week it is nice to know it’s there to fall back on. In the colder weather months I find that it is super helpful because I don’t have the grill and fresh produce to fall back on so I’ll really use it then. And if you enter the code DAVE you save $2.50 on a three month subscription… every bit helps! :)

I like the idea of the GF menu since we’re gluten free, but I read in your post Crystal that the menus use alot of boxed/processed items. We don’t. We restrict the amount of sodium, HFCS, and other additives in our diets. In fact, if it didn’t fall from a tree, come up out of the ground, or have a mama, we pretty much don’t eat it. I emailed Customer Service and asked if I could see a sample GF menu first. I know other menu planning systems do that (I won’t mention one here since I’m not sure if it’s ok, but it’s the one endorsed by FlyLady).

@Angie,

I found this sample menu on their site. HTH.

I also try to follow the same food philosophy as you. Since my daughter has multiple allergies, I’d still have to modify the menu, so I don’t think I’d want to pay to try it yet. I just need to get organized and get a great list going like that!

@Cheri,
Fantastic! I’ll have to modify some (my husband doesn’t eat grain of any kind), but this is helpful!

I’d check out the menu samples. For some people, the menu plans probably use few processed foods. For us, it’s a lot because we use very few items from cans and boxes. Although I think you have us beat. :)

@Angie,
If you check on their website they have samples of every menu plan they offer. I am not sure if GF is up yet since it’s new but if it’s not I am sure they will send you a sample. We use the lowfat Walmart Family plan and it is fantastic. I too don’t like to use a ton of processed foods but I will take some short cut help here and there. I sometimes change things a bit but at least on the low fat option most meals are heavy with fruits/veggies as sides and not too much processed stuff. If anything using the menu has helped us cut down the processed things we were using. But, I am not sure if that holds true across all meal plans or is unique to the lowfat plan.
