Super Savings Saturday: A quick run to the health food store

We had a busy week this week, so I only had a chance to stop in at the health food store. I picked up a bag of green peppers reduced to $0.99 and two packages of organic greens reduced to $0.99 each.

A friend also gave us two dozen organic eggs she’d gotten really inexpensively (and she refused to let me pay for them!).

We’re off to Walgreens, Walmart and Dillon’s this afternoon to get some of the great deals there this week. Expect a full report next week on what deals we were able to get.

Number 23 has nothing to do with a shopping savings, it is a link to her post about IHOP.

Thanks for posting a linky for everyone. It is so fun to see what everyone is able to get during the week.

Did you find the $.55 coupons above the Organic Girl salad mix? I snagged a couple Thursday, but they did not have any marked down.

Oh, how I wish I was able to get those organic produce markdowns in my area. I paid $3 for 6 ears of corn today. Pricey but it was from a local farmer who had literally just picked them, so I was okay with paying a little more for freshness and to support a local farmer.

A friend and I went to Rite Aid on Thursday evening and snagged a deal and a half. Everything I got for $0.72. Now that is a deal!!

My bargain wasn’t produce but $131.83 of swimming clothes from Osh Kosh for $33.48 after their sale and 20% off $40 and $122 of clothes from Carters for $37.75 after sale and another 20% off $40

I look foward to reading your post each week!

I agree with the earlier comment about wishing that I could get those kinds of organic deals…even when they are marked down at our local grocery store, which is rare, they are at least 2-3 times that much! What a wonderful resource!

@Carrie Beth, wishing for a cheap organic source here too!

Your health food store posts always make me wish we had a store like that around here!

What is the name of your health food store? I’m wondering if I’m missing something where I live. You get GREAT deals there! We’re trying to eat a lot more organics and wish I could get those prices.

Crystal June 12, 2010 at 9:37 pm

It’s a local store only, unfortunately. :(

I always try to get organic food, mainly eggs and meat. Food Lion more often have the organic chicken at very low price (<$3 sometimes), and that's the only place I found so far with that low price.

LOL – one could punningly say you got the eggs cheep, cheep! :-)
