I’m having difficulties rolling my ECB’s, because I keep getting the $3/$15 coupon and adding stuff on there that we could use to bring the total to $15. Lol.. Now I have $3 in ECB’s. =(

Claire at Saving Money Plan May 23, 2010 at 1:18 am

Thanks for the linky!

Jessica May 23, 2010 at 4:48 am

Anyone able to find the True North coupon?

Emily May 24, 2010 at 9:00 am

@Jessica,
I can’t find it either.

Karen May 24, 2010 at 7:58 pm

@Emily, Neither can I

Rita Goldman May 23, 2010 at 6:33 am

The Gillette coupon is for buy one deoderant get gillete body wash free. Are there ECB’sfor the deoderant and the wash?

Michael May 23, 2010 at 8:53 am

@Rita Goldman,

There is a coupon for deodorant and body wash, but there is also a BOGO for body wash only. It has an expiration date of 5/31 as opposed to the 6/30 date on the deodorant one.

Jen May 23, 2010 at 4:56 pm

@Rita Goldman, There should have been a B1G1 for the body wash in the same inserts with the deoderants. Usually they have a full page with maybe 3-4 coupons of different offers, which will include the buy deoderant get the body wash free and the B1G1 for the body wash.

Margaret May 23, 2010 at 2:18 pm

If you have the $2 coupons that Vocalpoint sent with their sample, then the Pantene is only $.50 each.

Jeremy May 23, 2010 at 3:33 pm

The Gilette deal can be made even better by combining two coupons from the P&G Insert:

Buy 3 Gilette body washes
Use the B1G1 Gilette body wash coupon
Use the $4/2 Gilette body wash coupon

This makes the first one free, and the other two will be $2 each. Total = $4, get $8 in ECB back!

Jen May 23, 2010 at 4:58 pm

@Jeremy, Dang.. I just went today too and picked up 4 body washes and 2 B1G1 coupons (with just the free part in mind). I wasn’t even thinking about turning this into a money maker. That’s ok.. my husband has enough body wash and soap now to last him at least a year. We’re well stocked! =)

Jeremy May 23, 2010 at 5:03 pm

@Jen, Huh, I wonder if you could use two B1G1 coupons and one $4/2 coupons to get 4 body washes for $4? (And still get $8 ECBs.)

Jen May 23, 2010 at 7:25 pm

@Jeremy, Does your CVS let you do that? I haven’t tried (and sometimes I feel like I’m just “pushing it” by getting free things in the first place.. lol). I guess then technically you could even go further and use two B1G1 coupons and two $4/2 coupons. Making it free, plus $8 overage in ECBS.

Jeremy May 23, 2010 at 8:37 pm

@Jen, My CVS scans the coupons and if they go through, they don’t give me any trouble. The CVS down the street doesn’t care much for internet coupons. Let me see if I can explain the math:

Buy 4 body washes.
Use 2 B1G1 coupons. This means you have used a coupon 2 out of 4 body washes. You’re still paying full price for the other 2.
Use the $4/2 coupon. You’ve now used a coupon on all 4 body washes.

You wouldn’t be able to use any more manufacturer coupons, but it would be $4 for 4 body washes and you’d get $8 in ECBs back.

Jeremy May 23, 2010 at 8:42 pm

@Jen, Oh and don’t worry about “getting stuff for free”, the store still gets paid by the manufacturers when they redeem the coupons, and they’re probably getting reimbursed for the ECBs as well. The manufacturer gets to record a sale, which makes their financial statements look good. Everyone wins!

You should read the book “Retail Anarchy” by Sam Pocker, and watch his documentary “Your Mileage May Vary (YMMV).” He gives some great insight into how the coupon business works, and has some hilarious stories.

Suzanne May 24, 2010 at 8:06 am

I went to CVS yesterday and used the Gilette B1G1 coupon PLUS the $4/2 coupon – bought 2 body washes, paid $0.48 for both AND got $8 ECB. Had no problems at all; I even asked the cashier if I could use both and she said yes.

Michele H May 24, 2010 at 10:02 am

We had the Ragu sauce on sale for 3/$5 and if you spent $10, you get 3ECBs back. I had two $1. coupons from yesterday’s paper and ended up getting 6 for $5! Not sure why this deal wasn’t mentioned in the post…
And they had some Pampers on clearance for $4.50 a pack (size 5, 40 count) and I had 5 coupons. Ended up spending $15 for 5 packs of 40 diapers… I was dancing in the aisles!!!

Andrea Q May 24, 2010 at 1:49 pm

Our CVS has Mega packs of Huggies on clearance. I got a great deal Saturday!

Also, there’s a $1/1 Pantene coupon on the back cover of the Parade magazine from Sunday’s paper.
