Thanks for posting the linky! It looks like you may have forgotten to change the code for the CVS linky, since it’s posting links to both the CVS and Walgreens links. Thanks!

Carrie May 15, 2010 at 9:54 pm

OK, it may have taken me all evening, but I’ve figured out how to use my $5/$30 from email tomorrow morning.

janeb9 May 16, 2010 at 12:47 am

does the cover girl BOGO for face cosmetics be used for lips cosmetics deal

Honey May 16, 2010 at 4:50 am

@janeb9,
My coupon scanned, but it only took off $5.99 once. So I was unable to make that deal work at my cvs. I know at other stores you can use a b1g1 coupon with a b1g1 sale and get two otems free, but it didn’t work for me at my cvs-ymmv. I would be interested to hear if it works for others.

Honey May 16, 2010 at 4:53 am

@Honey,
On second thought, the coupon did not beep, but obviously the one $5.99 that came off my total would have probably been the cvs “get one free” and not due to the coupon.

Barb May 17, 2010 at 11:12 am

@Honey,

I can’t seem to get the B1G1 coupon on a B1G1 sale. But should I keep trying different stores?

Becca May 16, 2010 at 10:09 am

@janeb9, my cvs said the b1g1 face coupon could not be used for the lip gloss. But still scored some great deals. thanks, moneysavingmom.

Lana May 16, 2010 at 10:51 am

@janeb9, I was nervous to do this last week, but it worked for me! The cashier didn’t say anything, I’m not sure if she noticed or if she just scans them threw and if they don’t beep it’s okay? However, she did write 8.99 on the coupon.

chrystal m May 16, 2010 at 5:04 am

I have a $1 off coupon on a hair care product, I hate the cvs shampoo any other ideas of things I can get free or near free with the coupon??

Amy May 16, 2010 at 10:16 am

@chrystal m,

Good question…I keep getting that $1 CVS Hair coupon too!

Lana May 16, 2010 at 10:49 am

@Amy,
I am a bit of a hair care snob, but I used it to buy CVS conditioner, it works well to leave in your hair overnight or while you are doing chores around the house to extra moisturize your hair :) I got 3 free conditioners! You can put in in your hair and blow dry it for a bit to get it heated and it will make your hair silky smooth!

Dawn May 16, 2010 at 1:07 pm

@chrystal m, I know this is going to sound weird, but I don’t mind the CVS Kiwi shampooo when I use it as bubble bath. :)

melody May 16, 2010 at 3:53 pm

@chrystal m, not sure if I am getting your question…but I don’t think it has to be cvs brand…I thought it was just saying it has to be at cvs (which is obvious so I don’t know why they put that there) but I used my $1 hair coupon last week on pantene and today on my herbal essence. I’m new to cvs but I asked the guy and he agreed with me…and the computer didn’t beep …hope that was right :)

Amy May 19, 2010 at 10:55 am

@melody,
Oh wow, really??? That would be awesome b/c I swear that’s the only coupon I ever get at the machine and I don’t care for their hair products! I’ll have to ask today when I go!!

Amy May 16, 2010 at 10:18 am

Does anyone know what happens if you return something to CVS or Walgreens that you had used to take advantage of a deal? What happens to the ECBs or RR you earned from that product? (What if you already spent the ECBs or RR?) I’m rethinking a purchase from 2 weeks ago that I now realize I won’t use…can I return it with a receipt?

Lana May 16, 2010 at 10:45 am

@Amy, I think they will prorate what you will get back, for example, if you spent 20 and got 10 ecbs back you will only get 10 dollars back, but I’m not sure, maybe return it w/o a receipt ?

Lana May 16, 2010 at 10:47 am

@Lana,
I’m saying w/o a receipt because I’ve done this at store called Beall’s (it’s in FL, like a clothing store) and the cashier was VERY rude because I got money off that purchase with rewards money. She told me I was practically stealing from the store and made a huge deal about it when all I wanted to do was get a different size! The cashier wouldn’t allow me with the receipt (not their policy, I checked later AND wrote a letter to their corporate). So I had to leave and exchange w/o the receipt.

Marie Riley May 16, 2010 at 3:26 pm

@Amy,
Many people say to bring the ecb’s that you’ve earned back to show them that you are not just trying to be sneaky and make money. If you’ve already spent them it might be a good idea to just hold onto the product or donate it. I think it’s one of those situations where it could make other couponers potentially look bad.

When it comes down to it, honesty is usually the best policy. Explain to the manager that you are trying to be legit and really don’t need the product. What is the best thing to do?

Amy May 16, 2010 at 3:28 pm

@Marie Riley,
Thanks, ladies! I wasn’t trying to be sneaky…just practical. I recently started this whole coupon thing and I got a little carried away my first few trips (“spending money to save money”) I took it back today and got the pro-rated price. Everyone was happy! :) Thanks again!

Emily May 16, 2010 at 12:20 pm

With regards to the Dawn dishsoap deal, check and see if your CVS is including the Dawn with Olay Hand Renewal soap in this sale. Mine is, and if you have the Home Made Simple coupon booklet, there’s a $1/1 coupon for Hand Renewal. I’m going to buy 2 and use the $1/1 coupon along with the .25/1 coupon to get them for less than .25 each.

mommalovesmee May 16, 2010 at 12:39 pm

thank you!

Dawn May 16, 2010 at 1:10 pm

Scott paper towels are 4.99 and there are $1 Qs in May All You mag. (Our Walmart stopped carrying Scott towels, so this is an extra great find).

Also bought 2 Nivea lotions w/ free body wash attached @7.99, used the $4/2 Q from the Nivea happy hour and got back another $5 ECB!

And Colgate ProClinical is $3.99, there were $1 Qs in the SS today and you receive $2 in ECBs (Limit 2).

Dee Rick May 16, 2010 at 2:23 pm

If you are getting the Blade razor scan your card first. You can use the $1 off CVS cosmetic ??? (I spent it so I forgot what the next word was LOL) Q toward the razor for a $1 gain. Blade is a CVS brand/ mens razor a cosmetic tool!

Marie Riley May 16, 2010 at 3:27 pm

I will warn everyone that my husband hated that razor. What have you all thought about it?

Guest May 16, 2010 at 6:49 pm

I went to two CVS stores today. I needed to buy the Blade razor. I was told at both stores that folks with multiple cards wiped out the shelves. How do these people rationalize using multiple cards when others want to participate too. It just seems like greed to me. I am sorry if I am offending anyone.

Marie May 16, 2010 at 10:53 pm

@Guest, Honestly if my cashier saw me whip out more than one card I really doubt she’d let me use it. I definitely agree that it is not right. Did you ask for a raincheck? CVS is usually pretty good about that.

patti May 16, 2010 at 6:58 pm

Is that patio set, table, chairs and umbrella a good deal? I think I want that.

Jessica May 16, 2010 at 11:30 pm

CVS irritated me.
They emailed me a coupon for $3/$15. So I went in to use it. Then the lady told me it was ringing up as “not matching the card” I used. Except I have one card and it was emailed to the account on my card, so she wouldn’t let me use it. I ended up buying another pack of diapers because I didn’t need them and I was frustrated at that point.

I don’t understand how they can email me a coupon to my account and then say it doesn’t match my card! ARGH!!

Trish May 17, 2010 at 6:35 am

Does CVS have monthly ECB deals? I noticed that certain Stayfree pads were regular price $3.99 and there was a tag that said if you bought 1 you got $2 in ECB’s (limit 3 or 5, cant remember). If you still have the $2/1 Stayfree coupons, they are free after ECB’s. The tag on the shelf said it was running 5/1-5/29. Didnt see this adverstised in the ad.

Amy May 17, 2010 at 7:43 am

@Trish,
The CVS website says they have monthly ECB deals but I asked at my store yesterday and they said no…maybe my cashier didn’t know what they were talking about?? :)

Amy May 19, 2010 at 11:00 am

@Amy,
I asked the store manager yesterday and she said they stopped printing a monthly flyer back in January but the deals are there…you just have to look for them throughout the store.

Aubrie Williams May 17, 2010 at 7:46 am

Thanks for the linky!

CC Hall May 17, 2010 at 8:25 am

I couldn’t get the Cover Girl deal at my CVS. The coupon wouldn’t scan, and they said it had to be a face product – powder or foundation – like what’s pictured on the coupon. Apparently, they don’t think a person’s lips are on the face.

Claire at Saving Money Plan May 17, 2010 at 12:07 pm

Hmm…none of the linkys are coming up for me on the drugstore match-ups. Is anyone else having this problem?

Brooke May 17, 2010 at 1:10 pm

Can anyone offer an explanation why I don’t receive ANY of the $3/$15 or $5/$25 type of coupons in my weekly emails from CVS?? I use to get them when I signed up last year, but they stopped including and of the $x/$xx coupons in their emails, so I only get an advertisement for their online sales… I think they stopped coming right after the Back-To-School sales events last year and around that same time I got a ton of almost-free makeup during their cosmetics clearance event using manuf coupons… could my account be flagged or something??

Laura Martin May 17, 2010 at 2:24 pm

I can never get the Colgate smile coupons (which is also the speed stick coupon link for this week).. to print a coupon. I download the coupon “activator” or whatever.. it always says completed, the coupon will print when you click the “next” button… nothing ever prints.. :(

Need A Nap2 May 20, 2010 at 8:16 pm

@Laura Martin,
You might try a different Internet browser. If you’re using Internet Explorer (IE), you might try Firefox or Safari next time. I hate it when coupons don’t print b/c if they “processed” it then you usually can’t print it again even though it never printed out for you.

We use Firefox and love it most of the time. I still open IE to print some coupons b/c they seem to work better there but mostly it’s trial and error and trying to remember which work in which browser. Maybe someone else can offer more help. I’ve been able to print Colgate, etc coupons before without any trouble.
