I’m going to get 2 Tylenol PM’s so I can $1.00 in overage & then buy 1 Lady Speed Stick and pay only $1.00 (plus tax) and then get $1.00 in RR. So pretty much 2 Tylenol’s for free & 1 Lady Speed Stick for free also!

I did this last night, except I bought two and used a $4/any 2 Tylenol from Safeway’s January coupon booklet with the $1.50 IVC. I also used that same Q for two packs of tylenol cold to pay $6 and earn a $5 RR. I haven’t shopped Wags in a LONG time, but the deals this week just seemed too good to pass by.

Does walgreens actually pay you overages?

Amanda March 3, 2010 at 1:02 pm

@Jennifer,
Never for me…I usually combine overages with other good deals to lower oop or get something free :)

Amber March 3, 2010 at 4:11 pm

@Jennifer, No, there is no store anywhere that pays you money back. But, if you hand the coupons over in the right order you can use the overages to cover the cost of something else… So they wont pay you money, but you can walk out of the store with free items!

Heather March 4, 2010 at 7:45 am

@Amber, I’ve had Food Lion hand me 11 cents before. :) I also turned down 2 cents from Farm Fresh once because I felt silly taking their money AND their food.

Can we use the wags coupons on top of manufacture coupons?

Ellen March 3, 2010 at 12:55 pm

Do I hand them the mfg coupon first THEN the Wags coupon? Or vice versa?

Rachel @ Surviving The Stores March 3, 2010 at 1:21 pm

Yes, make sure you give them the manufacturer’s coupon FIRST. If you give them the Wags coupon first then the machine will beep on the manuf. coupon and they will have to adjust it down. But if the manuf. is first then the Wags could will go through without any problems and you will get the overage to apply to other things in your order (you can’t get cash back).

M March 3, 2010 at 1:46 pm

Only RR will provide overage. You shouldn’t be posting these inaccuracies…Free plus tax is best you’ll do.

T March 3, 2010 at 2:54 pm

@M, actually overage IS possible i do it all the time to buy other things that are not on sale/ don’t have Q’s..milk is what i’ll probably buy for this dea with the tylenol THANK YOU!

Kelly March 3, 2010 at 2:55 pm

@M,
You can buy a filler item to use the overage or the cashier will adjust the amount of the coupon making it free.

amy March 3, 2010 at 2:30 pm

The walgreens coupons state that they are manufactures coupons.
I would not use 2 manufactures coupons on one item. It is important that we use coupons correctly so stores remain friendly to coupon users.

LJ March 3, 2010 at 3:25 pm

Actually, if you look carefully at the WAGS coupon, it starts with a 0, not a 5 like man. coupons, and there is no place for them to submit the coupon to get reimbursed from the company. So, while it may say it is a man. coupon, it really is NOT.

Amber March 3, 2010 at 4:08 pm

@amy, I’ve done this many a times at target, wags & Rite-Aid, and Kroger…. all of these stores take a Manufacture’s coupon & their store coupon for the same item. B/c the company for the product reimburses the store for their coupon & the store company does their’s… So store exclusive coupons are only good at the store stated (even though Wags coupons say Manufacture coupon, you cant use it anywhere else, so in fact it is a Walgreens coupon & can be stacked with a regular coupon).

Beth March 4, 2010 at 6:18 am

In response to Amy, THANK YOU! I am a coupon-a-holic and happen to work at walgreens and all it does when you use coupons wrong at the register is make us more suspicous and analyze you more! Lets try to keep these relationships honest so we can give you the best deals

Lindsay March 3, 2010 at 3:00 pm

I bought 2 Tylenol PM, 1 Nivea lip care & 2 Frappucinos. With the various coupons, OOP was 89 cents including tax. The Nivea absorbed the overage perfectly. Didn’t have the BOGO coupon or that would have been even better.

Cassie March 4, 2010 at 6:11 pm

The WAG I went to refused to do this deal. The cashier wouldn’t even try to scan them because she the WAG combined with manufacturers coupon would be .01 cheaper than total cost. She called the manager over and the manager refused as well and said she would NOT adjust the price down. I hate the service at Wags.

Barb Simeon March 4, 2010 at 8:03 pm

Tried this last night at they would not accept both coupons. The Walgreens coupon does say it’s a manufacturer’s coupon. The cashier also told me the computer was changed to allow only one — either store or manufacturer’s — but not both. I still used the $2/1 coupon and got each of these for $0.99, so not a bad deal.

Sharon March 5, 2010 at 8:37 am

kimie March 7, 2010 at 12:10 am

I was also in trying to print them tonight & it just kept spinning. Will they reset these at some point?
