Crystal,

How would one go about getting a Walgreens March booklet of coupons?

Thanks,
Kelly

@Kelly,
These should be at the front of the store by the sale flyer.

@Kelly, Kelly, they have those booklets in the front of your Walgreens store by the ads. They put out a new one each month! Good Luck.

@Melanie W, I was able to do the deal! I got one Brilliant Brunette shampoo and one BB conditioner with the coupon from the Walgreens March booklet (that the cashier handed me) and 2 coupons from this past weekend’s paper – at $0.99 each! Amazing!

Where I can find the Smart Source insert?

Ginny March 9, 2010 at 12:07 pm

I have searched my 3/7 ss over and can’t find these coupons :( Maybe they were not released in my area.

Kristi March 11, 2010 at 10:20 am

@Ginny,

I searched mine three times and iddn’t find one. Very dissapointed! I wonder why they would release it in some areas and not in others.

Zena March 9, 2010 at 1:17 pm

I also don’t have it in my 3/7 (NC). That Brilliant Brunette line is worth not having a coupon for, though!

I didn’t have the coupon either….But the Renpure Shampoo/Conditioner is BOGO and my store had try me free rebates on it!
2 free after rebate!
Enjoy!

Hello! Love your site. I was in Walgreen’s yesterday. Was told by cashier, then the assistant manager that they would NO LONGER accept a manufacturer coupon with a Walgreen’s (from monthly coupon booklet) coupon. Is this just Michigan stores? Anyway I called the corporate office and asked and they said “I am most sure you can use both, but it is up to the store manager to make the rules.” So I am expecting a call sometime soon from the store manager. Anyone else have this type of problem??

Rosie T March 10, 2010 at 8:31 am

@Aileen, so basically, corporate told you that they don’t have a corporate coupon policy and that they let the individual store managers (who are often uninformed about coupon use and think that coupons hurt their store) make up their own store-by-store policy. Its this reason that I prefer to frequent Rite Aid, who has a very clear corporate policy that they’ve made available to their consumers.

Aileen March 10, 2010 at 3:07 pm

@Rosie T, I so totally agree with you.

Where in Michigan are you? I am in Kalamazoo & have issues all the time.

Aileen March 10, 2010 at 3:08 pm

@holi e., Monroe. Just a few miles from Toledo, Ohio.

Nikki March 11, 2010 at 12:38 am

@Aileen, I was told today in a WA store the coupons in the Walgreen’s booklet are actually manufacturer’s coupons & so I couldn’t use both.

Christina March 10, 2010 at 8:28 am

I tried the John Frieda deal on Monday and it wouldn’t let me use both coupons on one product. The cashier offered to have the manager come over but that is always a hassle and our manager is not the most pleasant to work with. I usually walk out of there thinking that I am never going back to Walgreens and I need to just stick with CVS. On a positive note, I was able to get several packs of pull-ups on clearance for $2.68 and use the $2/1 Pull-ups coupons and a few packs of Walgreens brand diapers for around $2 each.

My local Walgreen’s will not accept the ss coupon with the March coupon book coupons either. They said they are both “manufacturer” coupons, and it is clearly printed on them. Bummer. I’m in Bay Area Cali

Julie March 10, 2010 at 7:34 pm

I am a Walgreens store manager in Fl. and I agree with all of you. We get our money back on Mfg. coupons. I say bring it on. Often times I advertise these coupon stacking savings in my store. More sales more money. I would never say no to using both coupons.

Aileen March 11, 2010 at 12:44 pm

@Julie, I received a call back from the manager at the Walgreen’s store I went to on Tuesday. He said all the changes are recent. Also on the coupon booklet , he said it is the manufacturer that is not letting customers use their man. coupon and Wag coupon. He also said SOME of the wag IVC’s (coupon booklet coupons) will go through with a man. coupon. He said it wasn’t Walgreens it was the maker of the products that made the changes. Is this true????

Melissa March 10, 2010 at 7:52 pm

I’m in Columbus, Ohio and my Walgreens accepted both coupons no questions asked. Never used John Freida products before, but for $.99, I couldn’t pass up the offer. I loved it! Thanks for posting this!

Melissa March 10, 2010 at 7:55 pm

Oh yeah…I also purchased by “normal” shampoo, Fruictis, which was BOGO 50% off this week and I combined this offer with 2 separate coupons for $1/1. With all of my coupons and the sales, I got 1 bottle of John Freida shampoo and 2 bottles of Fruictis shampoo for $5 (pre-tax).

amy March 10, 2010 at 8:21 pm

I was also given the stiff arm when I tried to use both coupons. The second checker (maybe the manager?), told me they had adjusted the registers so they would not accept more then one coupon anymore. Really now? How’s that for a creative ‘NO’? I’m in Atlanta.

Hi, I’m new!
What’s a smartsource insert???

–Would love to get in on these deals!

Brittany March 11, 2010 at 11:13 am

I just wish we lived near a Wal-greens… I use John Frieda products all the time and it’s hard to get them reasonably priced where I am.

But… I’m moving to San Antonio! Looks like I’ll have more options soon.

I’m curious about SmartSource as well… do they only come in the paper?

Thanks for all your tips and advice!
