You can potentially get Purex for free at Walgreens this week! Here’s how:
Buy 2 Purex–on sale Buy One, Get One free (2 for $5.99)
Use the Buy One, Get One Free coupon from the 2/21 RedPlum insert
Get both free after the coupon and sale (the store gives you one free with their sale, the manufacturer gives you one free with the coupon)
Not all stores accept a Buy One, Get One coupon in a conjunction with a Buy One, Get One sale when you only buy 2. If that’s the case at your store, you could buy 3 and use one Buy One, Get One coupon and you’ll get all three for $5.99–which is still a pretty good deal for Purex.
There’s also a great deal on Dentyne gum:
Dentyne 12 piece–on sale for $0.69 with in-ad coupon
Use $1/2 coupon from the 02/28 SmartSource insert
$0.19 each after coupons
Thanks, Clippin with Carie and KouponKaren!

You shouldn’t just buy 3 of them… BUY 4 and use two coupons, pay $5.99 for 4 and not only 3!
Zina, that was only if your store doesn’t allow you to get both free. If they don’t allow that, they likely also won’t allow you to use 2 coupons on four, because that’d mean you’d be getting four for free–as far as I know.
@Crystal,
I think what Zina means is this (if you store won’t let you have them straight up free with Q)
Buy 2 Purex @ $5.99 each
Get 2 free with store promo
use 1 BOGO coupon -$5.99 (since you’re buying 2 they should let this one through)
Total: 4 Purex for $5.99
@Rosie T, Actually, it would be 4 for $3, right, because they are BOGO at 2/$5.99 (according to what Crystal wrote on top).
@Rosie T, Nevermind…just re-read the pricing. Still, 4 for $5.99 isn’t too bad…and they shouldn’t have to “let” you do that…it’s just how the math works with the sale/coupons.
@Rosie T, Whats funny, Kim, is I made that exact same math error in a comment on another forum. =) You’re right, they SHOULD let us have both free after sale and coupon, but not all Wags are particularly coupon friendly. I’ll be finding out if my nearest one is today.
@Rosie T,
Thank you for correcting me. Yeap that will do it. $5.99 for 4!
You could buy 4 getting 2 for free use 1 coupon and get one more free only paying for one. Make sense? I hope it does!!
Is this an unadvertised deal? I dont see it in my walgreens paper. I’m about to check out the ad online. Could it be regional?
Is this an unadvertised deal? I dont see it in my walgreens ad, and I’m not seeing it online either. Could it be regional?
Wow, I have never had any issues with Walgreens ads being different regionally but I am not seeing this offer – the only one in my ad on page 5 is Purex 3 in 1 sheets as being 2/$9 and a $1 RR. What page is it on in yours b/c maybe I am just missing it?
My Walgreens is horrible with coupons. Not only can I not do the double bogo,but they won’t let me use two coupons on any 2 for x amount promos or count the free product in a bogo as a second item for a coupon that works when you buy two. None of the cashiers nor the manager allow it,and they always try to shame me like I’m commiting fraud. I just don’t even bother anymore although your wags posts are so tempting!
Yea, it looks like Walgreens are now different regionally. I don’t have the B1G1 Laundry Detergent or the B1G1 Kleenex + $3 RR
Could you buy4, get two free because of the sale and one free with your coupon? You’d still be buying one right?
I Would either use the bogo coupon and the purex 3in1 coupon like I did at Harris Teeter last week during Super Doubles! Or I would use 2 3in1 coupons, still makes it $2 a bottle! I am going to try the first scenario!
for some reason I am not finding the purex coupon in redplum.. maybe it was in feb. coupons
@Kamber,
same here… didn’t have this Purex BOGO coupon in my RP too. so sad.
My add says that Purex 3-in-1 is 2/$9. It doesn’t say BOGO.
You can instead combine the BOGO insert Q with a $1 off here: http://bricks.coupons.com/Start.asp?tqnm=zcahepo92411591&bt=wg&o=55364&pt=&lang=&ws=&ct=&ci=&cl=&cp=&eb=1&c=DC&p=29167&z=&r=&pc=&tc= . You end up getting them for $1.75 each
@Karen,
thanks Karen – I will have to try that!
@Karen,
Thanks for the link – mine only printed .35 but heck it’s better than nothing
)
Karen, my ad says the same 2/$9 with $1 register rewards. I have also had problems with my Walgreens using 2 coupons on buy one get one items. I have had times where the receipt shows “1″ at buy one get one free, meaning they lumping the two together in their system so it is showing up as one item and not two even though you are buying 2. Sometimes I get very frustrated with my Walgreens. I have really cut back on going there.
@Linda,
I’m finding each Walgreen’s is different. Try different Walgreen’s in your area and then once you find a really good one stick with it. I finally found a decent one and now that I’ve been going there awhile, they are much more happy to help me out when things aren’t working the way they are supposed to.
Like you, though, I find I like CVS MUCH better overall.
My ad also had the 2/$9 3 in 1 sheets (Orlando, FL). I hate it that I don’t have the BOGO b/c I really need laundry detergent this week! Stink!
I didn’t see this in my ad either but my store WAS running this deal. Got 2 free. Wish I had more Q’s.
Dont worry — its NOT IN THE AD!! It’s a monthly deal that is unadvertised this week, I dont think it’s in the ad until like the third week of March, yet it is avaliable now at all the Walgreens stores that carry this!
@Megan,
Meagan, unfortunately, if it isn’t in the add, my store won’t honor it unless it has a tag under the product.
Ladies- this is a mega saver deal for the month long. It was not in my ad for this week either. I live in Birmingham and was able to get 4 for free. I plan on trying for 4 more later on this week (I didn’t want to push my luck) . I have noticed that if I am buying a lot of items these “free” items don’t cause as much commotion at the register. I also got a Starbucks frappachino, a 99c toothbrush (they didn’t have the Reach ones) and 2 boxes of Orajel Training toothpaste. Total I paid $3.xx and half of that was tax! I suggest checking your store and doing a price check. Good luck!!!
@Ashley Bussey, Thanks Ashley!!
I got six free last night…awesome!
My paper (which usually has the good coupons) did not get the BOGO purex coupon and also did not get the $.35/1 Purex coupon from January. With all the Purex deals lately, it makes me sad
Hey – quick question – I like to know all my answers before I go – LOL – does anyone know if they have HE (high efficiency) Purex there – if there is even HE in the Purex brand?
@Becky, Purex does make an HE detergent. Not sure if Wags carrys it.
It wasn’t in my ad in Brandon, FL either and it wasnt even marked on the shelf but it rang up BOGO and they took both of my BOGO coupons so I just got my 4 Free! Thanks
I just got 8 bottles of Purex and only paid for 2 of them. I wasn’t sure how the girl would accept my coupons. Basically I had 4 bottles, she rang them all up, and I gave her 1 coupon which took off $5.99. So I got 4 bottles for $5.99. Then I went back to the shelf and got 4 more bottles and she did the same thing with my other coupon. She would not let me use 2 coupons for only 4 bottles? Oh well. I believe I still got a good deal. This deal was not in our ad, but it’s marked on the shelves.
Went to my store on 4 seperate occasions and the manager allowed the use of one bogo coupon on two items. Had 13 coupons so in total got 24 bottles for $1.44!! Great for my charity!!
Hi just to let you know that walgreens has fixed the price buy the 1st @ 3.99 and the other one @2 sumthing. so if you use the bogo coupon ur still paying 3.99. i know cuz i work there. u have to use the coupons on sunday and then the company will fix the price monday so u cant get it for free. LP is looking into all the coupon website and the way ppl are using coupons. walgreens will be changing theie policy. ill keep yall updated.
I went to Wags last night and they would not let me use the coupon combo. The manager said I could pay for 2 and get 2 free with the 2 coupons. I mentioned that I would not need my coupon to do that. He just said that I had to pay for 1 to get one free. I will try a different store later in the week. They did not have the He at my store, which is what I use at home, but have 2 kids in college, so buy the regular for them.
I went to one Walgreens on Monday, and they didn’t have it marked on sale. So I came home to look at the website to verify the deal.
I then went to another Walgreens where they had it marked on sale. I was able to get 4 bottles for $.72 (sales tax)!! I like to put free/almost free household supplies together as a practical wedding gifts, so now I can add laundry detergent to the list for the next 4 weddings!
