Purchase 8 packages for a pre-sale price of $30.32. After scanning your Shaw’s card, the price will ring up at $15.92. There are coupons in the cheese aisle for $1/2 packages. Use 4 $1/2 coupons to make your total $11.92.
You will receive a coupon for $10 off your next order making the price for each package of cheese as low as $0.24!

Just make sure you only buy 8 at a time – the deal does not double or triple. AND if you cannot find coupons you still only pay $0.74 each which is still a HUGE bargain. Has anyone had success freezing extra cheese? Shredded or blocks?
We freeze the shredded cheese all the time at our house and it comes out fine. I have some that has been frozen up to a year and it defrosts perfectly
@Colleen, I freeze the blocks as well and if you put them in the refrigerator to thaw they come out fine for me. Some kinds might be a bit more crumbly after being frozen but it tastes fine.

To freeze shredded, open the bag and put in a tablespoon of corn starch, then shake up well, reseal removing all air, and freeze. It helps keep it from clumping when you open it back up to use!
Is Shaw’s part of the Super-Valu stores? I saw this ad in my store flyer (a different store). Didn’t know that it is based on the regular price to get to $30. That’s good news. Can this be done several times in different orders?

Yes, Shaw’s is a Supervalu store. Some other Supervalu stores are running the same “$10 back on $30″ promo, but the details of the promo may be slightly different. I shop at Jewel, and we have the same deal, but the cheese is $4.29 shelf price and $2.49 preferred price. And I’m not sure that all Supervalu stores run the $x/xx deals based on the shelf prices (I’m thinking Albertson’s might not…don’t know for sure).
I used to have a shaw’s in massachuetts…I’ll have tell my family that lives there about it!
I also freeze cheese all the time and it’s great! I just did this same sort of deal at Jewel. Actually I did it twice and am thinking about doing it one more time. That’s a lot of cheese!! I bought 14 bags of cheese, found the coupons and spent $8 total after my $10 coupons.
Do you think this will be a sale going on at Safeway as well?
Shaw’s is a New England chain, very similar to Albertson’s. There were no coupons in our Shaw’s, but it is still a good deal!

I always FREEZE CHEESE!! and I think they answered above but it is a SUPERVALU chain so many stores have similar promos – though prices will be different.
For the person who asked if this could be done multiple times — yes. You can only do eight at a time, but you can roll the coupon for the next order. I’ve done it four times now!
I did this at my local Shaw’s, and didn’t get the $10 off coupon.
They did have the coupons in the cheese aisle, though – so I paid $3/pound ($1.49/pkg) for the cheese, which is still a pretty good deal!
