Coming Next Week: Grocery Store Deals for every store in the USA–and more!

by Crystal on March 10, 2010

I’m so excited! We’ve been working really hard behind the scenes to make MoneySavingMom.com your go-to source for all things frugal–including the best deals at the grocery stores in your area.

We’re partnering with a number of incredible bloggers around the country and, starting next week, we’ll be bringing you just that: the top deals at every single regional grocery store in the USA, including Hawaii and Alaska!

These will be on a special section of our site dedicated to grocery store deals so the home page won’t be cluttered up with dozens of deal lists from a bunch of different stores you likely don’t have in your area.

Plus, to make it really easy for you keep up-to-date with the deals in your area, not only will you be able to access them by category on our site, you’ll also be able to customize your RSS feed or email subscription based upon what store deals you want to follow. So if you have Walmart, CVS, and Food Lion in your area, you can sign up to just get the deal lists for those stores only. Or if you have Rite Aid, Meijer, and Kroger, you can just get those deals delivered to your inbox.

But that’s not all! We’ll also be offering a LITE subscription to MoneySavingMom.com. This is something many of you have asked for repeatedly and I’m thrilled to finally be able to offer it. The LITE RSS subscription and email subscription will be for those of you who could care less about deals, but who come here to read the practical encouragement posts which are woven between the deal posts and freebies. Now you’ll not have to wade through deals to get to the meaty posts!

As always, all the features on our site are free. We won’t ever charge you a dime for accessing information here because we figure you probably have plenty of other ways you could spend your hard-earned dimes. :)

All the details on these new features will be unveiled next week. Stay tuned! And as always, thank you for reading here, for telling your friends about this site, and for sharing input and ideas as to how we can improve the site.

Subscribe for free email updates and be entered to win $100!

I do Fresh Market in Utah with a new feature where you can select individual deals to print: http://www.cuckooforcoupondeals.com/weekly/fresh-market-coupon-match-ups/

I’d love to be in your guide!

20 chris March 10, 2010 at 12:06 pm

This website is my newest addiction! It opens every time I open my browser…right along with my email!

21 Emily March 10, 2010 at 12:08 pm

Sounds great! I have been following this blog for awhile- its definitely my favorite! but have not been able to find any blogs that follow deals on my local chain (Wegmans) … really hoping this one will be included!! :)

Jillian Reply:

@Emily, Wegmans is my favorite grocery store. I hope it’s included!

Ann Reply:

@Emily,

There are a number of bloggers that do Wegmans. Finding one in your state is the key since Wegmans has different coupon policies for all their states, and different in-store price reductions in all their regions. They of course never have anything on sale in their fliers, so that makes the regions even in that regard.

Do a google search for “wegmans deals” and you’ll stumble across a blog that can help you.

22 Danielle March 10, 2010 at 12:10 pm

I am so excited. This sounds perfect!!! Thank you!

23 Christina March 10, 2010 at 12:10 pm

That is awesome! We don’t have a lot of the stores in our area that are posted. Actually, the only grocery store in my area that is posted is Kroger and it is not very close. If you are taking store suggestions, I would love to see posts for Ingles and Food City.

24 Barb Simeon March 10, 2010 at 12:11 pm

Oh, thank you! I’ve been trying to find a good blog for Jewel and Dominick’s for a while! What a blessing you are!

Ann Reply:

@Barb Simeon,

Barb the best site for Jewel is not a blog, but a forum. Check out couponerswanted.com. The forum moderator (also a Barb) has inside information weeks before the sales start.

25 Kim March 10, 2010 at 12:17 pm

Oh, the customizable store RSS feeds is awesome! I can’t wait.

But I can’t believer there are people who could care less about the deal posts! Really? :)

Crystal Reply:

We have a number of readers who live overseas and just come here for the content posts. So this should make it easier for them to access those!

26 Liz @ Living MY Sweet Life March 10, 2010 at 12:19 pm

i will be so impressed and excited if you guys have NYC stores on your list. It is SO hard to find deals for the chains we have here =( thanks msm!

Ann Reply:

@Liz @ Living MY Sweet Life,

I do Pathmark and A&P (click my name to get my blog). ShopRite is difficult because they are franchises and coupon policies differ by franchiser.

Liz @ Living MY Sweet Life Reply:

@Ann,
Thank You, checking it out!

27 Liz @ Living MY Sweet Life March 10, 2010 at 12:22 pm

Thank you, Thank you. I can’t wait to see it.

30 Marlene March 10, 2010 at 12:35 pm

God bless America! I’m so excited about this!!!

Thank you, thank you Crystal! Yesterday I got $100+ worth of groceries for $35 and then got $10 back in catalinas. 7 months ago I had no clue what a catalina was – “Isn’t that salad dressing?” I can’t believe all I’ve saved and learned because of you.

Looking forward to all the local store deals being posted. I love the internet!!!

31 Julie March 10, 2010 at 12:50 pm

Perfect timing! We are going to Hawaii in mid-April and I’ve been looking for grocery blogs to help out with the cost of food. Thanks and looking forward to the deals!

32 Kim March 10, 2010 at 12:58 pm

Thank you! I made my second CVS trip today. Retail total $73. After coupons and ECBs from first trip $43. And I have $22 ECBs for next time. I’m thinking on my next trip I’ll be walking out with everything FREE! My husband was laughing at me last night as I was getting my list and coupons together but he also said he’s very thankful. :)

33 Katie March 10, 2010 at 1:04 pm

Awesome! I can’t wait!!!

34 Jen March 10, 2010 at 1:14 pm

Thanks so much! I will really appreciate this, since I don’t have many of the stores near me that you post the deals for now!

35 Robin March 10, 2010 at 1:17 pm

Our area (DFW) is getting Aldi stores this month. I’m super excited! Does anyone have any advice for shopping at these stores? Do they accept coupons? Do they carry major brands? What foods are best to buy and which to avoid? I’ve seen those deals listed before on this site. Any info would be helpful! Thanks!

Kelly Reply:

@Robin, Aldi’s does not accept coupons and only cash and debit cards. They carry some major brands but mostly their own brands. They have great prices like on MILK!! I do not believe you can do all your shopping there, but you can defintely pick up some deals!

Emma K Reply:

@Robin,
I do alot of my grocery shopping for basics at Aldis, especially when I need an item and don’t have coupons with me. If you aren’t picky on brand name’s its great.
I do agree with the other comments, that some Aldi’s aren’t run very well but overall I’ve always had a good experience.
Just don’t forget your quarter for your cart.

Vanessa Reply:

@Robin, I love our Aldi.I get most of our groceries there. They do not take checks or creditcards. They acept cash and foodstamps. Also bring a quarter for the cart you get the quarter back when you put the cart up.I almost forgot bring some bags because you have to bag your own groceries. They sell bags but that reduces your savings for shopping there. They do not accept coupons.

36 Kimberly March 10, 2010 at 1:21 pm

Very cool! I love it – Thanks!

37 Ali Christian March 10, 2010 at 1:21 pm

38 Jessica-MomForHim March 10, 2010 at 1:24 pm

WOW! That is really exciting news! I had no idea you could customize an RSS feed–can’t wait to see what that looks like!

39 Melissa March 10, 2010 at 1:24 pm

Nichole Reply:

Thank you Thank you Thank you!!! I can’t wait! You gals are awesome!

44 Susan J March 10, 2010 at 1:47 pm

This sounds great! I sometimes joke that I should carry your business cards to hand out to all the people I tell about your site! I’ve passed along your url to many a checkout lady…and, seriously, if I had cards with your site info, I would get them distributed! =)

45 Linda March 10, 2010 at 1:50 pm

I am always looking to see if I can find a Pick n Save list of deals anywhere. That’s where I shop because on Wednesdays they have double coupons up to and including $1 if you spend $25 for your first 5 coupons. By the time the sale prices come off and the coupons doubling I usually can get by spending only $5 or less on my $25 worth of groceries. If you find any for Pick n Save I would LOVE it. Thanks. Love your blog.

46 Dawn March 10, 2010 at 2:02 pm

I do weekly coupon match-ups for a local grocery store in Richmond, VA – Ukrop’s. Feel free to check out my site – I love to help other people save money. http://annscrazyworld.blogspot.com/ (PS – Ukrop’s is in the midst of a transition – they were just acquired by Giant/Martin’s but I plan to continue my match-ups after they change everything over.) Thanks for all of the tips on your site – it is one of my favorite blogs!

62 Sheila March 10, 2010 at 10:48 pm

Thank you so much for offering the “lite” feed! Just what I’ve been hoping you’d do at some point. :)

63 Jessica March 10, 2010 at 10:52 pm

Yea for regional deals!!

64 Tracy March 11, 2010 at 12:08 am

Something Chrystal has often mentioned is that she prays before she shops. Firstly, I have to tell you that this simple act of faith has made a huge difference on many levels for me when it comes to shopping and planning.

But as I read that MSM will be offering the “LITE” feed, I realized something. I often just skip past all the many wonderful deals highlighted here because I don’t live in the USA so they don’t apply to me. But, they do apply to most of the readers.

If any of you are in the habit of praying before you plan/shop, one thing you might wish to do next time is that God that you live in a place where so many good deals, even freebies, are available!

Here, in South Africa, not only is the cost of our food comparatively higher, but we don’t have coupons! I confess a small amount of envy when I see the pictures of $100 dollar piles of shopping achieved for only a small percentage of the real cost!

Be thankful. I love my country very much but in this regard, American’s are extremely blessed!

65 Lara March 11, 2010 at 6:22 am

Wow – this sounds amazing! I’m super excited about the customized RSS feed option!

66 Becky March 11, 2010 at 8:06 am

Awesome! And, just when I thought your blog couldn’t get any better….
Can’t wait!

67 Judy March 11, 2010 at 8:36 am

Thank you all for all your work. This will be great. I already tell everyone that is interested in your blog!

68 Jessica March 11, 2010 at 9:58 am

You are the best!!! Thanks so much for generously providing all of this useful information for FREE!!!

69 Rachelle March 11, 2010 at 10:16 am

I can’t wait! This will be great. I appreciate that you’re trying to keep clutter out of it, as there are sites that attempt to list many grocery deals by state…but it’s hard to know with them whether what I’m clicking on an affiliate like, a legitimate site, or just plain junk. Thanks!

70 Kris March 11, 2010 at 10:35 am

Hooray for the Lite feed! So excited to get this.

71 Richelle March 11, 2010 at 10:59 am

So excited for this! Living in Iowa (where there is no Publix, Farm Fresh, etc) or any other store that doubles/triples coupons, any help is appreciated!!!

72 Kellyn March 11, 2010 at 11:29 am

Congrats on this new addition/change! How wonderful!!

73 Erin March 11, 2010 at 1:56 pm

OMY!!! I can’t wait!! *excited*

74 Julie March 11, 2010 at 2:16 pm

Thank you so much for all you do! I have been so encouraged by your blog, and I am so glad you are making this improvement! My grocery budget has dropped from $100/week to $75/week since I’ve been following your blog (about 8 months now). I’m hoping to get it down even more! Thanks!

75 khara March 11, 2010 at 4:29 pm

Can’t wait! Thanks for all you do!

76 kriswithmany March 11, 2010 at 4:44 pm

77 Kristin March 11, 2010 at 9:13 pm

78 Karen March 12, 2010 at 6:08 am

Thank you, Thank you, Thank You!!!! Looking forward to the grocery match-ups. I have been following your blog for a several months now and it’s my favorite. I have been able to save so much $ for our family as well as being able to give things away to families in need at church. You’ve made it easy to be a blessing to others! I’ve told many people about your site. I love both the deals you list as well as the encouragement/tips. God bless you!!!
