When they ask for a phone number do give them your real one or what? I would rather not have telamarketers calling me.
Ive never heard of a spray on shampoo but I always wanted to try one of those ‘dry’ shampoo (ok call me weird)…now here is my chance. It might be good for camping or something, who knows!
This is a good option for elderly people who are unable to shower. Products like this are used alot in hospitals and nursing homes. So if you know someone who could benifit from something like this, try it.
I don’t see anywhere to sign up for a free sample… what am I missing?
I can not get past the password portion it will not load the page, maybe it is over??
Astronauts use something similar to cut down on water usage.
It’s perfect if you have to spend more than a few days in a hospital post surgery. My daughter was in for several weeks this last summer and a shampoo that didn’t require water was a life saver. I’d guess it’s also good for camping without showers.
I remember that exact Psst brand from my the late 70′s or early 80′s. I remember my older sister using it. I do remember using a few times and thought it was cool! And I thought it really did work.
I’m trying to give my hair a break from coloring/blow drying/ straightening so I’ve been washing my hair every 2 days instead of every day. Dry shampoos like these really come in handy for absorbing oil & freshening up! Thanks for sharing
This is perfect timing. I have a can of dry shampoo but I didn’t use it for a while and the top clogged up. I’ve tried everything I can think of to get it to work and it won’t
It’s great for if you are in a hurry and your hair is oily but you don’t have time to wash and dry it
This stuff is great when I was sick and in the hospital and unable to leave the bed my mom brought it to the hospital and did my hair if you can’t get out of bed to wash your hair and are only taking bed baths this stuff can make you feel so much better about yourself cause my hair was actually reasonable for quite awhile just with this stuff.
psssssst has been around since the ’70s and works well!
To HAnna: I have never gotten calls from telemarketers (I do have my number on the no-call list), neither have I started getting junk mail or extra email spam from any legitimate offers. Still, I keep a separate email account just for my coupons and freebies; it makes it easier to keep track of them without clogging my personal email inbox. Some of the sidebar ads can be iffy, but anything offered by a manufacturer should be safe.
Instant spray shamppo is often used in medical facilities where the patient is unable to be moved to a shower or bath to wash hair.
I have used this product several times. I try ot wash my hair every other day and sometimes by evening on the second day you just need some help. =) It does work well on very light hair – I’m blonde so it worked well for me – but my sister is a brunette and it always made her look gray.
I picked up a can of Pssst at Walgreens when I hurt my arm and was unable to wash my own hair easily for awhile. It really works quite well to get rid of the smell and greasy look! I like to have it around now for when things get crazy and I can’t grab a shower every morning.
How weird, I’ve never heard of it either!
When I worked for Walgreens years ago, we used to sell a ton of the Pssssttt stuff. Highly recommended by the local hospital for people who had stitches on their scalp.
I have very thick hair and only wash a few times a week. Some people may think that sounds “gross” but when you stop washing your hair every day or even every other day, your hair will stop producing all that oil and adjust to your schedule. However, your hair does absorb odors and whatnot from the environment. I used to use plain cornstarch sprinkled from a salt shaker to absorb any excess oils and odors but if you get too much it can quite a mess and very visible. The spray varieties of these dry shampoos have been around for quite sometime. I know Walgreens carries a few different options. I have used several different brands from a salon store called Beauty Brands. I recently bought the Big Sexy Hair dry shampoo and LOVE IT! If you like big hair, this will give you the volume you need and it really removes oil and odors from your hair.
My mom said a nurse used some sort of dry shampoo on her hair when she (my mom) was in for double knee replacement. She said it worked great.
We used this brand for my mom and my Busia (grandmother) when they were in the hospital, nursing home and mostly-bed-ridden at home. It is a wonderful product. If you don’t have a use for it – or if it freaks you out – I’m sure most any nursing home would happily accept the sample.
