Walgreens: Huggies diapers for as low as $1.64 per pack!

by Crystal on February 11, 2010

I mentioned this deal in my previous post, but it’s so good that I feel it deserves a post all of its own. Tomorrow only (Friday, February 12, 2010), you can get packages of Huggies diapers for $1.64 after coupons and Register Reward at Walgreens. Here’s how:
Buy 1 package of Huggies Diapers at $8.99
Use 15% off coupon (will deduct $1.35)
Use $2/1 coupon here
Use $1/1 Walgreens coupon (found in the Walgreens Childrens Activity Book)
Spend $4.64 out of pocket, Get $3 Register Reward back

I’m pretty sure that might just about be the best deal you’ll ever find on packages of diapers!

The Huggies coupon printed seven times, before it said sorry you have reached your limit !!! was any one else able to print that many….

Erin February 11, 2010 at 3:15 pm

The Caregivers Marketplace – will give cash back on Huggies purchases. They give $0.75 per diaper package purchased. Making each package less than $1!!!! Go to their website for more info on how to send in receipts.

Bette February 11, 2010 at 4:04 pm

@Erin,

I just signed up for Caregivers Marketplace, but the diapers are no longer on the rebate form. They are on the 2009 form, but not 2010! But thanks for the link, because they do rebate a couple of other items that I use!!

Emma K February 11, 2010 at 5:12 pm

@Erin,

I heard that the Huggie’s rebate was no longer on Caregiver’s Marketplace.

maria February 11, 2010 at 5:28 pm

@Erin,

Huggies isn’t taking part in the Caregiver’s Marketplace for 2010 :-(

Leah February 11, 2010 at 6:02 pm

@ErinI don’t think Huggies are included in the new 2010 Caregivers :( NO!!!!

Erin February 12, 2010 at 12:03 pm

@Erin,

I haven’t bought Huggies yet in 2010. What a bummer!! Sorry ladies! :(

beth February 11, 2010 at 3:32 pm

rachelle…two for me!

alyssa February 11, 2010 at 3:32 pm

In order to use this on multiple transactions, can you print out a bunch of the 15% off coupons- or can you keep it and use the same coupon over and over? Thanks!

Hannah February 11, 2010 at 3:47 pm

Is it written somewhere that Walgreens will accept more than one coupon per item? My Walgreens doesn’t let me.
Thanks!
Hannah

Amy February 11, 2010 at 4:22 pm

Do we know if the RR is still rolling for this deal like it was earlier this week?

Elizabeth February 11, 2010 at 4:28 pm

Unfortunately, the Caregivers Marketplace no longer does the rebates for Huggies. The new 2010 form does not have them listed–*sad, sad face*. I just received my check for last years rebates a week ago for $14.25 from buying diapers at CVS and Walgreens during great deals like these. It was a great thing while it lasted!!

Rebecca February 11, 2010 at 4:36 pm

They will accept more than one coupon per item, but not more coupons than items. Meaning, if you use 3 coupons, you have to buy 3 items. If you are trying to get the diaper deal, use your 3 coupons, buy a package of diapers, then 2 “filler” items like valentines pencils, or something else that is super cheap. :)

Wendi Sisson February 12, 2010 at 7:43 am

@Rebecca, The registers do enforce a 1 coupon per item rule, but they do not count walgreens coupons towards the limit. The register only counts manufacturer’s coupons. You should not need filler items for this transaction.

Jenny@thriftyjenny.com February 11, 2010 at 4:37 pm

Erin,
Huggies is not a participating product for Caregivers marketplace this year :(

alisia February 11, 2010 at 5:09 pm

Do you have to do seperate transactions for each package to get the register rewards? Or will more than one print. I don’t use huggies but I have a $6 rewards to use and pay nothing out of pocket.

Wendi Sisson February 12, 2010 at 7:51 am

@alisia, you do have to do a rseparate transaction for each pkg. Only 1 RR will print per transaction. Also if you want to use your $6 RR (which is a mfg cpn) to buy the diapers AND a $2 Huggies mfg cpn, you will need 1 filler item since you have 2 manufacturer’s coupons. Make sure the item is $$ enough that your trabnsaction is larger than all the coupons. You dont want to go into the negative or they likely will not let you complete the transaction. By my calculations you need an item worth at least $1.61 to allow for the 15% discount on that item as well.
So 8.99 Huggies + 1.61 filler – 1.59 15% – 2.00 Huggies mfg cpn – 6.00 RR – 1.00 Huggies Wg cpn = 1c + $3 RR is profit!
If it figures the 15% discount on the post-wags-coupon total you will end up owing a few cents.

Emma K February 11, 2010 at 5:13 pm

Are the Huggie’s RR still rolling, that would make it cheaper out of pocket.

Gretchen February 11, 2010 at 5:22 pm

Hannah, My Walgreens stores (So Cal) will allow you to use one manufacturer and one store coupon per item. I think their coupon policy/acceptance varies GREATLY from what I’ve read.

Sara February 11, 2010 at 5:26 pm

For the 15% coupon – I chose the link on the Walgreens website that said, “print coupon” and the entire page printed. Will Walgreens accept this?

And I was able to print multiple Huggie coupons as well! I’m pumped!

Allison February 11, 2010 at 6:07 pm

My Walgreens won’t accept more coupons than you have items, which really annoys me! For example, if you buy 2 items, it won’t let you use 4 coupons for it, I would have to buy 4 items which defeats my purpose of savings, even if I just buy gum or something. This applies even if you try to stack Walgreens coupons and manufacturer ones. They will let you stack them, but I guess it just boils down to you end up having to buy some “filler” items without any coupons, which I don’t like to do!

paula February 12, 2010 at 12:43 am

@Allison, I believe it is a coupon policy of walgreens that the number of coupons has to match the number of items. I have read it in their coupon policy and have seen it written on many blogs.

Marie February 12, 2010 at 7:48 am

Me either! Why try to use a $1 off coupon when you have to buy a pack of gum for $1.49? It’s crazy! CVS will let you use as many coupons as you want and there’s almost never any beeping!

Erin February 11, 2010 at 6:12 pm

Where do the 15% off coupon and coloring book come from?
I have Huggies coupons…

Sorry – neophyte here.

jennifer February 11, 2010 at 6:13 pm

When I got my latest Caregivers Marketplace check, the rebate form for 2010 did NOT have Huggies on it- in fact it was only 1 page instead of two, so I think they lost a lot of products :(

Lillie February 11, 2010 at 6:54 pm

I have yet to have that IVC work properly on any of the 3 types of Huggies. The managers at all 3 of my stores have to “force” to coupon to work, which is a major inconvenience.

Angel February 11, 2010 at 7:00 pm

Cool, thanks!
BTW, Caregivers Marketplace doesn’t do the rebate on Huggies anymore. :(

AnneJ February 11, 2010 at 9:17 pm

The Walgreens coupon for $1 off will actually change to $0.85 off since you are using the 15% off F&F coupon. Still a great deal. And no, the huggies RR is no longer rolling.

Kari February 11, 2010 at 9:55 pm

Who do I ask for the Children’s Activity Book in the store, or where is it? Is it free? Do I need more than one, or can I use it on multiple transactions? Thanks!

Cathi February 11, 2010 at 11:14 pm

My Walgreens (Wichita area) no longer seems to carry any of the Childrens Activity Book OR The Diabetes & You magazine. Whats up with that!?

Christina February 11, 2010 at 11:18 pm

Kari, the coloring book is $1 at Walgreens. It’s usually in the toy section of the store, but one of mine keeps it in the pharmacy because they give them out with children’s perscriptions.

michelle February 12, 2010 at 12:18 am

Erin & Kari, The Children’s Activity Book is available inthe clearance aisle. You will really have to look for them, they are normally at the bottom of a pile of coloring books. You can use those coupons for up to 3 like items at a time. If you’re lucky, cashier will use it on few more!!My Walgreens had them on clearance for .25, and so I’ve managed to use them as a filler item!! I’m in Az.

deseray February 12, 2010 at 7:50 am

The walgreens coloring book coupon specifically says “on regular price only”. Huggies are on sale, not regular price. Also, the RR are NOT rolling, I tried it last night, didn’t work.

Kari February 12, 2010 at 9:20 am

Went this morning, and this deal did NOT work at my walgreens (in IA). When I tried to use my RR on the 2nd transaction, it would not go through having a manufacturer’s coupon AND the RR. At least that’s what they told me. I had 2 cashier’s try, and both said the same thing. I was pretty bummed! So I returned my diapers from the first transaction (since this was not going to be an exceptional deal!) and walked away with my nicely stacked coupons in hand. Guess I’ll have to wait until the next good deal comes around!

Emily February 12, 2010 at 10:17 am

@Kari,

Kari,
There is a fine print on Register Rewards that reads “Total number of manufacturer coupons/register rewards cannot exceed the number of items in the transaction”. This is why it didn’t work for you. The register probably beeped when the cashier tried to scan both your manufacturer’s coupon and your register reward since you were only trying to purchase 1 item. This is why people pick up “filler” items and what people have expressed frustration about above. Your cashier didn’t explain the policy to you (maybe because he/she doesn’t understand it clearly), but you would have been able to use both the coupon and the RR if you had purchased one additional item (a candy bar on sale or something), making your total number of items in the transaction equal to your number of manufacturer’s coupons and RRs. Hope that makes sense! I had always read people complaining about this and having to buy “filler” items but had never had this same trouble at Walgreens before (so I didn’t exactly know what they were talking about) until recently, when the register beeped as I was trying to use a RR. My cashier kindly explained the policy to me and showed me the fine print on the RR. I’d also like to clarify for the comments above, it’s not that you can’t have more coupons than items, you just can’t have a combination of more coupons plus RRs than items you are purchasing. For example, you could purchase one item and use both a Walgreens coupon and a manufacturer coupon (which can be stacked). The issue is when you try to combine manufacturer’s coupons and RRs, because RRs are actually manufacturer’s coupons.

Kari February 12, 2010 at 1:12 pm

@Emily,

Thanks, Emily! That makes perfect sense, now I know what to do in the future!

Amy February 12, 2010 at 10:11 am

Have fun getting this to work. They told me that the %15 coupon had to be used on cosmetics. Then they would only let me use one coupon, they said you can never use two. So not that great of a deal really. Oh well, I won’t be trying the Walgreens deals again. Much more of a headache than what it is worth.

Anne February 12, 2010 at 12:17 pm

I feel the same way as many of your about Walgreens. Too much frustration and variation from store to store. It makes me crazy and the cashiers and managers are not helpful. They I’ve called Walgreens customer service and they refuse to give me the coupon policy, tell it to me, but my store won’t go by that, so it leaves me out of luck. I asked if the policy was a secret because they wouldn’t read it or give it to me and the girl just said she would call me back about it (but never did, twice). I think I’m done with Walgreens!

Tasha February 12, 2010 at 2:32 pm

Does anyone know if you pay with a RR for the huggies will it still print you another RR? If I bought the huggies and a filler item and used the $2 huggies coupon and my $3 RR.

Kim February 12, 2010 at 2:50 pm

@Tasha, It didn’t do it for me :( and I was wondering if that was why. I purchased one package of Huggies and paid all cash and got $3 in RR. Next transaction I paid with $3 RR and then cash for the rest and no new RR printed out.

Julie February 12, 2010 at 2:49 pm

Can you roll these?

alyssa February 12, 2010 at 3:37 pm

I’ve never done better at Walgreens! their coupon system can be annoying, but today my cashier was SO nice. I don’t normally do more than 2 transactions (I just can’t keep it all straight and I also feel silly!) but today I did 14!!! It was so worth it! I did a couple at a time, then shopped some more.

Spent just under $30 oop and got 7 packs diapers, 6 bodywash, toothpaste, 2 razors, 2 motrin, q-tips, plus (for fillers) gum, 5 valentine coloring books, crayons, and 3 small boxes of dried friut!
And all this was without the activity book coupon.

The 15% off coupon saved a lot! I showed it to my cashier twice, then she just took the discount off every time I came back-there’s no barcode to scan anyway. Even with only this discount and no coupons, diapers would be under $5 after RR, which to me is good.

I am thankful I’m back online- we’ve been without internet for quite awhile. God is good- thank you, Crystal! :)

Crista February 12, 2010 at 3:37 pm

Ahhhhh…the joys of shopping at Walgreens! I swore I would never set foot in another Walgreens after going around and around with the store manager about RR last August. The store closest to us does not let one use manufacturer’s coupons with RR items. I was told “the manufacturer wants you to pay full price.” What? So, if I want to receive RR, I may not use a coupon to purchase the item. NOT. WORTH. IT. I’m only a CVS and Rite Aid girl now.

Kelly February 12, 2010 at 3:46 pm

I went ot Walgreens today. They had Huggies on clearance for $5.50. I used the Friends & Family discount 15% which made them $4.67. Then I used a $2 coupon. The total with tax was $3.03. Then, a $3 RR printed out. So, I got the for a grand total of .o3!!!!!!!! I was doing the happy dance!!

Allison February 12, 2010 at 9:24 pm

I had a $25 gift check from a transferred prescription, so I combined that with the 15% off and some coupons & RR’s, and in the end Walgreens paid me 45 cents to take three bags of stuff off their hands. Yay!

Jennifer from Caregivers Marketplace February 17, 2010 at 4:18 pm

I wanted to let you know that Caregivers Marketplace is developing another rebate program aimed at parents of children under age 10. We don’t yet know which brands will join, but we expect it to launch mid-year sometime. I just wanted to let you know to watch for it! If you follow us on Facebook or Twitter (@CaregiverRebate), we’ll announce it in those places for sure!

Jennifer
