You need several months lead time to purchase your wedding gown from David’s Bridal. They only carry samples for you to try on in the store and after you make your selection they order the dress. Then there are several weeks of time for alterations. The problem with the samples if that they are stretched from all the try ons. Do order a size larger than the one you try on. My daughter had to starve herself for weeks in order to be comfortable in her dress. One of her bridesmaids said she thought she might faint during her wedding because she couldn’t breathe. It is alot of fun to go and try on dresses but do come back another day to purchase because there is alot of pressure to buy. Count on spending 2x what the dress costs by the time you buy the undergarments and accessories. Hope this info is helpful to someone as we only knew it by going through the experience.

One more thing about David’s Bridal is that ALL sales are final and you don’t know this until you have paid for everything.

I could have missed something, but nothing I’ve ever seen from David’s Bridal indicates they serve by appointment ONLY. However, I’ve had three different friends, on separate occasions, have negative experiences with David’s Bridal because they didn’t have an appointment. I personally witnessed one account of poor treatment and was shocked by the staff’s behavior. My friend and I were very angry, she was embarressed, and we left with the store with my friend (the bride) in tears.
Another friend went in to buy a dress and was told she couldn’t – with no explanation. It wasn’t until she told them she wasn’t leaving without the dress that she got any service at all. As she was leaving, she overheard someone saying that a staff member had planned to buy this specific dress – however, it didn’t seem to be a valid reason for their lack of service.
I HATE to sound negative, but I must warn… proceed with caution. And be prepared.
