For me those links are coming up with $.40/1. Do I need to put in a different zip code to get the $1/1?

For the Nature Valley Granola Bars, it does say on the coupon “with a minimum $20 purchase.” Maybe some stores aren’t as hard-core on that, though???

Here in Phoenix, AZ, the Cheerios cereal deal is actually Cheerios and Cinnamon Toast Crunch and you must buy 4, not 3.

Sarah, the $20 min purchase at Safeway is based on pre-club card price (you’ll find that in their money saving tips on their website). Most of the time items are so high priced before club card, that you’ll reach that $20 easily.

what is a affiliate of safeway??

Stefanie January 5, 2010 at 3:42 pm

If you use Cellfire and Shortcuts coupons, the Nature Valley deal is even better – I paid $1.20 for 4 yesterday, plus got the $2.50 catalina.

Amy January 5, 2010 at 3:51 pm

Also note~I was not able to print all the coupons from the same computer, even though they are at different sites. You have to use 3 computers for this deal(if you want to do it twice); or at least 2 computers if you want to do it even once.

The ad I saw for my area (Northern CA) states that you do have to buy 4 boxes of cheerios for the deal. Also, my ad for Nature Valley was on the granola bars not the nut clusters. I wonder if you can combine them?

Amber January 5, 2010 at 4:50 pm

What is Catalina?

Amy January 5, 2010 at 4:58 pm

I did not get any catalina when I bought my granola bars in Phoenix. And the cereal here requires purchase of 4, but you can also buy a few other types of cereals at that price (eg golden grahams).

Yes, the in ad coupon is for granola bars- the nut clusters are also working for the deal. You will want to check your store to be sure the nut clusters are marked as 4/$10 and you should be fine! I purchased 2 granola bars and 2 nut clusters today!

My Safeway ad also is running it at Buy 4. That is the only cereal I will let my kids eat, so it’s nice to get it for cheap!

Amber January 6, 2010 at 2:33 pm

Our Safeway had the granola bars on sale, I did not check on the clusters. Will check and report back for us here in Denver.

I was so excited to see the deal ideas in this post and ran down to Safeway with my list & coupons. Everything was fine until I handed the cashier my coupons. There was quite a bit of eye rolling & deep sighs (not mine ;) I was then informed rather rudely that it was Safeway’s policy to only accept 1 internet coupon per item (even though I was only using 1 per item). They only wanted to allow me to use 1 Cheerios coupon & 1 Nut Cluster coupon for my entire order. Has anyone else encountered this??

Amber January 6, 2010 at 2:55 pm

Also, Safeway is paying 5cents p/ reusable bag you bring in and they are allowing you to use the in-ad coupons without meeting the $20 total purchase requirement.

I have this problem at the Vons in SLO. Only one of each type of IP per order no matter how many items I purchase. They wont even let me run multiple transactions and tell me I have to come back “next time” to use it…which they translate as “tomorrow”. I am shopping elsewhere because of this policy.

Our Albertsons has the Valley Nut Clusters and Bars on sale, now, for $1.88 each. No limit. I used the $1/1 coupon AND also got the catalina coupons too! Just wanted to let everyone know :)
