Would you like to earn a little side money taking surveys? Pinecone Research is once again open here for new registrations! But hurry, it will close up fast. (Thanks, Free Stuff Times!)

Pinecone Research is one of my favorite survey companies. They pay $3 for every survey completed and the checks come within days of completing a survey.

I also highly recommend MySurvey. I signed up with them a few months ago and have already been paid by them. Unlike many survey companies, you earn points for every survey and screener you take and these points can add up quickly! Go here to sign up with MySurvey.

I have attempted to sign up each time you post this, however, haven’t been chosen yet. Am I the only one? :) I just did it again, so we’ll see.

Thanks so much! I have heard a lot of good things about Pincone research. I hope I get accepted!

Joy January 13, 2010 at 9:28 am

i just had a question…I have tried taking surveys with a few different companies and I VERY rarely qualify for the survey they give me. So I end of spending time doing them…only to get half-way through and then I’m disqualified. How do you get around this? Thanks. I really enjoy your blog!

Shana January 13, 2010 at 9:33 am

Thanks for sharing the link! I used to be a member about 5 years ago but when I moved my account was closed, I’ve applied two times since but never been approved, maybe third times the charm ;)

Hmm… the link is taking me to the Under One Roof site… is the link already gone?

Joy – they don’t send the survey UNLESS you qualify. I get about 1 – 2 a week and have been doing it for 5 year or so – great company

Shannon January 18, 2010 at 12:40 pm

Christy — no, you are not the only one, this has happened to me, too! I tried again just now — hopefully we will get accepted this time!

I am also a MySurvey member and have been for years. I don’t get a ton of opportunities (I would say it averages 1 survey/week) but I have definitely received payment in the form of checks from them. They are prompt and very reliable.

Joy – They will send you qualifying surveys that are very short. Then, if you qualify, at a future time, they will send you the survey that you will get paid for. You don’t get paid for the very short qualifying surveys, but I think they enter you in a cash drawing. Sometimes they’ll send you an item to test and do another survey on, and you will get paid for that also. Hope this helps!

I love pinecone! I have been doing their surveys for about 6 months and they pay very quickly. You won’t get rich, but every little bit helps.

Christy January 18, 2010 at 1:09 pm

Joy, I know what you mean. Lots of those other companies want to see if you “qualify” and after you have spent lots of time answering their set of questions (which really seem like actual survey questions to me), say that you don’t qualify, so you gain no points or $$’s. Seems as though they get the info they are looking for w/o compensating us. Very frustrating. Hoping Pine Cone is different and I finally DID qualify. Yahoo!

Jenelle January 18, 2010 at 1:20 pm

We have recieved a few 3.00 checks, but most of the surveys just want to put us in drawing for 500.00.

Ellen Drake January 18, 2010 at 1:45 pm

Like others, I have also applied to pinecone numerous times and have not heard back. Hopefully they’re needing someone like me this time around! Doesn’t hurt to try!

I joined MySurvey last month and have a question. Do they send emails when a survey is available or do you have to constantly login to find out. I have never gotten a survey invite through email. Thanks!

Robin January 18, 2010 at 3:40 pm

I have been doing pine cone surveys and think they are 100% legitimate. You get paid right away (check or paypal) and I have done a few surveys where they send me items to test. It’s a lot of fun.

Shannon January 18, 2010 at 3:49 pm

Heather, I always get survey invitations via email. I would log in and make sure they have your correct email address.

shelby January 18, 2010 at 4:09 pm

Pinecone pays VERY fast. The frustrating thing is that I only get about one survey a month.

Emily January 18, 2010 at 7:40 pm

How much of your time do these pinecone surveys take up? I have been thinking about signing up for a few of these after reading about them on blogs like this one, but I work full time and have 2 young children, so I wonder if I really have time for something else. Just wondering…..any info would be appreciated.

jill January 18, 2010 at 8:12 pm

I signed up for MySurvey and only have about a hundred points which won’t get me very far. It appears I will have to stay with them a long time to collect any points to get anything. Are others having the same results with MySurvey. I have been with them a couple of months.

Heather January 18, 2010 at 9:30 pm

Jill, I’ve only gotten 100 points as well. I get the occasional email but no survey invites! I have had a lot more luck with Opinion Outpost!

Heather January 19, 2010 at 8:46 am

I have made over $45 on Pinecone since the summer. After I had done three surveys, my husband let me buy a boogie board with my earnings. :) I am very pleased with their surveys. I also signed up for Toluna, but like Joy, I spend a lot of time filling out surveys only to be told I don’t qualify. Pinecone doesn’t do that to me – when they send me a survey, I already qualify. They do also send some shorter ones to be entered into the cash drawing. I don’t mind doing those because they are so short.

cJ January 19, 2010 at 9:51 am

I signed up in mid December and recently did my first survey and got the $3 check right away. It took about 20 minutes and was interesting. I hope they send me more!

Kathy Temples January 20, 2010 at 11:06 am

Does anyone know if you receive a 1099 for earnings made from doing surveys for Pinecone? If so, please email me @ southerncounter@bellsouth.net.
