Ace Hardware has GE Energy Smart lightbulbs on sale for $1 this week. Use the $1/1 GE Energy Smart lightbulb coupon here to get them free.
Edit: Some commentors are saying their Ace does not accept manufacturer's coupons. I recommend calling ahead of time to verify that yours does accept coupons.

ACE hardware in our area does not accept coupons.
Just FYI to save some a possible bummer trip: My Ace told me that they would accept a manufacturers coupon but that I couldn’t use it on the ones on sale. I could use it for the $2 bulbs, but not the $1 bulbs. Hmmm, I asked why and they sited the wording on the bottom of the coupon something like “can’t be used in conjunction with any other coupon”. I tried to state my case but with people who are unfamiliar with coupon use and standard policies, sometimes it’s just not worth it. Know what I mean? Anyways, instead I just went down to Wal-Mart and had them price match. Free lightbulbs with less hassle!
This deal runs fairly regularly and we’ve done it several times with no problems. It must depend on the store.
This did not work at my ACE but if you print the ACE advertisement off their site and take it to Wal-mart they should honor this as a price match. It worked for me.
I ran in to the same thing yesterday. I was told they don’t take coupons on sale items.
Take the ACE ad (which runs till the end of the month) to Walmart or Target and get a price match. Both Walmart and Target’s price match policies state they will accept coupons on a price match. Take a copy of their coupon and price match policies (check their website or web search for it) just in case you get any grief.
My Ace doesn’t accept manufacturer’s coupons, but I went down there anyway to get a copy of the ad to use for price-matching. Happy savings!
Our GIANT also had these on sale for $1, making them free after coupon.
Thanks, worth a try!
It depends on the store. Most Ace’s will take the coupon but you might want to call ahead.
My ACE doesn’t take manufacturers coupons either (and the cashier was pretty insulted that I wouldn’t buy the lightbulbs for $1 each since that’s a spectacular deal according to him! well, then I was definitely NOT going to buy anything from him). I’ll give Wal-mart’s price match a try; I’ve never done that before. My Wal-mart doesn’t take Internet coupons that don’t have an internet address printed on them prominently for the product, so I don’t know what they do with price matching. Thanks for the price match info, though.
My Ace also said they would not accept a coupon with a sale item…thanks for the tip about price matching. I didn’t think about that!
