Super Savings Saturday: The last edition of 2009

by crystal on December 12, 2009

I spent $11 total out-of-pocket at the health food store and Walmart this week–and I got a lot of great deals and yummy food! But alas, I didn’t get a picture because I was so busy the day I went shopping that taking a picture was the last thing on my mind.

So just imagine a mountain of healthy foods on a table–most of which were significantly marked down at the health food store. I also price-matched some deals at Walmart (like $0.18/lb bananas!) since I already had to make a trip there. All in all, it was a great shopping week–despite the fact that I didn’t get a picture!

I don’t know about you, but bargain shopping is going to be on the back burner around here for the next few weeks. My freezers are brimming full and my cupboards and pantry are packed. So I’m planning to just lay low in the grocery shopping department until January and in favor of spending lots of relaxing and fun times with family and friends.

Don’t worry, I’ll still be posting here over the next few weeks (just likely in a lighter fashion!), but we’re going to take a break from Super Savings Saturday until January 10, 2010. I hope you can join me in mostly setting aside your coupons and just enjoying time with family and friends!

Thanks for another year of Super Savings…be it on a Saturday or not! Thanks for reminding us that in this Season, we should remember the true meaning of this time of year.

Enjoy this Christmas….the first one with your little man! Merry Christmas to your family and see you in the new year!

I’m glad to hear that you are taking a break to enjoy this advent season with your family. This money saving stuff can kinda take over our minds if we’re not careful.

Talk about brimming freezers and cupboards. We are moving and I think I did not plan out my using up pantry foods real well.

We just donated ALOT OF FOOD. We also gave some to other people.

Can you tell me why my second link won’t go through? I’ve tried on and off for hours (started when it was still way back in the 60’s). The first one went through without any problems in the 40’s. I don’t understand why it won’t put my other link through? I’ve waited waaayyy longer than normal for it to show up without any success and then resubmitted several times and still nothing. This has never happened to me before. Still I don’t know if it is a technical issue or a user (me) issue! This is what I’m trying to link to:

Thanks for your help!

Enjoy your break, Crystal and Happy Holidays!

I am right with you, Crystal! We have everything we need, everything we want, and I’m not planning any major shopping for a while. I just want to enjoy my family and friends, both in person and online, and enjoy the holiday season. Blessings to you and yours, dearie!

What health food store do you shop at? The only one near me is Whole Foods, and it tends to be a bit pricy. I’m wondering if there may be a health food store near me maybe similar to yours that I can get some good deals at! Thanks so much!
