Free/Cheap List for Triples
$30 Weekly Grocery Challenge
http://30dollarweeklygrocerychallenge.blogspot.com/2009/11/harris-teeter-triples-november-4-10.html
i went to harris teeter today and the cashier practically said i was stealing. she told me about a couple that came in and it didn’t “seem right” how they got hundreds for dollars. i was doing the same…well i planned on doing the same. until they refused to take any coupon that states in the fine print “will reimburse at face value”. and yes, those of you with coupons, that is almost every single coupon that exists! plus she said they ‘changed’ their policy and no longer accept certain coupons, including competitor coupons(such as 5/25) but she had no policy to show me…just word of mouth. it was so disheartening. i felt like crying! i ended up giving her 90% of what i picked out, because they refused to “give it free”
Last time they did Triple Coupons, I spent A LOT of time getting my list and coupons together. Then, it ended up that most coupons couldn’t be tripled. The cashier told me that usually anything more than $0.40 won’t triple.
So, just a word of advice to be careful on this. I do think for some items it’s a great deal, but not all.
And Beth, I would totally complain about your treatment if I were you. Getting a deal is not stealing … and it’s their own publicized deal! BOO to them!
beth here again,
i went to ht yesterday to attempt using coupons again, making sure NONE of them said ‘do not double or triple’ on them and i talked with the assistant manager who said “if the coupon starts with a 9, it WILL NOT double or triple. BUT if it starts with a 5, it WILL double or triple…regardless if it says do not double on the coupon. they WILL take q’s that state anything on them as long as it starts with a 5. if the computer takes it, they take it’ trust me. i took his name and will ALWAYS call to see if he is there before i go! thats great to know for the future!!
