Can you use an in-ad coupon and a walgreens coupon on the same item? Anyone ever tried this?

sunshinesavings October 11, 2009 at 11:15 am

does anyone know if the children’s acitivity book takes off only once per transaction or once per each item purchased. for example for the huggies deal if i purchase 2 packs of huggies and only have 1 children’s activity book coupon will it take off 1 dollar or 2 dollars (one for each pack). thanks :)

I just left my Walgreen’s with some great deals–however, on the Huggie’s Diaper deal. The $1.00 off coloring coupon would not scan. The cashier called the manager over and the manager said they couldn’t honor it because it says “Off original price”. Did anyone else have this happen??

Sarah October 11, 2009 at 2:40 pm

In the band-aids deal, can you stack an “in-store” coupon and an activity book coupon? They both are Walgreens coupons, right?

Laura October 11, 2009 at 3:42 pm

Can the coupon from the Children’s Booklet be used with an in-ad coupon? It says “not valid with any other offer.”

Missy October 11, 2009 at 6:29 pm

MOST times i say that with caution because there is a rare occasion but yet you should be able to use an instore coupon and manufacturer coupon at the same time, also walgreens coupons will apply as many times as items you have even if its over the limit.

Missy October 11, 2009 at 6:30 pm

P.S. But I have never seen it use two walgreens coupons at the same time.

Becky October 11, 2009 at 7:17 pm

I bought the character band-aids today – 3 boxes because that was the limit. Used the in-add coupon and the children’s activity book coupon and it worked. 3 free boxes of band-aids. I will be going back again!

Laura October 11, 2009 at 7:45 pm

Wow, it looks like we all had the same question! I tried the Band-Aids deal today with the children’s activity book and the in-ad coupon. If you had the children’s activity book coupon first, then the in-ad, it’ll work just fine. You can actually get 3 boxes of Band-Aids free this way as long as you get the kid’s character coupons.

I’ve used the Walgreens $1 Huggies Pull-Ups or Diapers coupon from the Activity Book 7 times at different stores using different types of diapers. Here’s what I’ve learned: the coupon is NOT coded correctly for Pull-Ups (even though they’re listed and pictured on the coupon). I had trouble several times using it with Pull-Ups; I tried different sizes, and both boy and girl designs. Once a manger adjusted the price down $1 since the coupon wouldn’t work, and another time the manager manually punched in a $1 store coupon. Another time, the manager refused to do anything. I have, however, used it beep-free on all regular packs of Huggies diapers (even paired with MQs). I’d rather buy regular diapers in order to use the coupon and avoid the register hassle.

Have any of you found this to be true? When it hasn’t worked, were you buying Pull-Ups?

My children’s activity book coupon only took off $1 for one of my diaper packs, not both :(
Also, I did not try the band-aids because I did not think you could use two Wags coupons, but seeing as it worked for others, I may have to make a second trip this week!

Cathie October 11, 2009 at 9:34 pm

Today I bought 2 Huggies Diaper Packs, used 2 of the $2/1printable coupons and the $1 coupon in the Activity book (so it took off $2 by using the Activity book), then I also bought 3 of the character Band-Aids, used the $1.99 sale price coupon from the weekly ad and the $2 coupon in the Activity book (making each one FREE). I had no problems with coupons ringing up or the RR printing. Thank you so much for the deal list this week!

Ruth October 11, 2009 at 10:48 pm

There are Walgreen’s brand 9 ” paper plates on sale for .29 cents for a pack of 72. Not sure how long it’ll last. If nothing else it’s a useful filler item.

Cheryl October 11, 2009 at 11:06 pm

The Campbell’s coupon is not printing for me.

Erin October 12, 2009 at 9:27 am

Last week I was able to use the in-ad coupon and a manufacturer coupon on Cambell’s soup with no problems.

AMY October 12, 2009 at 9:48 am

Tried the witch hazel at 2 stores. Price scanned $5.99 regular price not the $1.99 price.
How do you get the $1.99?

Stefanie October 12, 2009 at 10:19 am

Just got back from Wags, I got 9 jars of Ragu, used (3) $1.25/3 coupons, and bought $3 worth of Halloween stuff for my daughter, total was 14.xx. I used $10 RR from last week’s Dove deal, so total oop $4.36. Then got $8 RR for buying 8 or more. I love this “game”!

Lori W October 12, 2009 at 10:37 am

Last night I tried the Band-Aid deal with the in-ad and coloring book coupons, it went through just fine…but then the cashier called over a manager to void the transaction because “it’s not supposed to work.” I ended up buying two packages of Band-Aids that I didn’t really need for $4…free sounded so much better!

Rae October 12, 2009 at 11:17 am

The in-ad coupons are usually done more like a sale than a coupon so usually work with other coupons but you always give those last

Allison October 14, 2009 at 11:26 am

I went to Walgreens today, and was very surprised to get the Children’s Activity Book for $0.24!! Also, the Starbucks Frappuccinos, advertised as 2 for $4, rang up for $1.50 each, so w/$1 off coupon, they were $0.50 each!
