The Walgreen’s coupon link is coming up as no longer valid. I think that their promotion limit has been reached.

Candace Prosser September 27, 2009 at 1:16 pm

I meant the TheraFlu link.

Curious how many Register Rewards any of you try to accumulate to keep it going week by week? I’m new to this and am just wanting to gain some ideas.

For some reason the register was having trouble today and all of my Register Rewards & coupons went thru just fine, but then at the end it wouldn’t print anything out and I had $16 coming back to me! They “tricked” the system though (as they called it) and printed them out one by one by rescanning those particular items. Anyone else experience Walgreens issues? This was the first time I have ever ran into this and I want to say it’s also location specific.

Here is something I would like to know – Since the Gillette Razor deals (men’s and women’s razors) produce different amounts of RRs, can I consider them two different deals, and can I use a men’s razor RR to pay for a woman’s razor? Does it matter that the RR will be from the same manufacturer even if they are different deals? Just wondering if I will be able to roll the men’s razor deal with the woman’s razor deal. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Whoops .. thought of something else. :) When you want more than one of a particular Register Rewards deal, but you are limited to purchasing one, do you check out, shop again (during the same visit) and go back and do a 2nd check out? If so, do the employees seem to frown upon this? Or do you visit a different Walgreens location? Or do you just tell yourself you’ve got enough & save some for the next customer? :) Thank you!

Hi! I’m new to Walgreens and couponing deals. Today, along with some other purchases, I tried the Gillette Fusion manual razor at $8.99 with $6 register rewards and a $4 coupon from today’s paper. I didn’t end up getting the register rewards for it (it did not print out), so ended up returning the razor. The manager said something about walgreens not doing the rewards when you have a coupon with such a large value. Is it common to run into a problem like this? I was excited about getting the razor for free (with possible overage even better), but left frustrated…

My Walgreens didn’t print the Oral-B coupon. Did anyone else have this problem?

I’m hearing that when you buy 3 theraflu nighttimes you get $8 RR back – 3 would be $12 ($4 each) with $6 off from the wags coupon booklet, and $8 back would make it a money maker.

Going to try it tonight, I think!

Walgreens also has a RR special on Vicks products: Buy 2/$10 and get $5 in RR. If you use 2 $1/1 coupons from today’s P&G insert, you can get them for 2/$3 after RR and coupons.

When Walgreens has deals they are superb. Thanks for notifying us!

Lori September 28, 2009 at 2:32 am

the theraflu deal is better if you buy 3, you get an $8 RR. In addition my healthy savings book coupon would not scan. Manager finally had to price adjust the product because it just would not work. so got a great deal even though I already used my $2 MQ on the previous sale they had. This is a month long reward as well.

Julie September 28, 2009 at 9:40 am

Hi Kim,
It doesn’t matter what the specific item is, but if you use a RR for an item made by the same company as the product you are purchasing, it will not print out another RR. For example, Colgate-Palmolive Company…. if you were to buy Soft Soap and use a RR from a previous purchase of Ajax, you would not get an RR to print out (if you were supposed to) because they are both made by the same company. Hope this helps! I found out the hard way…

Christy September 28, 2009 at 11:23 am

Thanks to Julie for posting that info on the Register Rewards! Did not realize that. Thought you just couldn’t use the same item reward, however, now I know you can’t even use the same company. Thanks again!

Rebecca September 28, 2009 at 11:26 am

My walgreens wont take a register rewards for any amount if you are using a manufacturer coupons for the same product. That is if I buy a box of dreft laundry soap and I use a 50 cent off coupon, I cannot then also use a register reward coupon. Is that how it’s supposed to be?

Leanne September 28, 2009 at 11:38 am

Alison – the Gilette RR was for the MVP ones so you might have had the wrong razor.

Courtney September 28, 2009 at 11:46 am

Rebecca, I’ve never had any problem using manufacturer coupons and RRs in the same transactions (just did it on Saturday, in fact). But you do have to have at least as many items as you do coupons, so that might have been a problem if you were just purchasing one item and tried to use a man Q and a RR–since they are both counted as “coupons” and you only had one item.

Kansas Mom September 28, 2009 at 3:33 pm

Rebecca, Courtney already answered your question, but I wanted to point out that I have better luck with our Walgreens (who are really quite good compared to others) if I have enough items for all the items required for coupons. For example, if I have a coupon for $1 off two items and want to use a register reward, I’ll pick up a third item (2 for the manufacturer’s coupon and one for the register reward). It means spending an extra 50 cents every now and then but I never get beeps or coupons not going through.

Allecia September 29, 2009 at 2:03 pm

Alison,
My Walgreens did the same thing to me this week, but with different products (I bought Herbal Essance and the Vaseline lotion). I have NEVER had a problem like this before, but this week the cashier told me, “if you use a coupon, the RR won’t print.” I thought she was misinformed, but, the RR’s didn’t print, so I also returned my items and left very unhappy. The manager was short with me and told me the manufacturer decides if/when the RR will print.
Has ANYONE else had this problem? If it’s not a universal problem I may try another Walgreens.
