Did you enjoy some delicious frugal fun at Cold Stone Creamery tonight? We sure did!

(Excuse the photo quality. My camera stopped working a few days ago so I'm relegated to snapping pictures on my phone until we can figure out what the issue is.)

How cute are those matching dresses! I particularly love the hair bows!

Kasey September 24, 2009 at 10:13 pm

We went and gave $2 donation. Still a very good deal for the ice cream.

Myra September 24, 2009 at 10:16 pm

You have beautiful children and you look great too! :)

Eric September 24, 2009 at 10:34 pm

We did too! A few too many toppings in the ice cream for me, but we still enjoyed the outing thanks to your heads up.

little man is SO BIG NOW! :)

Your girls are so cute! And Silas is getting so big! How fun!!! I’m glad you all got to have some “frugal fun” tonight as a family.

Did you sew your girls’ dresses? I can’t imagine you’d have time to sew, but one never knows! If they were sewn, I’d like to know what pattern it was. It’s a cute, simple design.

God has blessed you with a beautiful family!

Jaycie September 24, 2009 at 11:16 pm

I can’t over how big the youngest is getting! :) We missed out tonight because the closest store to us just closed down this spring. Glad you guys were able to enjoy a night out! :)

You have Beautiful children!!! It looks like a good time was had by all!!

Liz @ Frugally Blonde September 25, 2009 at 5:37 am

We did too! For a $5 donation, the four of us enjoyed the free ice cream. Not a freebie, definitely, but a very good price for Coldstone ice cream and a chance to help sick kids. :-)

Love the girls’ dresses! Our good camera has a broken lens and so we’re currently taking low quality photos, as well.

Ellen September 25, 2009 at 6:46 am

We didn’t go, unfortunately. Looks like you had fun- what can be better than cheap or free ice cream. BTW – did you sew those dresses? What a cute pattern.

Money Saving Mom September 25, 2009 at 6:57 am

The dresses and matching bows came from:

http://flitterbugs.blogspot.com/

Love them and Julie does excellent sewing! Their family is saving to adopt so all of the profits from dress sales are going to their adoption fund. Definitely go check them out!

I still hope that someday I might learn how to sew myself. I’ve tried long and hard to learn, with little success. I’ve just had to accept that some people are much more talented in that realm than me and it’s okay to let them sew for me instead!

Too cute! We didn’t go, because the closest one is MANY miles away, but I love their ice cream!

Julie September 25, 2009 at 7:25 am

So glad you got the dresses! You have such a sweet family :)

Jessica September 25, 2009 at 7:33 am

We got our Cold Stone last night. It’s always nice to give to a good cause.

Trixie September 25, 2009 at 7:56 am

Hello!

I love it when you post family updates and photos! I can’t believe how big your children are getting. They grow so fast, don’t they?

I popped over to see the Flitterbug site — so many cute dresses! I love to sew, but seldom find the time to do much more than mending. No matter how you try, mending is nowhere near as fun as creating beautiful new clothing:)

Take Care,

Trixie

Your children are precious! Count me in as another mom of a 4 month old almost bald little guy! Is there a printable for Rogaine? LOL

donna g September 25, 2009 at 8:25 am

Beautiful, beautiful family. I loved the pictures. Donna

Kelly September 25, 2009 at 8:28 am

We did!! I forgot about it and then we drove by and they were holding out signs, had to turn around! I was surprised how not crowded they were, but hey we got 4 cups of ice cream for 5 bucks!

Missie September 25, 2009 at 9:06 am

How stinkin’ cute are your kids?! I could just eat them up!

We didn’t go because my 8th grader came home from school sick, so I made him some cookies instead.

Thanks for all the great tips!

Carmella Dennin September 25, 2009 at 9:40 am

Your family is beautiful – we enjoyed ice cream last night too! We also got free ice cream cake slices too!

Rae September 25, 2009 at 10:27 am

Oh wow he has really gotten big! Your family is beautiful as always :)

Tammy September 25, 2009 at 11:02 am

Look at how the baby has grown. He’s adorable! Sadly, all our Coldstone’s have closed, so we missed out on the free ice cream. We sat by the firepit in the backyard instead!

DeAnna September 25, 2009 at 2:08 pm

We went but went ahead a paid about full price since it was for a good cause. $20 for four ice creams and good feelings for all :)

Brooklyn September 25, 2009 at 2:20 pm

I love this dresses, they are adorable. Where do you find matching outfits for your girls? I have 2 girls 2yrs apart and the only place I can find matching clothes is Babiesrus.

**********************
Money Saving Mom here: My favorite places to find matching clothes for the girls are by ordering through Target.com or JCP.com. I’ve found then when I look at their clearance items, use a free shipping coupon, and order through eBates, I can often find outfits for less than $5 which are matching, too! I love matching the girls as it makes it so much simpler for me!

jennyd September 25, 2009 at 4:20 pm

love the outfits. my 2 year old has an outfit i made out of the same fabric. your kids are so cute.

Nancy M. September 25, 2009 at 4:54 pm

The girls are getting big! So is Silas! They are are beautiful!

Sarah September 26, 2009 at 9:38 am

We were planning on giving $5 for 3 of us, but the store was selling tickets at the door (to be redeemed at the counter) for $1 donation per person. I told her to just keep the extra, but she gave us 5 tickets and said that they were small servings so we should get 5. It was yummy!

Aiming4Simple September 26, 2009 at 9:57 am

Glad you made it out too! The manager at our Cold Stone was hoping for a bigger turnout, but we did our part. We got 6 scoops for 5 people.

Laura September 28, 2009 at 1:09 pm

I’m a little surprised that you would have a cell phone, given the cost of a cell phone bill each month. (Your comment of snapping photos with ur phone.) Do you have cell phones and land lines?
