Walgreens: Neosporin money-maker

If you have purchased the $0.99 Children's Activity Book which is available at the Pharmacy counter at Walgreens, there is a $2/1 Neosporin coupon in it. Combine this with the Register Rewards deal and manufacturer's coupons to turn this into a money-maker. Here's how:

Buy 2 Neosporin .5 oz–on sale for $3.99
Use the $2/1 Walgreens coupon (should take off $4)
Use 2 $1/1 coupons here
Spend $1.98 plus tax out of pocket, Get back a $4 Register Rewards

Even if you haven't purchased the $0.99 Activity Book, you can pick one up when you purchase the Neosporin and you'll still come out ahead on this deal. Plus, you'll have over $15 worth in Walgreens coupons to use on other deals.

Thanks, Susan!

The “Neo to Go” spray is also the same price and it works with both coupons and the Register Reward (great to keep in a diaper bag)! :)

Too bad I cannot find the Walgreens coloring book!

Did you try by the pharmacy?

Christy Carden August 12, 2009 at 7:17 pm

I asked the pharmacist at mine and she pointed me to it!

I got a neosporin that had a free “to go” first aid kit in it–3 bandaids and a little plastic case to put the bandaids and neosporin tube in–great for the diaper bag!

My Walgreens will not allow me to get the RR if I use coupons that would make the price less than the RR amount. So if an item is $5 and there is a $3 RR on it, I cannot use a coupon higher than $2. They told me they don’t want me making money. :) Has anyone else had this experience?

Also at walgreens, they have a Walgreens coupon(in the coupon brochure up front) for $2/1 Huggies wipes 64 ct and up. They also have the 64 ct Huggies wipes on sale for 2.99. This makes them .99 each. I also had a .75 Huggies coupon which made them .24. Great gifts!

I found the coupon book, but noticed that all the coupons say “off retail price.” Since the Neosporin is on sale for $3.99, I would assume you can’t use the coupon from the activity book. I personally would feel too like I was cheating the system if I used it outside of the parameters stated, even if it did work.

Yes, Del. My local Walgreens (Rossville, Tennesse) will not allow you to use coupons if the item is supposed to print a Register Reward. They would not even let me use a Register Reward to pay for something that produces a Register Reward (even if the Register Reward that I have is from a different product than what the item is that I am trying to purchase). So, yes, I Have had a similar experience at Walgreens.

That has also been my experience at Walgreens. Glad to hear I am not alone, my Walgreens (both in Wake Forest, NC) have told me not to use coupons with an item with a Register Reward…makes me sad, but I just don’t do the Walgreens deals anymore :( At least not most of them.

Have people been getting the $4 off using the coloring book coupon? My store only took off $2 once.

If I were you, those that are being limited with their coupon usage, I would contact the corporate office. Coupons are a form of payment and I have personally asked the corporate reps about using them in conjunction with a RR deal and they have said that you are allowed to do it. They called my store, where I had a problem manager, and corrected him and now I have no more problems. Also, I can’t say this enough, but the Cosmetics cashiers are soooo much nicer and coupon friendly and they want your sales, so go to that counter and pay out. Even if there isn’t someone standing there, I can usually find my girl stocking shelves nearby and she is always happy to stop and check me out, I think they must get some sort of commission or bonus based on their sales?!
