I think these are all limit 2 per customer.

Heather July 27, 2009 at 1:07 pm

The sales ads sat limit 2 at the 25c price. Can anyone verify if this is set up in their computers to only price 2 at 25c or if it depends on whether the cashier will allow you to purchase more than 2 ??????? TIA

I went to Staples (Knoxville, TN) this morning to get the Bic mechanical pencils ($.25 ea/2) and use my $.50 off coupon. They refused to let me use the coupon. I was told that the corporate policy is not to allow coupons off on items already on sale. It was still a great deal at $.25 each but I was really irritated.

Heather July 27, 2009 at 1:19 pm

The Bic pencils had a limit of 2 at my staples. Additional ones were 99cents each. I bought 2 for 25cents each and used my coupon, so the additional 50cents came off the other stuff I bought.

I attempted to get the mechanical pencils on Sunday. I was told by the manager that since the coupon was above the sale value, they will not accept it.

I contacted corporate and was told by a customer service rep that staples doesn’t accept manufacturers coupons.

guess i will try to go to target for a price match

FYI – Our area has a limit of 2 of each of the $.25 items per person. If you buy 4 mechanical pencils, 2 will ring up at $.25, and the other 2 will ring up around $2.99.

Jenn July 27, 2009 at 2:02 pm

At my Staples the items were only $.25 for the first two items, then regular price after, so for the bic deal I bought two packs and two packs of 3 x 5 cards for $.25 and everything was free.

Julie July 27, 2009 at 2:10 pm

Just a quick note: the BIC pencils are a limit of 2 so you wouldn’t be able to buy 4.

Karen July 27, 2009 at 2:15 pm

The bicmatic pencils, you can only buy 2 at .25 each, after the first 2 they’re more expensive. However the coupon still went through when I was at staples this morning, I guess cause I spent over a dollar??

Love these savings. Thanks for the info.

Sabrina July 27, 2009 at 3:12 pm

The mechanical pencil deal will not work because there is a limit of 2 per item. If you’re a teacher, this would work for you, but otherwise no.

Lisa July 27, 2009 at 3:18 pm

all of the $.25 deals are a limit of 2.

PollyS July 27, 2009 at 3:44 pm

I also commented on iMommies about this ~
Even better than the 25 cent items are the Expo Click It markers for $1.50. In and of itself, that is an awesome deal. But add the $1 off coupon that is floating around and they become 50 cents a pack! The coupon is a pdf, so you can print off as many as you need. Yippee.
This is unheard of. We homeschoolers go through those things like water. I am so psyched. We’re going to get more today. Because they dry out so fast, I can’t get a year’s supply, but i sure will get enough to last me through February or March.

Sara B July 27, 2009 at 3:59 pm

The .25 sale has a limit of 2 of each item, so the pencil deal wouldn’t work.

Sabrina July 27, 2009 at 4:15 pm

Be careful of that deal with the Expo Clicks. You can only use one per transaction per visit, and if you only buy one Expo Click, the price is 5.99 ( just tried that about an hour or so ago.)

They also have Hammermill copy paper that is $1 after easy rebate. and Photo paper that is $2 after easy rebate. I figured that you could get 2 packs of each and use the $5/$30 to get all of it for $1 or $0.25 each
Copy paper 5.79×2 = 11.58
Canon Photo Paper 9.99*2 = 19.98
Total =31.56
-$5/$30
-1.80×2 instant rebate (if they will let you use the $5/30 b/c of this instant rebate if not you will be just over $2 short and can put in an expo with coupon and the bic pencils)
-2.99×2 easy rebate
-7.99×2 easy rebate
=$1

Yesterday, I tried using that coupon save $1.00 on any two (2) BiC stationery products and it didn’t work. I have two pack of BIC mechanical pencils plus two other .25 cent deals that adds up $1.00 plus tax which I thought qualified what the coupon asked for and covers the $1.00 coupon. The register lady give me attitude for even trying to used a coupon on their sale items like I’m insane. Then she told me save the coupon for next time on regular price BIC products. Overall, I had a bad experience shopping at Staples.

Renee July 27, 2009 at 7:03 pm

I wasn’t able to use the BIC coupon either, but I didn’t complain because they were only 25 cents. I used to pay more than that when I was going to school for those things. :) I also had problems with the printable $5/$30 coupon saying it wasn’t valid, so we had to get a manager to override that. I finally got a shredder too! Now I can de-clutter my desk, at least until the shredder gets jammed.

Dawn Griggs July 27, 2009 at 7:11 pm

Teachers, including homeschool teachers, with a teachers reward card through Staples can get up to 25 of each item at 25 cents each. Just show your card first!

Debbie July 27, 2009 at 9:22 pm

Love these sales!

My daughter needed a chair for her desk, so in addition to the supplies, we bought the featured desk chair. It’s on sale for 19.99 (I think it’s 39.99 usually) but you get a $10 rebate in the form of a VISA gift card (you have to submit the rebate). I had just enough supllies to bring the total up to a little over $30 with the $19.99 chair, used the $5 off $30 coupon, and will get the $10 Visa gift card.

I just got off of a live chat with a staples.com rep who told me that Staples does not accept manufacturers’ or competitors’ coupons. Very strange – I’ll give it a shot and see what happens. I would think that at this time of year they would do anything for the business since there’s such competition.
