This is a great deal! I did it yesterday too. Be on the lookout for cheerios boxes with $1.50/1 Pampers Coupons.

Do you happen to know if the Catalina is good for one gallon of milk (with a $4.50 max) or for $4.50 off of any purchase that includes milk? THANKS for posting these great deals – you save me money every week! :o )

Is this working at Safeway affiliate stores? (Randalls?) Has anyone tried it?
Thamks!

They had a similar deal going at Jewel, but it also included Nature Valley granola nut bite thingies. I got 3 bags of those for $1.50 each after coupon, and got the $4.50 off milk Q. To maximize the coupon, I plan on using it on organic milk.

My local Dominick’s(Safeway) store won’t let me use more than 1 internet coupon per transaction/per product. So, if I had 3 boxes of cereal & 3 internet printable coupons, they would only allow me to use one coupon. I emailed Safeway corporate about this & they sent me back their new coupon policy….sure enough, it’s written in there. I don’t really understand it, since they get reimbursed by the manufacturer on coupons? Too bad, too. My local Jewel-Osco will be getting most of my business now!

Amy–Here is the copy of Safeways internet coupon policy:
http://www.safeway.com/IFL/Grocery/Coupons-Policy
No where on there did I see that they would only accept one printed coupon. They will accept multiple if they scan properly and aren’t over 50%.

Just go to another checker, next time. :)

I had the same thing happen to me a few weeks ago at my Dominick’s. A very nasty cashier told me she could only accept one printed coupon per product. I had two boxes of Cheerios and two internet coupons. When I questioned why and when this policy started, she decided to answer with “they are probably fraudulent, anyway.” Customer Service confirmed the policy and told me it has been in effect for ‘awhile’, but they are now starting to enforce it. I don’t shop there anymore.

I’m new! What’s a catalina promotion? I keep thinking of salad dressing but I don’t think that’s it! :-)

Yes it works at randalls too! I did it yesterday and got the free milk cat (it looks like the milk is free up to $4.50, no other purchase required). Plus I got a cat for $1.50/4 general mills cereals…anyone else get that one? It’s a randalls Q so I think it can be stacked with MQ’s. Sweet!

this worked for me but at my safeway i got a $4 off 1-gallon OJ coupon instead of milk. we don’t drink a lot of juice but still a good deal.

I’m thinking about trying this tomorrow, and even if they only let me use one coupon, it effectively covers what we’d normally pay for 2 gallons of milk w/ a $4.50 coupon and makes the 3 boxes of cereal cost $0.25 each.

However, I’m interested in where these Catalinas are printing out – anyone having success in the San Francisco Bay Area Safeways?

Catherine July 3, 2009 at 4:24 pm

Not sure if the NoVa Safeway stores are picky about more than one printable (haven’t been so far) but I do know that they are doubling up to .99 so that would work out to spending $1.50 and getting the cat back so it would be a money maker.

Lisa~ I just got the deal at a Northbay Safeway location, and it worked. 3 boxes of GM cereals that were 3/$6 and I got a catalina for free milk up to $4.50, and another coupon for $1.50 off 4 GM cereals.

Erin July 4, 2009 at 3:05 pm

Sorry~ that comment was meant for “Life on my Roof” not Lisa. My bad.

jenney July 5, 2009 at 9:59 pm

I just did this. 4 boxes of cheerios for $2. I had 2 $1/2 Peelies for the cereal. the thing is the at did not print until I ran the debit card. So wait for it. The cat was for $4.50 off milk but our milk is $4.28 for 2. She actually gave me the 22cnts overage!
I’m going back to do it again tomorrow.

Jennifer July 7, 2009 at 12:11 pm

my Cat coupon didn’t print out – so I called the Cat people and I think they are going to issue me one through the mail to make up for it. I got 3 boxes of Total at Safeway….
