One question, if I were to add another of the nail polish, or something else with a rebate that would get me total over $25, would I then also be eligible for the $10 gift card promotion Rite Aid is running this month? Thanks to anyone who can answer this question. :)

Where does the first $8 come from?

Lynette July 19, 2009 at 5:44 pm

At my Rite Aid, (Michigan) the L’Oreal Nail Polish was on clearance at 75% off and the ad said that the rebate was not good on clearance items. So… I went with a different scenario.

this is a great one for newbies – if there is one thing I miss about the old walgreens system is this easy way for people who aren’t yet obsessed with coupons to get into the game fast!

I see where we would get $8 in rebates from the L’Oreal products but where does the $5 come from?

Hi – I worked up a similar scenario with the L’Oreal on my blog yesterday. There are two separate L’Oreal rebates:

#157 is for $2 off the $2.99 Polish and there is a limit of 4, so $8
#156 is get $5 when you spend $13 on L’Oreal

So technically, you could buy just 4 polishes at $11.96 and find another item to get you just over that $13 (it would not have to be another polish).

Make sense??

Sarah, to answer your question – the $10 gift card is for select Kimberely-Clark/Bayer/Schick products, so no, the L’Oreal would not qualify.

Kathy July 20, 2009 at 2:51 am

L’Oreal – Rebates #156 & #157 ($5 & $8 respectively).
I just hope the nail polish counts for #156.

If you wanted to make your OOP a little smaller….Coupon Craving says there is a $1/1 coupon from 4/26 Smart Source insert on Citreshine…Then you could ad the shave gel at $1.99, Use $0.75/1 or $1.50/2 coupon from the 5/17 and 7/12 SmartSource inserts and get another $1 back in rebates making the shave gel very cheap. Of course then you’d be using coupons!

Does anybody know if the nail polish for sure counts towards rebate #156?

Michelle July 20, 2009 at 11:43 am

I couldn’t wait for the answer so I called Rite Aid Rebates and the nail polish does qualify towards rebate #156. Okay…off to Rite Aid!

Michelle July 20, 2009 at 2:11 pm

All that coupon printing and planning and not one single nail polish left. What a bummer!

They didn’t have the Sambucal rebate offer at my store. The cashier said sometimes they don’t carry all of the products offered. So, I couldn’t do my deal like I thought I could. But, I still bought 5 of the Loreal nail polishes, and I bought 2 V05s because they were on sale for .89. I spent a total of 8.72 with tax because the nail polishes (reg. 4.99) were on sale for 1.24. I am submitting for the $2 rebate (limit 4) and getting $8 back. So, basically all of my purchase was free and I just paid for tax. :-)

Are you sure that nail polish will count toward the rebate? I bought that too and it says on the rebate offer site that it excludes prepriced and clearance stickered items. The signs on the shelves said $2.99, but they rang up $1.24…I wasn’t sure if I got the right ones. It messed up my plan for the $5 rebate for $13 purchase, but .24 polish is pretty good. I submitted for the $2 rebates just to see.

Plus if you get the $1 manufacturer coupons from the L’Oreal website, you can make $1.75 per bottle of nail polish. That’s what I did yesterday – got a total of $29 of stuff, spent $14 and supposed to get $19 back, but I didn’t realize the limits and I should have done separate receipts… I’m assuming you can’t get 2 rebates on 1 receipt?
