Thanks- we can use new T-shirts- and we will have new shirts to wear to the parade on the 4th!

Dare I hope they carry my 2X size????? For a dollar, it’s worth a look and at least the kids can be festively dressed.

And, sigh, there’s a part of me that really would love to see that the shirts aren’t made in China. That might be entirely too big of a wish, though.

I heard that this was being canceled due to lack of stock nation-wide. You may want to call your local store before heading out to confirm that they are offering this deal.

I just called my Old Navy and they said they would be 50% off, not $1….Oh well! I may go pick some up anyway for the 4th.

FYI – we called and this is no go for the local stores as well as the national chain. The people at Old Navy’s main office knew nothing about it. Sorry.

Be sure to buy up in size for the ladies’ shirt. I was excited when they had a more feminine cut a few years back but surprise by how tight it fit and returned it for a larger size. My MIL enjoyed dressing the whole family in these for several summers.

I just called my local store (OR) and they don’t know anything about it and aren’t doing it.

8 Jenelle Mejia July 1, 2009 at 9:13 pm

We never have many left in stock at ours by that time. In fact I have walked in this week and seen very few.

FYI- I bought an Old Navy flag tee several weeks ago and I’m happy to report they were made in Haiti, not China. :)

I called the Evansville, IN Old Navy store, not happening there either. The manager thought the sale was only happening in Canada. (which is kinda strange why American flag shirts would sell in Canada?? I guess that’s a entirely different subject, lol)

Hey – just went by Old Navy and they said there isn’t a sale on these shirts – they are $5.00 if you still want one.

12 Bill July 2, 2009 at 1:05 pm

Just called my local store (Saucon Valley, PA – near Allentown) & I was told that they would NOT be marked down until after the 4th of July. No $1 sale here.

13 Jen July 2, 2009 at 2:10 pm

I just called my local store, and they have heard nothing about this. They said that they wouldn’t hear until Friday a.m., the 3rd. How did Mama Cheaps here of this if most of the Old Navy stores are not aware?

14 Elizabeth Bowersox July 3, 2009 at 8:10 am

I called OldNavy online. It is definitely only in Canada, and it’s not our flag and really nothing to do with Independence Day.

15 jef July 3, 2009 at 8:30 am

Old Navy at Chapel Hill Mall, Akron Ohio stated the $1 sale was cancelled because of chain-wide inventory levels … presumably people are simply too patriotic this year? (which is a great thing imo)

16 Rachel Hawkins July 3, 2009 at 8:30 am

I just called our store in Birmingham AL and the sales associate said the $1 t-shirt sale had been canceled. He said the 4th of July t-shirts are $5.

17 nat July 3, 2009 at 8:56 am

just called they do not have that deal they said they never officially advertized that and there is no inventory

18 Mark July 3, 2009 at 9:07 am

I guess Old Navy is trying to boost July 4th t-shirt sales in Canada because that is where this sale is going on. Where in Canada do they celebrate the independence of the United States??

19 Wes July 3, 2009 at 10:10 am

No problem at my store in Houston.

20 Maureen July 3, 2009 at 11:37 am

We went to Old Navy in Milford, CT this morning and asked about the promotion. They said it had been cancelled but would honor it anyways, so, we purchased 5 t-shirts for our family for $5 :)

21 Sarah July 3, 2009 at 12:18 pm

In Oregon I called and they said they weren”t doing it in stores onle online.

22 CJ Powell July 3, 2009 at 12:21 pm

I went to the Old Navy store in Clackamas, OR, first thing this morning. They are not honoring this sale. They claim it was posted without their knowledge nor their approval

23 Brenda July 3, 2009 at 12:45 pm

I called one Old Navy and was informed that the tee shirts were on-line only. Called another and was told that the were in Canada only????? Tee shirts with the American flag in Canada only? I had to laugh at that one.

24 suz July 3, 2009 at 1:44 pm

No 1.00 T shirts in Chattanooga or Hixson
They said they didn’t know anything about it.

25 magic July 3, 2009 at 2:02 pm

We went to our Old Navy store in Tucson, AZ and asked about the promotion. The sales clerk stated that they are ‘taking down’ the sale from online and ‘maybe you can get that deal online’. No $1 sale here.

26 Paul July 3, 2009 at 2:35 pm

I went out of my way to go to the Old Navy store in Ft. Lauderdale (Hollywood, FL). They never heard of the promotion. They did have lots of flag shirts left for $5. (Cheap see through shirts that were barely worth $1 anyway).

27 Jayme July 6, 2009 at 5:06 pm

It was a go at my Firewheel store :)

28 Melissa July 11, 2009 at 9:20 am

I was unaware of this, but it seems that Federal Law stipulates that the American Flag cannot be displayed for commercial advertising purposes. I wonder if Old Navy tees bearing the American Flag are subject to this restriction. Perhaps it’s something that’s overlooked?

I think, in this case at least, these tees are fine. There’s definitely nothing wrong with displaying your national pride!!
