I love it when you can get produce for free! Through July 21, 2009, you can get free cherries at Food Lion stores. The Bing cherries are on sale for $1.99 a pound but are regularly priced at $4.99. Buy a 2-pound pack of cherries and use the Food Lion coupon here for $2 off any $5 purchase of produce. Then, use your shopper's card to get the $3 sale discount. After the coupon and store discount, you've got yourself some free Bing cherries!

won’t you still be paying $1.99 – which is awesome for 2 pounds of cherries? $1.99 x2 = $.3.98 – $2 coupon = $1.98. or $4.99 x2 = $9.98 – $6 store discount = $3.98 – $2 = $1.98.

just wondering.

does anyone know why this is only through 7/21? the coupon is good until the 28th. Is the sale only through tuesday?

I stopped at Food Lion on Sunday and the cherries were priced 99 cents/pound – Manager’s special. I was paid to purchase them! I used the Guiding stars $1 off coupon, the $2 off $5 coupon and my FL shopper’s card. I also picked up FL bleach (45 cents) , FL baby aspirin (99 cents), Tide 120 loads size $18.97 (sale price $19.97 – mfg coupon $1.00). My total OOP was just a little over $20.00. I actually got the bleach and aspirin free too!

Thanks for all you do to help us with our grocery savings!!

What is a FL shoppers card? I’ve been doing this coupon thing for a while, but I don’t know what that is.??

Never mind I get it now. I have been buying cherries all week as they are on sale for .99 here. I have been paying about .42 a pound for them. But I see now that if you give your MVP card last, you get them free. Gotcha! I’m a bit slow. Sorry.

The FL shopper card is called the MVP card at Food Lion. You can sign up for it in the store at any register or by internet and they will mail it to you. The card allows you to get the sale price. They scan it at checkout. Hope this helps

The shopper’s card is the Food Lion MVP card.

I don’t like cherries, so I got two packages of blueberries for $1 each. I used the $1 produce and $2 produce coupons.

You can also get free (or even overage on) bananas using the $1 Guiding Stars coupon. They are .67/ lb. I’ve been getting a ton of them!!

Coupons for produce?!? How lucky you are! We get coupons here but limited to prepackaged foods that are still too expensive even with the coupon!

I did try get in on the sunscreen deal you posted today. Signed up but nothing happened….we’ll see if it arrives!

Just went over and picked up a lil over 5lbs of cherries for free, the last in THAT store. Grocer guy told me they over purchased and this is why they were .99 in some locations. THANK YOU!!

Plus with the free dozen large catalina, Mom is real happy.
