Rite Aid: Corrected Huggies Scenarios

by crystal on June 29, 2009

I posted the Huggies scenario on the Rite Aid weekly deal post late on Saturday night without double-checking my facts and discovered this morning that it was incorrect. However, the deal scenarios are still plenty sweet.

Here is the updated (and hopefully accurate!) information:

There is a promotion running at Rite Aid through the
end of July (see rebate #61): Buy $50 in participating products and get a
$25 Rite Aid gift card.

Items include: Huggies Supreme or Huggies Snug and Dry diapers (34-60 count); Pull-ups Training Pants (33 count); GoodNites Underpants (27 count); Little Swimmers swim diapers (10-12 pack); Huggies Wipes (184-232 count), among a number of other products. Go here to see the entire list.

There is also Rite Aid rebate for $2 when you buy a Huggies Mega Pack (see rebate #53). Plus,
there is another Rite Aid for a free pack of Huggies when
you buy 5 packs of participating Huggies packs
(mega packs and swim diapers–see rebate #800). You can submit for all of these rebates to really sweeten the deal!

Here are some scenario ideas which Heather (the Krazy Coupon Lady) graciously compiled and shared with me. Please note that according to Charlene, some of these products will be on sale during the week of July 12 so if you're willing to hold off until then, these could be quite a bit cheaper or even a money-maker deal.

*Pull-Ups Scenario*

Transaction #1:
Buy 1 mega pack of Pull-Ups at $19.99
Buy 1 large Huggies wipes refill (184-ct.) at $6.99
Subtotal: $26.98

Use $1/1 wipes coupon from the 4/19 SmartSource insert

Final out-of-pocket for both scenarios: $35.96 plus tax
Submit for Rebate #61 to get $25 Gift Card and submit for Rite Aid Rebate #53 for $2
Final Price after Rebates: $8.96 plus tax for 2 mega packs of Pull-Ups and 2 wipes refills after rebates!

*Little Swimmers Scenario*

Transaction #1:
Buy 2 packs of Little Swimmers at $9.99 each
Buy 1 large Huggies wipes refill (184-ct) at $6.99
Subtotal: $26.97

Final out-of-pocket for both scenarios: $33.94 plus tax
Submit for Rebate #61 to get $25 Gift Card
Final Price after Rebate: $8.94 plus tax for 4 packages of swim diapers plus 2 large wipes refills

*Huggies Diapers Scenario (with thanks to Kay)

Transaction #1:
Buy 1 Mega pack of Huggies diapers at $19.99
Buy 1 Jumbo pack of Huggies diapers at $11.49
Use $5/$25 Rite Aid Coupon
Use 2 $1.50/1 coupons from the 6/21 SmartSource insert

Transaction #2 :
Buy 3 Jumbo packs of Huggies diapers at $11.49

Use $5/$25 Rite Aid Coupon
Use 3 $1.50/1 coupons from the 6/21 SmartSource insert

Final out-of-pocket for both scenarios: $48.45 plus tax

Submit for Rebate #61 to get $25 Gift Card, submit for Rebate #800 to get a free package of diapers, and submit for Rebate #53 to get an additional $2 Rebate
Final Price After Rebates: $21.45 plus tax for 1 mega pack and 5 jumbo packages of Huggies diapers
Plus, you should be able to submit your receipt to The Caregiver's Marketplace for an additional $3.00-$4.50 rebate, depending upon what qualifies.

I think the math and products on these scenarios should be correct. Let me know if you see any mistakes.

thanks for these deals, just wondering, shouldn’t it be $49.94 out of pocket plus tax on scenario #3? and wouldn’t you actually get 7 packages of diapers with the free Huggies?

******************
Money Saving Mom here: Thanks for catching my mistakes! Much appreciated!

2 Katie Ruschman June 29, 2009 at 1:10 pm

There is also a $2 rebate on Huggies and then don’t forget the caregivers marketplace for an additional $4.50 off. Wish I had one close to me.

3 Angeline June 29, 2009 at 1:13 pm

Anyone know if Rite Aid still have the $25 gift card coupon for transferring or bringing a new RX in? I can use that in conjunction with the $5/25, and the Huggies deal offered, right? And still make the $25 gift card since I will be coming out of pocket for around $25? Thanks!

4 Jess June 29, 2009 at 1:34 pm

Actually you get the rebate #800 only when you buy Supreme 22-46 count or Snug and Dry 26-60count not the mega and swim diapers. So this way you can buy 5 packages for about 57.45 then use your 5$ off 25$ then use (5) $1.50 coupons so your down to 44.95 and then since you “spent” over 50$ in the store you get a 25$ Rite Aid gift card back. So that subtracted plus your $11.46 rebate back for the free voucher you actually only paid $8.49 out of pocket!

5 Jessie June 29, 2009 at 1:46 pm

Isn’t it only necessary to buy 2 packages of huggies in the 2nd transaction- for a total of 5 packages purchased?

6 Kay June 29, 2009 at 2:08 pm

Do you think this could work? It utilzies all the availble rebates: (This is for Huggies Diapers)

Trans #1
Buy 1 Mega = 19.99
Buy 1 Jumbo = 11.49
Sub = 31.48
Use -5/25 store Q
Use (2) -1.50 MQ 6/21
Total = 23.48 OOP

Trans #2
Buy 3 Jumbos = 34.47
Use -5/25 Store Q
Use (3) -1.50 MQ 6/21
Total = 24.97 OOP

Rebates:
#800 (buy 5 get 1 Free) $11.49
#53 (-2 off a mega pk) $2.00
#61 ($25GC when you buy $50) $25.00
= 38.49

GRAND = $9.96 for 5 Jumbos and 1 Mega
Can also submit to CMP for $4.50
Total = $5.46 for all 6pks of diapers

I just did this today. I transferred two prescriptions and got 2-$25 gift cards. I ended up doing 2 transactions. #1 – 2 diapers, 1 refill wipes #2- 3 diapers. I used the coupons mentioned and the two gift cards that I had just received and paid $1.15 out of pocket. Plus, I will be getting another free pack of diapers and another $25 gift card. It was a great morning at Rite Aid!

8 Kay June 29, 2009 at 3:43 pm

The #800 rebate – it really depends on the size of diapers (1-6) because my baby is in a size 4 and the mega does qualify for #800 rebate (it has 60 diapers in it) and the jumbo has 31 diapers. HTH

9 Jennifer June 29, 2009 at 4:35 pm

Does anyone know if this includes Huggies Pure and Natural?

10 Toby June 29, 2009 at 5:06 pm

Where did you get the coupon for the RX transfer? Mine are expired.

11 Heather June 29, 2009 at 5:12 pm

Kay – this is the transaction I did today and from all the rebate details, it seems like it should work! I just submitted my receipts for both transactions this morning, so I guess we’ll find out if it goes through.

As for the caregiver’s rebate, the mega pack isn’t listed on the website, so I’m not sure you would get it back for that package, just the 4 jumbo packs.

Oh, and the gift card rebate does NOT include the Pure & Natural diapers, just the Supreme & Snug & Dry diapers.

12 lela E. June 29, 2009 at 5:13 pm

My manager said for the $25 GC rebate that I had to spend $50 AFTER coupons.

13 Mary June 29, 2009 at 6:44 pm

Dollar General has stayfree for $2 – if you use the b1g1 with it that is 2 pkgs for $2 – won’t ever find them cheaper…if you don’t have RiteAid stores near you, or don’t want to mess around with the rebate, etc.

14 Willow June 29, 2009 at 6:45 pm

Any reason to do this deal this week rather than wait until later in the month when the Huggies might be on sale?

15 Kay June 29, 2009 at 6:49 pm

Only if you need diapers now… I think I might do one transacation this week, and another when they are on sale in a week or two. So that I don’t take the whole $50 blow in one week’s of grocery money, and because we are down to one pack.

16 Michelle June 29, 2009 at 9:49 pm

Does anybody know what Huggies usually go on sale for at Rite Aid? That might make a difference on if I wait for a sale or if I do the transaction now. Also does anybody know if Kimberly-Clark counts the sale price or the regular price to go towards the $50 total?

17 Tiffany June 30, 2009 at 12:33 am

Howcome when you go on riteaid.com it doesn’t list huggies as eligible products? Am I missing something?

18 Jenny June 30, 2009 at 6:44 am

For rebate #61 to get the $25 gift card, the rebate book says you have to purchase Huggies diapers 34-60 ct. When I was in the store yesterday, I noted that the jumbo packs had less than 34 diapers in them (at least for the bigger sizes). So I don’t see how this deal would work. Somebody correct me if I’m missing something!

19 Angie June 30, 2009 at 7:45 am

I bought size 4 snug and dry 31 count and saw this morning that I will be getting the gift card.

20 SC June 30, 2009 at 8:25 am

Kay and Angie– so you bought the size 4 jumbo packs (31 ct.) and the rebate did go through? I know that until recently the size 4 jumbo packs had 34 diapers, but now they’re down to only 31, so maybe that’s why they work. I need to buy size 4’s but I want to be sure that the deal will work before I do it! Thanks!

21 Kay June 30, 2009 at 8:28 am

Jenny – For #61 It is HUGGIES SUPREME® or HUGGIES® Snug & Dry Diapers, 34-60 ct.

For #800 (the free pack) It is Purchase Five (5) Packages:
• Huggies Supreme, 22-46 ct.
• Huggies Snug & Dry, 26-60 ct.

For #53 It is Purchase One (1):
• Mega Pack Diapers

It also depends on this size of the diaper (1-6) and if you are buying regular (Snug& Dry) or the supremes; They each have a differnet number of diapers for each size. HTH.
For Example, my baby is in a size 4 and I buy the Snug & Dry Huggies. The jumbo packs (smaller pk) has 34 diapers in it and the Mega pk has 60. So I can qualify for rebates #61 and #800 and #53 given that I buy 5 packs.

22 Carrie June 30, 2009 at 8:33 am

Michelle-
Kimberly Clark isn’t counting anything — it’s a rebate through Rite-Aid and Rite-Aid’s system electronically reads your receipt (if you enter it online). They will count the price the diapers ring up for on your receipt.

Lela-
It’s never been that way in the past (and I’ve been doing Rite-Aid rebates for about as long as they’ve been around). Coupons count as a form of payment. I’d wager your manager is wrong. Whatever the diapers ring up for is the price that is counted towards the rebate (or giftcard in this case).

23 Julie June 30, 2009 at 9:41 am

For the $25 Rx Gift card, I got an email with a PDF attached a few weeks ago. It had 2 coupons so I could transfer 2 Rx. It expires 6/30/09 – today.

24 Tami McLain June 30, 2009 at 9:44 am

so you are entering your receipt information online for your $25 gift card? Does anyone know how long it takes to receive that in the mail? Where can you find the rebate information?

25 Carrie June 30, 2009 at 10:43 am

Tami-
Go to Riteaid.com and click on the Single Check Rebates to sign up for the program or to view this month’s rebate/promo details. It takes a good 6-8 weeks after you request your check and/or giftcard for the giftcard to arrive in the mail.

26 fairy dust June 30, 2009 at 10:44 am

For those asking about new Rx transfer coupons, our weekly (Sunday) circular had two more in it this past Sunday, expiring later in July. HOWEVER, I didn’t read them closely enough and couldn’t use them – they’re good only for transferred Rx’s, not for new ones (which seems truly stupid to me…). So they want my transferred business where I have just one more refill left on the Rx, but they don’t want new Rx’s with multiple refills? Yeah, okay… :P

27 Jo Riddle June 30, 2009 at 8:49 pm

Kay, I just did this deal Monday and there was sale price on the shelf tag of $9.99. I didn’t realize this was last weeks sale until the diapers didn’t ring up for sale price. The manager let me have them at that price anyway, so sweet deal for me! It made a difference of $7.50, so worth it to see if they go on sale again.

28 Jani July 1, 2009 at 5:10 pm

For the rebate #800 (coupon for free pack of diapers) I don’t see anywhere where it limits the SIZE of package…. it says EXACTLY this: “Buy any five (5) packages of participating HUGGIES Diapers and receive a coupon for a 6th pack of HUGGIES Diapers Free! Valid only on products purchased 4/26-7/25. Purchase Five (5) Packages of any variety – Huggies Diapers or Training Pants and receive back by mail a FREE Voucher for a 6th pack of Huggies Diapers or Training Pants”
The fine print says: “Voucher valued at up to 11.49 & valid for Huggies Supreme Diapers 20-44 ct., Huggies Snug & Dry 23-40 ct.”
IE: The only limit on size is on the pack you get for free, NOT the five you buy to get the free voucher, so buying 1 mega and 4 jumbo’s works!!
Sorry for the long comment!!

29 Christie July 2, 2009 at 8:27 pm

Tomorrow, I’m going to do the scenerio from several comments above from Kay. My issue is that I don’t think the math is right for the final price per pack. Between the 2 transactions, I will have spent 48.45 OOP. They are going to rebate me $2 for #53 and $25 for #61. This brings my oop total to 21.45. Rebate # 800 is not going to send me any money to reduce my oop expense. It really just allows me to divide my total oop by 6 instead of 5. So, in the end, I will have spent 21.45 oop and received 6 packs of diapers (including the free one from #800). 21.45/6=3.57 per pack. It’s still a good deal, but truly, it’s not the less than $2/pack that everyone seems to think.
