CVS: Pampers deal update (edited)

by crystal on June 8, 2009

Pampers_logo
I mentioned the "smoking hot Pampers deal" in CVS post this week and wanted to give an update on it. Apparently, while the deal is advertised clearly on the CVS website, it is not advertised in-store or in any ad and the $5 ECBs have not seemed to print successfully for anyone.

However, because this deal is clearly mentioned on the CVS website, the stores should honor it. I would recommend bringing a print out of the online advertisement with you when you shop and showing it to the cashier or manager before you checkout to make sure they will honor it.

The cashier or manager will have to manually issue you your ECBs as they will not print automatically. If they are unable or unwilling to do this, you will not get your ECBs. So please check before you purchase the items to make sure you will get your ECBs.

Edited: As of 10:00 a.m. CST this morning, the online page no longer
mentions this deal. I am trying to determine whether CVS decided to
pull the online ad mention because their system isn't working correctly
or because they are pulling the deal. I have yet to hear an official
word but if you find out anything, please comment and let us know. My
apologies that what I thought would be a great deal has turned into a
bit of a fiasco!

There is no limit clearly stated online, but I've heard rumors of it being a limit of 3 packages per transaction or possibly per card. Since this is a deal that only works manually, it will technically be the store manager's prerogative to decide what the limits are. Again, I'd recommend asking what the limit is.

As always, please be courteous and polite. There is no need for bargain shoppers to become frustrated or flustered at store managers and thus create a bad reputation for themselves. While this is a great deal and it'd be wonderful to get to stock up on diapers at such an incredible price, at the same time, if it ends up not working at your store because your manager is unable or unwilling to manually issue the ECBs, don't be disheartened! There are always plenty more great deals to be had at other times and other stores. :)

i did this deal yesterday… i had to go home and get the print out, but they did honor it. they told me it was a limit of 3 and they did have to do it manually. i never thought to ask about 3x transaction vs. 3x card… shoot!

Rachel June 8, 2009 at 8:08 am

I did the deal yesterday with no problems (College Station, Texas) however I did bring the printout. I also had a $4 off any 20 purchase along with $1 off coupon which got me 3 jumbo bags of diapers for $6.62.

Paige June 8, 2009 at 8:14 am

i did this yesterday, brought the printout, and they had to manually print the rewards, but they did.

Jolyn June 8, 2009 at 8:18 am

YMMV on this one. Our store yesterday didn’t recognize cvstoday.com as part of cvs.com and wouldn’t honor a printout. But it’s a great deal if you can get it to work!

Barb June 8, 2009 at 8:23 am

If you click on the links you provided, that deal no longer shows!!!

kim June 8, 2009 at 8:25 am

The 8.99 is advertised but they pulled the ECB ad. So unless you printed the ad yesterday, there is no way of proving it at this point.

Amy June 8, 2009 at 8:26 am

They have to print your receipt and then scan your receipt for the ECB’s to print, but yes it works and it’s a great deal!

Hannah June 8, 2009 at 8:26 am

Per my cvs in TN its limit 1 per household & your ecbs will print on your first receipt in july

allison June 8, 2009 at 8:29 am

The cvs website link is no longer advertising $5 ECB or even a mention of the sale price…I think they might have realized their mistake and taken it down.

Allison June 8, 2009 at 8:29 am

I went to the site yesterday and saw the advertised ECBs. I just now linked to it again to print the ad, but the advertised ECBs are gone! I don’t see it anymore. What a bummer!

Shelli W June 8, 2009 at 8:30 am

I went out today to try and print the ad. . .the ad is gone! Anyone know where to find it now?? I did buy the pampers yesterday and went out today to get the ad so i can take it back to the store. . .grr.

Marie June 8, 2009 at 8:31 am

Usually with CVS it’s three times per card.

Krista June 8, 2009 at 8:33 am

It looks like the deal has been removed from the CVS website…?

Lisa June 8, 2009 at 8:33 am

FYI – it looks like they have changed the website. I don’t see any mention on the ExtraBucks deal anymore.

Dani June 8, 2009 at 8:35 am

It seems as if they have pulled the ad from online. When I click the link here it is just a pampers ad not the deal for ECBs. I wish I would have printed it yesterday.

Liz June 8, 2009 at 8:36 am

I also did the deal yesterday…had to go home and print the online ad, and went back…was refunded $10 ECB with no problem from the manager!

Danielle June 8, 2009 at 8:39 am

Crystal, it’s gone now. CVS changed the wording and removed the ECB from the promo :(

Marie June 8, 2009 at 8:39 am

It looks like they have removed this deal online just in the past 5 minutes (literally as I was going to print it out).

Kimberly June 8, 2009 at 8:39 am

Did they change their website? I saw the ad yesterday, but when I just went to print it out, it just says “Sale! $8.99 with card.” There is no mention of the 5 ECBs anymore. Unless I’m just missing it?? Is anyone else finding it?

Autumn June 8, 2009 at 8:41 am

My store won’t honor the ad, they told me I need to contact Customer Service. Hopefully it’ll work out better for other people. It seems that it is a YMMV situation!!

Belinda June 8, 2009 at 8:42 am

Heads up! I just checked out the link/website and they took the deal down.

Belinda

Andrea June 8, 2009 at 8:42 am

I did the deal at my CVS yesterday. The ECB’s did not print automatically but they did honor it. The sales clerk said they had called the 800 customer service # earlier over it and there is apparently an automated recording on it about this deal. So if your CVS does not honor it you may want to mention that. The clerk also confirmed there is a limit of three. Hope this helps and it works for you!

barbara June 8, 2009 at 8:43 am

They took the offer off of the website. I didn’t think to print the ad, I didn’t think it was a secret deal.

melissa June 8, 2009 at 8:43 am

I clicked on the link to the CVS website that you put up on Saturday so I could print the pampers deal and it now doesn’t show up. I can’t find it anywhere on the CVS website. Is it possible that they removed it?

Laura June 8, 2009 at 8:45 am

I think that CVS may have fixed their website. When I click on your links I see NOTHING about any extra buck deals. Am I missing something? Or have they fixed the link?

Kari June 8, 2009 at 8:45 am

When you click on the link on the website, it is no longer listing the $5 ecb deal- did they pull this???

melissa June 8, 2009 at 8:46 am

It appears the deal has been taken off their website, I saw it this morning, then just went back to print it out and it was gone.

Amy Dearie June 8, 2009 at 8:49 am

the link you have no longer shows that deal..I did see it there yesterday though. Bummer..What would possess them to sort-of advertise a deal like THAT? Don’t get our hopes up like that! ;)

Jennie June 8, 2009 at 8:50 am

I went this morning and the manager said I needed to bring the online print out to get more pkgs (I only had one pkg) but she manually gave me the ECBs.

But, when I click on the link provided, I don’t see anything about the ECB deal. Did they change the website?

Cheryl June 8, 2009 at 8:51 am

I think they removed this ad from the web site. When I follow the links this morning, it only shows a Pamper’s ad. I was on there yesterday and failed to print it and am kicking myselfin the pants today. Poo! Anyway have a PDF copy they can send me?

Amy Dearie June 8, 2009 at 8:51 am

THis place apparently has a pdf that might work : http://iheartcvs.com/2009/06/pampers-0607-0613.html

April - Team Tottle June 8, 2009 at 8:52 am

I can’t find the online advertisement, any help? The link I clicked on in the post just took me to a page that advertised Pampers in general, but there was no mention of a sale or ECB’s or anything.

Justamom June 8, 2009 at 8:52 am

Very good advice. I believe it was because of my good relationship with the manager at CVS that he was willing to work with me in going the extra mile to investigate as much as he could while I waited in the store. (Because he could have turned me away and said “Call 1800 CVS”.) He gave me the ECB’s because he found out the code. I think there is hope for others who bought the Pampers and saved their receipt and printout.

Kimberly June 8, 2009 at 8:55 am

I just called their customer service number and was told that the ad had been incorrect. There is actually no ECB deal and is has been removed from the website. Bummer!!

Marni June 8, 2009 at 8:55 am

Funny, I looked at the website yesterday and printed it.

It’s completely different today! The offer is not there when you click the link to go to the CVS website.

colleen June 8, 2009 at 8:57 am

I don’t see it advertised on the website anymore.

Kelly C June 8, 2009 at 8:57 am

The links that you use, Crystal, no longer go to the EBC deal. Perhaps they removed it?

Chrystal June 8, 2009 at 8:58 am

Thankfully, I’d already printed the deal from the site, but I just rechecked, and it no longer mentions ECBs

Delores June 8, 2009 at 9:03 am

Does anyone know — can we call to get the ECBs from the main customer service line?

shannon June 8, 2009 at 9:03 am

Didn’t work for me, but I still took the diapers because $8.99 isn’t bad. However, CVS has been really disappointing me lately, this is a total of $45 in ECBs over a few months I have missed out on because of store or website error. I am starting to think it’s a bait-n-switch. I am going to have to start shopping Walgreens. BTW, the Pampers deal has totally been taken down off the CVS website.

Kim June 8, 2009 at 9:04 am

The reason they’ve been doing a limit of 3 is because the ad says a limit of 3 for the 8.99 price for the jumbo pack.

Kim June 8, 2009 at 9:04 am

OK – so I don’t see it advertised anymore BUT….

I called customer care and it IS a legitimate offer and the ECBs should be printing by tomorrow. I was told that if I make the purchase and the ECBs do not print, they will credit me with the ECBs when I call. Stupid me was so excited that I forgot to ask the limit…LOL!!!

Jenny June 8, 2009 at 9:05 am

I bought two packs yesterday. The ECBs, of course didn’t print out, but I called customer service and it was no problem – the ECBs should be available to print from my card in 48 hours :) CVS really does have great customer service!

momtaylor June 8, 2009 at 9:05 am

It is no longer on their site…not sure if it is because they goofed or because it is fixed to print automatically…which does not seem to be the case….might be dead.

Catherine June 8, 2009 at 9:06 am

The ad isn’t on the website anymore – I was going to email CVS customer care with the link and see if they would add the ECB to my account, but since the link is changed now, I guess I’ll just try to get $6.99 worth of enjoyment out of the diapers! :)

Finance Girl June 8, 2009 at 9:07 am

Can’t you call the 1-800 number after you purchase them. That is what I’m counting on, since I don’t have a printer at home.

Melaina Jenkins June 8, 2009 at 9:10 am

I clearly saw this deal yesterday online and in the store, a $4 coupon printed the first time, so I thought maybe I had seen it wrong. They then manually printed a second $4 coupon after I explained it to them. But now, the deal seems to have disappeared from the cvs website for me to print. Is anyone else having this trouble?

Finance Girl June 8, 2009 at 9:12 am

Ugh, now the website has been changed and doesn’t mention the $5 ECB at all.

Jenny June 8, 2009 at 9:12 am

The link is not showing me a “deal” or sale, it is just a pampers advertisement?

Amanda June 8, 2009 at 9:16 am

I can’t find the ad on your link. It takes me to cvs today but no mention of ecb deal at all.

Candice June 8, 2009 at 9:24 am

It looks like you’ll get the $5 ECB on your first receipt in July. Might want to read the comments on this blog entry:
http://www.faithfulprovisions.com/2009/06/07/299-pampers-deal-cvs/

gretchen June 8, 2009 at 9:30 am

it looks like they just updated the website, as the $5 ecb note is gone…

Andrea June 8, 2009 at 9:33 am

Crystal,

I just clicked on the CVStoday.com to link to my posting about the deal. There is now nothing about the $5 ECB??? So I am not sure what’s going on. Just wanted to let you know & see if you’ve heard anything.

Kris B June 8, 2009 at 9:34 am

I clicked on the link and have looked around on cvs’ website but I can’t find the info re: ecbs and the promo. All it says is that they are $8.99 a pack. Does anyone else see where it says ECBs?
Thanks!

Katherine June 8, 2009 at 9:34 am

Reference to the $5 ECB is gone from the CVS site.

Allison June 8, 2009 at 9:35 am

Worked for me here in Texas and the girl in line in front of me too–I had a print out of the website with me though and the cashier did have to do it manually. I got two packages and two $5 ECBs!

Kati June 8, 2009 at 9:35 am

The limit at my store was 3 b/c the pampers sale limit is 3. I did print it out and bring it with me.

Alicia June 8, 2009 at 9:37 am

They honored my printed page this morning, but the deal is no longer on the website. If you haven’t already printed it, I’m not sure you will be able to.

Sheri June 8, 2009 at 9:37 am

CS said they had a glitch and everything should be right (ECBs printing) as of 9AM today. If you dont get your ECBs or are refused, call the CVS 800 number and they will manually put them on for you.

Sarah June 8, 2009 at 9:38 am

I was going to do this deal today, but now when I go back to the website, they’ve taken off their advertisement wording for ECB’s. Now it’s just information about Pampers. Sad!

Nicole June 8, 2009 at 9:46 am

I must either be missing something all together or they aren’t doing this in my area. When I click on the links above it takes me to a page about Pampers but absolutely nothing about ECB’s or a sale.

Kristen June 8, 2009 at 9:47 am

I just called customer service about mine not printing. They were very nice and placed the Extrabucks on my account so they will print the next time I shop.

Risha June 8, 2009 at 9:49 am

I attempted to do this deal yesterday. I bought three packs and was hoping to get 15 ECBs. However, the manager would only give me 5 ECBs in case it was intended to be “buy 3, get 5 ECBs.” I didn’t understand that since buying three wasn’t mentioned anywhere on the ad. The limit of 3 was only mentioned in the regular ad for getting the sale price of 8.99. The manager did say I could come back and get the 10 ECBs if I found out any more info. I was very polite, and they were very helpful.

Natalie June 8, 2009 at 9:49 am

Huh, now I don’t see any mention of the ECBs on the website, via your link. Did they change the ad online? I know it was there yesterday.

Trista June 8, 2009 at 9:51 am

It looks like they “fixed” the problem. The website no longer says about getting $5 ECB on pampers :( I didn’t get a chance to print it out either

Diana June 8, 2009 at 9:51 am

I live in Northwest Indiana and did not have any problems with doing the transaction. My cashier was familiar with it and manually printed it out without me even having to ask for it!
Thank you for the heads-up on this deal!

Diana

Kelly June 8, 2009 at 9:52 am

Yeah I was bummed about the deal not printing my ECB yesterday… I usually have no luck talking to the local staff at the store. But in the past I have had a lot of luck calling customer service. The gal was aware of the problem and appologized she said she would manually generate a coupon for me within 48 hours. She did say the limit is 3 at this time and they are trying to fix it to print automatically. You can always call in and have them do it for you at the 800 number on the back of your CVS card. ALSO.. have you noticed they CHANGED THE WEBSITE !! It no longer states the $5 ECB deal. But they still seem to be honoring it for those of us who are aware of it.

karen June 8, 2009 at 9:55 am

the way i understood the ad was that it was a limit of 3 packages of diapers per card. i haven’t tried the deal yet but sure hope it’ll work!!! also, in my sale paper (advertised without the ecbs) it stated a limit of 3 packs@$8.99.

Christina June 8, 2009 at 9:56 am

I’m not seeing the sale listed online anywhere? Could it be that they removed it from the website?? Anyone else see it? I followed Crystal’s link….but only just now at almost 11am EST.

Betsy June 8, 2009 at 9:58 am

I followed the link in the original post but do not see the special advertized. Am I not looking in the right place or have they removed it? All I see is info.on Pampers diapers. Thanks.

Shannon June 8, 2009 at 9:58 am

I see the link no longer says anything about the ECBs… they are taking it down apparently.

Alyson June 8, 2009 at 9:59 am

It doesn’t look like the advertisement is still available online – or am I doing something wrong? thanks!

Kelly June 8, 2009 at 10:06 am

Call the # on the back of your card – the lady honored it for me and told me my EB’s will print out next time I am in the store!

Trista June 8, 2009 at 10:13 am

I think CVS is being very inconsistent. I just talked with a rep and she said it was only valid until 10am this morning yet I am reading that others said it would be fixed today…but not that I think of it…the online ad DID say it was valid through 6/13. So maybe I will go to my CVS store and check with someone before I actually buy them…

Karen June 8, 2009 at 10:33 am

CVS Today is a legitimate CVS site. If you purchased these diapers and didn’t get the ECBs, call corporate and they will add them to your account (easier than making a trip to the store). Have your CVS card and your receipt handy, as well as the UPC code on the diapers. Limit 3 per card! I just did that this morning.

Jessica June 8, 2009 at 10:34 am

I bought 3 yesterday and I calle dthis morning about not getting the ECB. They said they credited me $15 and it will print in 2 days. SO even if they did not print, call custm=omer service and they will credit it to you.

Anne June 8, 2009 at 10:38 am

I just spoke with a rep who said that the deal yesterday was a mistake and that purchases made before 9 AM EST this morning will be credited the extra bucks, but no one else will.

After I told her that was disheartening since I don’t shop on Sundays and was looking forward to doing that this morning, she said, “Thanks for calling CVS customer service. Don’t forget to check our website, CVS.com, for other great deals every day!” I laughed to myself and thought yep, great deals like that Pampers “mistake”!

Tiffany June 8, 2009 at 10:40 am

I called customer service this morning. CVS pulled the add. But, if you have it printed you can still get your diapers for $8.99 minus coupons. Then you need to CALL customer service for them to manually issue your ECB’s to print within 48 hours. The managers will not be force printing the ecb’s anymore, unless you are lucky :)

Christy June 8, 2009 at 11:10 am

I purchased one package yesterday and the ECB’s did not print. I called Customer Service today and was told that the bucks would print on my next receipt. I asked if the deal was still available and was told that “the promotion ended at 10:00 this morning.”

So it seems like if you did it yesterday you should be able to get them to honor it if you call customer service but you will not get the ECB’s if you try again

Kendra at New Life On A Homestead June 8, 2009 at 11:11 am

I just called Customer Service (888-607-4287) and told them that I had seen the ad, purchased the diapers, and no ECB’s had printed, and now the ad is gone. The nice man told me that the deal ended at 10am this morning, but for the confusion he was going to credit my account with the $10 in ECB’s I should have received. He said after 48 hours my $10 should print off on my next receipt.

Jean Starling June 8, 2009 at 11:26 am

I just contacted CVS customer care and they told me that the deal is still good. I guess they are having trouble with the system but they are still honoring it. Until they get everything worked out you are just supposed to go to the store and buy them. After you do that call them back and they will credit your account within 48 hours with the extra bucks. There is a limit of 3 which is still an awesome deal. I just did this about 20 minutes ago and they are in the process of crediting my account with $15 in extra bucks.

Crissy T. June 8, 2009 at 11:27 am

Here is a link to a PDF file that contains a screenshot of a Firefox browser with the original page open (that clearly shows the $5 ECB deal and the valid dates). It may get you absolutely nowhere at the CVS store, but at least you’ll have a bit of “proof” (click the Download Now button once you go to the link below):

http://freepdfhost.com/form_page.php?id=2998

Lori June 8, 2009 at 11:37 am

The deal is still listed on the website with the $5 ECB’s on the CVS website. You just have to make an extra click. Go to CVS.com and on the home page, is the information for Pampers on sale for $8.99, which also says, “Learn More” as part of the ad. If you click on the ad, it takes you to the page that shows that the ECB’s should be rewarded.

Hope this helps!

melina June 8, 2009 at 11:40 am

I spoke to someone at CVS and they pulled the online ad because it wasn’t working in store but will honor if you call and hope to have it up and running in store in 48 hours

Lori June 8, 2009 at 11:48 am

Scratch that…confirmed by CVS that deal ended at 10:00 this morning for the ECB’s. Sorry.

Alissa June 8, 2009 at 11:53 am

I went this morning, told the lady behind the counter about it who called someone about it. She had to do it manually, but I think she was using the code from the candy. I guess I’m lucky!

erin w June 8, 2009 at 12:39 pm

they took down the part about the 5 ecbs this morning, i just got off the phone with cvs and they told me they promotion is over. if you bought pampers yesterday and they wouldn’t honor your printout, then you can call if you have your receipt and they can do something for you. unfortunately, my cashier told me to call cvs because it hadn’t printed for other people and so i went home without buying any. called this morning to find out what was up, and it’s over. too bad : /

Kaitlin June 8, 2009 at 12:45 pm

I just called Customer Care to have the ECBs credited to my account, as none printed out at checkout yesterday – no problem. She did say that they deal ended at 10:00 this morning, though, and that the system will not print ECBs the rest of the week.

rachel June 8, 2009 at 12:46 pm

My cashier told me yesterday that it was a corporate mistake. That it was never supposed to be a deal and someone accidentally posted it on the website. She was as happy as I was about the mistake, however, as she was stocking up on diapers for her grandson.

Elizabeth June 8, 2009 at 12:50 pm

I printed the ad this morning and went during lunch. The ECBs did not print, so the manager manually printed them for me. He didn’t know anything about the deal, but he was very nice about it.

Marie June 8, 2009 at 1:02 pm

The man with customer service told me the whole thing was a mistake. Apparently they forgot to put a upc scan or something like that on the ad to bring in to the store. In my opinion, if you were to take a copy of the previous (mistake) website printout, scan it in as a pdf, so others could take it to the store it would be considered fraud. Please, please, please keep things legit!

Summer June 8, 2009 at 1:04 pm

PER CVS CUSTOMER SERVICE, THIS PROMO HAS BEEN SUSPENDED INDEFINETELY. The Pampers are still on sale for $8.99 a package, but there will be no ECBs associated with this.

I was just there this morning and was speaking with one of the nicest cashiers. She wanted me to inform everyone I could that this promo was suspended.

Delilah Stewart June 8, 2009 at 1:18 pm

I tried to go yesterday and they told me to come back today. I went today and kinda got the runaround about calling customer service. I called them and they told me the deal ended at 10 EST. I bought the diapers at 11 CST. They were very nice and gave me the ECB’s anyway because no one at my store could give me a straight answer! We will see if I really get them.

Shannon June 8, 2009 at 1:23 pm

I called CVS this morning… they confirmed the deal was legit and are crediting my account with the extra bucks I did not receive… just call customer service and bypass the store management.

L June 8, 2009 at 1:24 pm

I went to CVS today with a printed ad, and the $5 ECB did not print out and they would not honor the printed out ad that I brought with me.

Christi June 8, 2009 at 1:40 pm

JUST FYI – I just got off the phone with CS. Super super friendly. They have ENDED this deal as of 10 am today. According to CS it is no longer valid, BUT if you did purchase them before 10 am today, they will program the $5 ECB to print the next time you shop (after 48 hrs) if you call 800-746-7287.

Erica June 8, 2009 at 1:47 pm

I went in to CVS (in Los Angeles) today after the deal had disappeared from their website. I had taken a screen shot of the website last night (my printer is in my daughter’s room and she was asleep) and printed it off this morning. The manager was very nice and honored the deal with no problem (our jumbos aren’t even on sale). However, he said if I wanted to get more than one pack I needed more than one print out. So I walked all the way home, printed the website twice more, and went back. They honored the deal again and the manager was very nice. However, as soon as he walked away the cashier kept saying, “I can’t believe he’s letting you do this.” Whatever. I got 3 packs.

Also, I wanted to say that it looks like Pampers are shrinking their jumbo packs. The size 4 Cruisers that I bought had 30 diapers in them, but they rang up as “27 count.”

Felice June 8, 2009 at 2:00 pm

I must have had a really great clerk, because I went at 11:30 CST to mine, and asked before i purchased and she told me she is was a deal, and that she would manually give them to me, but she said because the store ad for the 8.99 price was limit 3 she could only do it 3 times, but $15 was still nice to have…

Saving Mom June 8, 2009 at 2:02 pm

I had a similar experience as some others above. This morning I purchased one Jumbo pack and the ECBs didn’t print. I asked the Manager and got the “call the 800 number” response. I called customer service and the nice woman said: (1) they are aware of the problem and (2) there is a glitch in the system which they are trying to fix. She credited me the ECBs which should print in the next 48 hours. She also said the limit on the deal is 3 and I could go purchase 2 more packs and tell the manager to call customer care if he didn’t believe that the deal was real. Until corporate finds the “glitch” the manager would have to manually print the ECBs. Good luck to all!

ami June 8, 2009 at 2:09 pm

I called corporate and they said you either have to have the store manager do the ecb’s manually. For example, you buy three packs of diapers and then after the transaction they give you a coupon $15 ecb’s. or if the manager is not ok with doing this if you call corporate when you get back home they will put the ecb’s on your card.

francie June 8, 2009 at 2:12 pm

Just got off the phone with Customer care…. if you purchased diapers sat, sun or early mon. morning they will credit you account with 5 extra care bucks… just call customer care..otherwise CVS ended the promotion

Crystal June 8, 2009 at 2:32 pm

I called the ECB 800 # and was told that the deal was an error and because of that expired this morning. I had the print out from yesterday but was told that they would not honor it because it had expired. I told them that the ad said it expired on 6/13 – she put me on hold, but then came back and once again said that they would not honor it. I asked if I had gotten the diapers yesterday would it had been honored and she said yes! I argued that it wasn’t fair, but to no avail. If you got them yesterday it seems you would be able to get your ECB’s. I really didn’t like this answer and made sure to make that clear!

Jennie June 8, 2009 at 2:40 pm

I went in today around 11:30, and bought 3 packs. the ECBs didn’t print, so I asked about it. They called the manager over, who said that he had been told that the online ad was a mistake and would be taken down today (as it apparantly was while I was in there). He honored the deal for me though and printed me $15 in ECBs…thank you Nashville CVS!

karen June 8, 2009 at 2:45 pm

My CVS is honoring the sale for today–I asked in a very very nice voice. I love the employees at my CVS–they get just as excited about the great bargains as I do! The day manager always manages to find a sticker or lollypop for my daughter, they really go above and beyond.

Tracy June 8, 2009 at 2:47 pm

since I printed this deal before it was taken off their site, do you think I can still bring the printed page to my local CVS store and be given the deal???

Rachel June 8, 2009 at 2:55 pm

Our manager gave us the ECBs since we had the printout. We got a little attitude from her, but what could she do? We only purchased 3 packs and are waiting to see how this all pans out to see if we are buying more on relatives cards… :)

Amy Dearie June 8, 2009 at 3:20 pm

I took the pdf print out of the ad that was on there. I basically just told the cashier what she needed to do and surprisingly did so without argument or question. I took my mom so I got 6 packs with 2 CVS cards. :) Thanks!

Kim June 8, 2009 at 4:15 pm

I spoke to a manager when I was doing the deal yesterday. She called the corporate office and they told her that the online advertised ECB sale was a mistake, and they were working on fixing it. This is most likely why it is no longer up.

Michele June 8, 2009 at 4:26 pm

I went to CVS this morning and the manager had to call about it. They said it was a “mistake” and that they were pulling the ad. The manager was very nice and apologetic and she said that there would be some kind of promo on the 13th. So, I guess we will stay tuned! :)

Kristen June 8, 2009 at 5:09 pm

I was in the store this morning and when my EBs didn’t print the cashier called CVS directly. They said they pulled down the deal at 10am because it wasn’t working correctly and do not plan to honor any transactions after that time. Luckily my cashier made a big stink and they are honoring my purchase and adding EBs to my card which will print the next time I scan the card. so don’t get too excited because not all stores are just printing the EBs right then.

Christina June 8, 2009 at 5:33 pm

I printed that page yesterday from the site. Then I went in today, they still honored it. Now of course the site has changed but I talked to the manger (someone I have known for sometime now). HE told me that the whole thing started from a mistake. CVS was not supposed to put that deal up there. oops! lol

Ashley June 8, 2009 at 5:44 pm

Thankfully I printed off the online ad yesterday. I purchased 1 pack yesterday, no ECB’s printed but the manager on duty gave me back $5 in cash. I went to another CVS this morning, bought 2 packs and they honored the coupon and manually printed me out $10 ECB’s. I decided to try to go to one more CVS and just try to purchase 2 more packs and they let me! I bought a total of 5 packs of diapers without a problem. I really believe the key is to be sweet and patient and they are more than willing to work with you to solve the problem. Thanks CVS!

Beverly June 8, 2009 at 6:14 pm

I did this deal today (southeastern PA), and the store manager gave me the ECB’s manually. It took about 15 minutes of them being utterly confused and they were about to tell me that it was an online deal only, until they read the printout carefully. Then they apologized for taking so long and just printed out the ECB’s.

Linda June 8, 2009 at 6:29 pm

I contacted Customer Service and they credited it to my account.

Van June 8, 2009 at 6:53 pm

I called 1800ShopCVS -spoke to Bill, I told him the whole story and he informed me that it is a Valid promo, and there was a gliche in the system yesterday but everything should be fixed by tomorrow, he told me to go in and get what I need and there should not be any problem, informing me that the limit is 3, I ask him to call my store before heading over, which he did, I too call my store manager and told him how the ad was on last night but was no longer available this morning, he ask that I bring him the copy and they did it for me w/o any problem,, I overall LOVE my CVS!! They are just sooo nice and friendly. I gave them the printout in which they kept to cover their butts :) but hopefully everything will work out tomorrow for those who haven’t gotten in on it yet. Again, when I spoke to Bill from 1800ShopCVS he informed me that this deal is valid from 6/7-6/13 and it should start printing out EB tomorrow. :)

Rebekah June 8, 2009 at 7:08 pm

It’s possible that this deal will be working again tomorrow. That is the buzz going around at this point. It seems like if you call CS, they are giving conflicting reports, at least that has been the case throughout today. I’m going tomorrow to see if I can get them to honor the deal. My hope is that the EBs will just print. If not, I’ll be calling CS.

isa June 8, 2009 at 7:33 pm

My mgr refused to honor this deal even with the printout from the website.I just called customer service about mine not printing.and she would not honor it and give me the ECBs .because the deal was an error , Now I have to return them. since I bought 3 packs without any coupons and with credit card =(

anon June 8, 2009 at 7:46 pm

I called the 1800 number this afternoon regarding this “deal”. The operator asked me several questions about my receipt, verified my CVS card info, then indicated that the $5 extra bucks would be in my account within 48 hours. Too bad I didn’t buy more! :)

Frances Frugal Fairhope June 8, 2009 at 8:13 pm

The “$5 ECBs” has been removed from the site as of 4:45pm central time.

Here is what we and what our friend Lisa has done. Good luck and let us know how things turn out for you. Just remember, be nice, smile and stand up for yourself.

We called this morning about 11am central time and was told by a CVS representative that this offer was “posted in error” and that it had been removed from the site. Upon checking this site at 4:15pm it is there and has not been removed. We called the customer service desk again (1-888-607-4287) and was told that this “was not an valid offer and that the ECBs will not print and they will not give out the ECBs if you purchase the diapers”. We asked why the site was still posted and she said “that they were working on it”.

Lisa’s Experience:
I just called the number at the bottom of my printout from the CVS online ad that shows the $8.99 plus $5 Extra Bucks (1-888-607-4287.) Explained my situation to the rep and she put me on hold to check. About 30 sec. later she came back on and told me she was sorry but there was nothing she could do for me because that ad was a mistake and had been pulled at 10 am this morning and revised on their website. I told her I printed the ad off at about 8:30 am and made my purchases at 10:46 am. She again apologized and said there was nothing she could do. I politely asked for a manager, and got a floor supervisor after about a minute holding. I again explained the situation and she said she would go ahead and honor it, no argument. She had me read all the info from the top of my receipt and get the packages of Pampers to verify the UPC code. She said my $15 extra bucks (for buying three packs of diapers) will be available in about 48 hours because their system will take some time to update, and that it will print off at the bottom of my next store receipt to use on a future purchase. She said I could even just buy a 10 cent item, the coupon would print, and then be available to use in the store that day.

Lindsay June 8, 2009 at 8:17 pm

I just got back from my CVS (Alpharetta, GA) and the ECBs did not automatically print, but when I showed them my printout (luckily I printed yesterday) the manager manually printed them for me. I was pleasantly surprised and very grateful. But they acted like this was the first time they had seen or heard of this ad. Good luck to everyone else. It is worth a shot to ask the manager to override if you have a printout. You never know what they will say :)

Mommy Kennedy June 8, 2009 at 8:35 pm

Thanks for the update! I’m going to link to you now!

lauren June 8, 2009 at 9:56 pm

I printed the page and took it to CVS and they told me that it should print out a barcode with the coupon. Without the barcode there was no deal. There was no barcode on the one I printed. I might try a different CVS to see if they will honor it.

Vanessa June 8, 2009 at 10:16 pm

I called the CVS in our area tonight and asked if they were still honoring the deal. The assistant manager said yes. When I got there, he had an email with the code to enter. I got three packs with the $5 ECB. He said someone posted the add without CVSs permission. Give it a try, all they can do is tell you no, but remember to be kind…..

Vanessa June 8, 2009 at 10:17 pm

I should have said $5 ECB with each pack….

Kim June 8, 2009 at 10:47 pm

I saw the corporate memo tonight when I bought my 3 packs of Pampers at my favorite CVS store. It says to honor the printout if a customer brings it in. This deal was posted in error, but it wasn’t the customer’s fault. My shift supervisor happily gave me $15 ECBs after the transaction. Everything was very smooth as usual.

Kristina June 9, 2009 at 9:58 am

I went into CVS on Sunday night to snag this deal and take advantage of a couple of ECBs before they expired that day. I was upset to find out that the $5 ECB didn’t print and showed the cashier the printout of the ad. She was really sweet and called over the on-call manager, who was not so sweet. She refused to honor it and insisted that I had not clicked far enough – that it was really part of the Pamperes gifts to grow ad that said Earn Free Rewards when you buy Pampers Diapers and wipes. I had mentioned how other managers had pushed it through and she then accused me of coming in earlier and questioning how I knew that she had done that?!? It was really kind of bizarre. Anyways she told me I could call the 1-800-Shop CVS number the next day.

I just got around to doing that and the woman I spoke with was very kind and helpful. She apologized and said that there was a problem with that promotion. She took down all of my info (from the receipt and even the UPC of the package that I purchased) and said that she has added the $5 to my account and in 48 hrs the ECBs will print at the bottom of my receipt. I asked if the promotion was still valid and she apologized and said it was not.
So… if you got it on Sunday and didn’t get your ECBs just call the number and they will help you. If you didn’t get it, sorry!

I just wanted to update everyone because I know I was wondering about what was going on.

amy June 9, 2009 at 11:28 am

It appears that there is an internal email that instructs the CVS managers what to key in to print the $5 ECB.

Heather June 9, 2009 at 12:01 pm

I just presented the print out and the manager manually printed the $15 ECB receipt for me. I made the purchase at 12:00 pm EST.

Emily Anne June 9, 2009 at 4:20 pm

My manager said that he received an email Monday afternoon stating that the ad was a misprint and it was a one day sale for Sunday only. However, he did say that CVS said to make customers happy.

Mandy June 9, 2009 at 5:26 pm

For some reason I wasn’t able to print the online add, but my brother works at a CVS and I asked him about this deal. He said his specific store actually received an email from their district manager AUTHORIZING the deal. I did also try calling 3 other stores just to see and they were completely unaware of the add and had not received anything from their district offices. I guess it depended on each specific store’s managers rather than a whole corporate CVS thing. In the end I was able to pay $22.00 for 3 pack of diapers and get $15.00 in ECBs back. I was/am grateful! I’m sorry it didn’t work out for everyone. Oh, my sister also tried this deal (not at my brother’s store) and they wouldn’t give her the ECBs, so she called corporate and they knew what she was talking about right away and credited the ECBs to her account – you’all could try doing that. :)

mike June 9, 2009 at 9:44 pm

I spoke w/cvs rep. They will honor the deal if you bought the diapers before they pulled the ad. You have to provide them with the receipt info and upc #’s on packages and they will credit your account with extra bucks. They said they had it up wrong and were changing it.

Becky June 10, 2009 at 5:32 am

I went to my CVs (Rocky Mount, VA) and I asked before I purchased them if it would print ECB’s. The cashier seemed to think it would, but at the end of my reciept it did not print ECB’s. The manager made a phone call and I should be getting my ECB’s by Friday ( they did it electronically).

Kristen June 10, 2009 at 9:37 am

I went this morning and the cashier and store manager initiated a conversation about ensuring I got the ECBS!! I mentioned that the ad was pulled and they said they have to honor it. They manually printed my ECBS. So I got a jumbo pack of NB Swaddlers for $6.99 with my $2 coupon plus 5ECBS. Pretty cool!

Amy June 10, 2009 at 8:25 pm

If you bought Pampers on Sunday only and did not receive your ECBS, email cvs about it. I did. This is what they wrote back:

“Thank you for contacting CVS Pharmacy ExtraCare regarding your extra bucks not printing for Pampers.

I apologize for the ExtraBucks not printing at the time of the purchase. After reviewing the purchase made, as well as the promotions, I have issued a courtesy coupon in the amount of $5.00 on your account. The coupon will be available to print at the bottom of your register receipt on 06-13-2009 or any time there after when you have your card scanned while making a purchase. Please be advised they have ended the promotion on 06-08-2009.”

So if you didn’t get your ECBS and the store would not give them to you, I would try emailing them about it.

This covers all the bases = saves you money, helps the environment, helps your health, makes you feel better, it’s so easy to do and it costs less than $50.00; Save money and the Earth and be clean at the same time! Add Bathroom Bidet Sprayers to all your bathrooms. I think Dr. Oz on Oprah said it best: “if you had pee or poop on your hand, you wouldn’t wipe it off with paper, would you? You’d wash it off” Available at http://www.bathroomsprayers.com with these you won’t even need toilet paper any more, just a towel to dry off! Don’t worry, you can still leave some out for guests and can even make it the soft stuff without felling guilty. It’s cheap and can be installed without a plumber; and runs off the same water line to your toilet. You’ll probably pay for it in a few months of toilet paper savings. And after using one of these you won’t know how you lasted all those years with wadded up handfuls of toilet paper. As for water use a drought is always a concern and must be dealt far exceed the water use of household users and in the case of toilet paper manufacture it is huge. The pollution and significant power use from that manufacturing process also contributes to global warming so switching to a hand bidet sprayer and lowering your toilet paper use is very green in multiple ways. Melissa June 11, 2009 at 9:32 am

I talked to an employee at CVS and they said it was a misprint and so CVS pulled it from the site. I got in on it just in time because I printed it right before they pulled it so she honored it and forced the bucks.

Renee Bailie June 11, 2009 at 9:36 am

I’m new to CVS shopping – our Longs drugs in town just switched to CVS last week. So I went in yesterday just wondering what they would do with my printout. The manager did say that it was a misprint, but since I had the printout they would honor it (with a gift card) but only for one package. I was thrilled! So after not finding them in the diaper isle, I asked one of the workers if they had anymore and instead of offering me a rain check she told me she would give me the mega package for $8.99! So I walked away with a $17.99 package for only $2.99 (after coupons and ECB). Thank you for your constant help each week with your website! I have definitely appreciated the opportunity to save more money for our family!

Mindy June 11, 2009 at 1:19 pm

I tried this a few days ago, and my ECB didn’t print– I had printed out the ad but my cashier didn’t honor it. But I went home and sent an email from the CVS Extra Care website and just received an email saying that my $5 ECB coupon will print out on my next CVS visit.
