Kroger: Country Time money-maker

by crystal on May 29, 2009

Country time
Through June 2, 2009, if you buy any two Country Time drink mixes at Kroger (on sale at $1 each at most stores), you'll get a $1 catalina coupon to use on your next purchase. Buy 2 and use this $1.50/2 coupon and you'll end up getting both free plus $0.50 overage after the coupon, sale, and $1 catalina.

This catalina deal is likely also running at other stores. If you know it's running at yours, leave a comment to let us know.

Thanks, Mercedes!

If you buy 4, will you get 2 $1 Catalinas? Or do you have to do them in separate transactions?

Thanks!

This Catalina deal is running at the Kroger in Heath, OH.

You’ll need to seperate it into two transactions, I think…

And this is running at Meijer’s as well.. let’s home for a B1G2 free sale!

I got the ‘catalina’, but it was NOT a coupon so the register wouldn’t redeem it. Had to go to customer service to take care of it. Didn’t enjoy that. I’m in the Nashville, TN area, btw.

*Hope.. I never claimed to be able to type though! :D

I bought 4 in 1 transaction before I knew about the catalina and I only got 1 catalina. This was working in Henderson, TX.

I was wondering the same thing…. will more then one catalina print per purchase???

8 Lisa May 29, 2009 at 11:07 am

I think you need seperate transactions!

It worked in Southern Indiana this morning. On sale for $1.25 each. After coupons and $1 cat = free (no money maker, but a great deal nonetheless!).

Do you happen to know if this works at Fred Meyer stores? They are owned by Kroger and sell Kroger brand products, but I’ve known if the Kroger specials apply there or not.

Thanks,

What do you do if the catalina does not print? I purchased these but did not get the catalina. Thanks.

I bought 4 and only got 1 catalina. (in Indianapolis) Kraft Mac and Cheese Dinners were priced @ 1.61 (closeout) and if you bought 2, produced a $1 catalina as well-pretty good deal if you use the $1/1 coupon…

13 Jolyn May 29, 2009 at 12:46 pm

I believe that they have to be separate transactions, though I haven’t tried myself.

I DO know that the Cats will roll into your next transaction, however. You’ll need to buy more than just $0.50 worth of lemonade to use it, though. We bought $1 raspberries as filler!

You SHOULD still get two. I have done similar transaction at Kroger before and gotten multiple catalinas.

The $1/ea sale ends at my Central OH Kroger on 5/31. I bought 6 today and only received 1 Catalina.

The Catalina printed today at my Kroger in the Dallas area.

These are on sale at Fred Meyer for 2 for $3 and the catalina does print. Ends up being $.25 each, not free, but still a good deal.

Just tested the 4 at a time question at my Fred Meyers. It only printed one $1 Catalina.

I bought a bunch of these last week and didn’t get a Catalina. I’m in the Houston Area!

I tried this deal at my Kroger in the Richmond, VA area. I was supposed to get a $3 catalina for buying the California Pizza Kitchen pizzas (had $5 in IP Qs also) and the $1.00 catalina for buying the two Country Time Lemonades (used the $1.50/2 IP Q) and neither printed. I got three of the pizzas earlier in the week and the deal worked. I am guessing the catalina machine was not working properly and customer service said it may not have been. Customer service credited me $3 for the pizza deal and another $2 for a Q I forgot to give them and for a Q that I gave but it must not have scanned. (I always add up my Qs and check them against the receipt, just in case something does not come off). Kroger was really good about everything, but I did not ask about the lemonade deal as I didn’t have proof of the advertisement or anything to show them. The pizza deal was advertised on a catalina and I had a copy. I am guessing Kroger would have also given me that $1.00 as well. Anyone, know how to get the credit or have proof of it being advertised? I wish the weekly add advertised all catalinas, but they don’t. I would still love to get credit for this deal.

I bought 6 Country Time and no Catalina printed at Columbia, SC. : (

I bought 2 at Kroger in Atlanta. It only printed one $1 cat, but I talked to the store manager. He wrote a note on the cat that should allow me to redeem it for $2 on my next trip. This is the first time I haven’t gotten multiple cats from Kroger in the same order.

23 Heather May 30, 2009 at 10:17 am

I did not get the Catalina in Marietta, GA.

24 Melissa May 31, 2009 at 2:02 am

Well… I’ve tried them on the 29th at Smith’s here in Utah and it printed out $1 for every 2. Today I tried it again at the same store and nothing printed out. Tried two different registers. Odd…

My mom did this in Ottawa, IL (both stores) and they are on sale for $.99 each. She purchased 4 and only got one oyno coupon. She has $1 off coupons from a tear pad she found a week or so ago.

Is this working at Food 4 Less (a kroger affiliate)?

27 annie June 2, 2009 at 11:11 am

You have to buy 2 at a time my manager in Texas said. The sale was $10 for $10 so I had to do a complete buy again, but I got 5 $1.00 this go around. It started 5/29. Hope this helps. This sale is over today., I think.
The cats last longer. Annie
