Walgreens: Free Coffee-mate

by crystal on March 12, 2009

Coffee-mate-canada

Coffee-mate is on sale B1G1 at Walgreens this week (2 for $2.49). The $1.50/1 coupons here have been reset so print two (you might even be able to print four per computer by using your browser's back button!) and use two coupons for each two bottles of Coffee-mate you purchase and you'll get them both free, with possible overage!

There are also $1/1 coupons here which would make these $0.25 per bottle after the coupons and sale.

I've heard some Wal-Mart stores sell a smaller bottle of Coffee-mate for $1.50 so if you don't have a Walgreens nearby, you might check Wal-Mart.

Thanks, iMommies!

My Walgreens would not let me use both coupons, since I was getting one for “free”. I’ve heard of other cashiers pushing it through though..

Lacie March 12, 2009 at 11:42 am

I have heard rumors that Walmart doesn’t accept printables :( We got in on this deal at Walgreens yesterday!

*******************
Money Saving Mom here: Wal-Mart’s official coupon policy is to accept printables. See here:
http://walmartstores.com/7655.aspx

Hope that helps!

sally March 12, 2009 at 11:50 am

the same thing happed to me. they also would not acdcept 2 coupons and said it was “coupon fraud”

Carey March 12, 2009 at 11:58 am

My Walgreens won’t allow two coupons on a B1G1Free deal either. I had a long talk with the manager about it. She really is convinced that there’s something unethical about using a coupon on an item that’s already free. She didn’t understand that it’s all part of the manufacturer’s marketing strategy. It’s no different than using a coupon on a free-after-rebate item, yet they allow that! That’s why CVS gets much more of my business.

Bryan B. March 12, 2009 at 11:59 am

Yesterday when I did this deal, the register spit out a $0.75 coupon off coffee mate as well, so you could potentially make money from this deal.

Marion March 12, 2009 at 12:00 pm

My Walmart had them for $1.47 so they were free there. My Walgreens won’t take overage so it was easier to get them free at Walmart.

Becky March 12, 2009 at 12:01 pm

My cashier wouldn’t let me use two either. On the receipt the first one rings up $2.49, then the next rings up $0, so I think that’s why the system beeps. If you had a reasonable cashier, they would probably push it through. I didn’t. :)

Lori March 12, 2009 at 12:04 pm

The Walgreens in my area (Portland, OR) would not let me use both either. The register beeped and the cashiers were not willing to push it through, though I’ve had them do it with similar deals in the past. I actually went to three different stores this week to get diapers and none would do this deal. Hope others have better luck.

Jen P March 12, 2009 at 12:06 pm

Not refreshed for me… says I already printed it. I too was not able to use two coupons since one was free… bummer!

Courtney March 12, 2009 at 12:11 pm

The last time I did a B1G1 at Walgreens (the Ritz crackers), the second box rang up as $0.00 so the coupon I had ($2/2) beeped and wouldn’t go through. However, another Walgreens in my area has had other promotions ring up at regular price and then the full amount of the second one comes off. Does anyone know if this is a store-by-store decision or if some of the promotions are programmed into the computers differently?

Charlene March 12, 2009 at 12:21 pm

Print a copy of the policy and take it with you. I walked out on ovr $100 ogf groceries at Wal-mart once, then called back and spoke with a manager once I had the policy in hand. He verified with upper management then called me back and apologized. Keep it with you at all times!

laura March 12, 2009 at 12:22 pm

wouldn’t work for me, says I’ve already printed them (which was long ago).

Kacey March 12, 2009 at 12:26 pm

Thank you so much! I printed them today and will be picking up the creamer later. What a great deal.

Whitney March 12, 2009 at 12:32 pm

I love this post. Thank you. Coffee-Mate is all I use, and you just reminded me to brew some coffee today!! It’s been a while!! Thank you!

Julieann March 12, 2009 at 12:37 pm

Not reloaded for me either. The register wouldn’t let me use more than one coupon per two items either. It wasn’t the cashier this time, it was the register.

Jennifer March 12, 2009 at 12:39 pm

Yep, said I had already printed them too and it has been months.

Tammy March 12, 2009 at 12:44 pm

How fun to find your blog today! I’m bookmarking it since as a home school mom, I need all the money saving tips that I can! :)

The register beeped at first and the cashier said it wouldn’t go through and handed the coupon back. I asked her politely to please call her manager, which she did. The manager told her how to make it go through. And voila! The coffee mate creamers were mine! Wish I would have thought to see if I could have bought powdered instead though. Doh!

Diane March 12, 2009 at 12:57 pm

In TX, I only can use one coupon. They said the second one is free,so I can’t use two coupons.

carrie holmgren March 12, 2009 at 1:06 pm

tried printing the coupons but now it says ‘this campaign is over’… so :( I missed out.

Amy Green March 12, 2009 at 1:20 pm

I live in East Tn and the Walgreens I normally use allowed me to use both coupons, but with the BIGI Glade Sense and Sprays they won’t pay overages….:(

Lady Di March 12, 2009 at 1:23 pm

I’ll try this at my local WAGS & report back. Mom needed some so this is nice it it works. Had no problems at the one I frequent in the past. We shall see…

Wendy March 12, 2009 at 1:58 pm

I’m not a coffee drinker, so I was wondering if Coffee Mate is the same or similar to Cremora? I have a recipe that calls for Cremora and I have never known if I could switch them. I’d love to get in on this deal if they are similar! It’s a dry recipe for a hot chocolate mix if that makes any difference. Thanks!

Tracy H March 12, 2009 at 2:08 pm

I am VERY new to the drugstore thing and couponing. I went to walgreens for a couple of deals this week. The diapers and the coffeemate. Maybe it’s because I am so used to the AWESOME cashiers/customer service at CVS that I was totally disgusted by my Walgreens experience. I will have to be getting a SUPER DUPER deal to go back into that place. Thanks to CVS for being so great to their money saving customers! I was able to get the two coupons to work but the manager had to come over and the cashier was mean. And, I got jipped out of a RR that the sales person told me I was supposed to get. COUPON FRAUD!? I wish someone had said that to me!~ How awful!

Nicole March 12, 2009 at 2:17 pm

Not refreshed for me. It says I’ve already printed these. It’s been a long time ago.

Becka Church March 12, 2009 at 2:24 pm

In Midland, MI my Walgreens won’t let me use the second cpn either. I’ve tried daily with various cashiers and yet I still get the big “NO”. I seem to always have someone behind me so the cashiers get rushed and just want me out of there….bummer but boy have I been sweeping up the diaper deals.

Thanks for the blog…I follow daily even though some of the items are not in my area.

Lana March 12, 2009 at 3:06 pm

Able to print the $1 but not the $1.50. Last week the $1 was saying that the campaign was over. This site never makes sense to me but since I love the product I am thankful to print what I can.

Laura March 12, 2009 at 3:08 pm

My store didn’t have a problem using 2 coupons on a BOGO deal, but they still would not take the coupons because they were for more than the amount paid. They said they could not adjust the coupons down to the sale price.

Stephenie March 12, 2009 at 3:18 pm

Not sure where to let you know of this, but I came across a $2/1 Dry Idea Roll-On Deoderant via http://www.mypoints.com. I printed 2 out and had them on hand when I went to town today. Just so happened that those deoderants were on closeout for $2.29 each, so I got 2 for $0.58! Just thought I’d let your readers and you know! I was excited to “happen” upon this great deal!

Anita March 12, 2009 at 3:25 pm

I read on another blog that the reason the 1.50/1 coupon beeps is because though it says 1.50/1 , it is actually coded as 1.50/2! I gave my cashier two coupons and she just gave one back and apologized saying I could only use one. That was fine though. I didn’t want to waste her time over 1.50. I’ll be using the 1.00/1 coupons to get them for cheap. Not everything needs to be free. Cheap is good too!

marie March 12, 2009 at 3:30 pm

i just kept hitting the back button and printed four of them.

Lady Di March 12, 2009 at 3:33 pm

I could only use 1 coupon, oop .99 for 2. Still not bad. Then I did get the .75 one but it’s for 3. So off to my other WAGs and I did the 3fer and 2 coupons $1 each and made out like a bandit. THANKS!!

PS – French Vanilla, Hazelnut & Peppermint Mocha were the only options between the 2 stores.

Jill March 12, 2009 at 3:33 pm

Your link it to $1.50/2 or $1.00/1
I printed them, and I have been having ALOT of trouble @ Walgreens recently, so I may just try Walmart ….
Walgreens makes me feel BAD for using coupons.

Cindy March 12, 2009 at 3:54 pm

I just returned from my local Walgreens and they wouldn’t take 2 coupons either. But it was still a deal to get for 2 of them for $1.

Our local Walmart doesn’t accept printed internet coupons, the manager said it was because of some people comitting fraud with them. He said every Walmart has the right to deny them

Jenelle March 12, 2009 at 4:19 pm

Booo….looks like mine is not reset. Oh well. Enjoy your coffee!

Kristen E March 12, 2009 at 4:22 pm

Thanks, even if I cant get them FREE I will be happy. My husband uses these in his herbal tea and it tastes really good. He drinks Chai Roabos with amaretto creamer. SO good!!! THanks!!!

Joy Zarate March 12, 2009 at 4:40 pm

Mine doesn’t seem to be reset. :( I still have some from another store though.

Jennie March 12, 2009 at 4:51 pm

My WAGS (2 close by) were OUT of them. I tried both stores TWICE. Our Meijer had a comparable sized bottle for $1.67, so I used my coupons there.

Nicole March 12, 2009 at 5:14 pm

My Wags wouldn’t let me use the second coupon either. Still a pretty good deal if you like the stuff. :)

Nathan March 12, 2009 at 5:21 pm

Great site. Just wish there was a UK version.

Stephenie March 12, 2009 at 6:43 pm

I shop at Walgreens in Dayton, TN and the cashiers and Manager (the one I have spoken to a couple of times) there that I have dealt with have always been super awesome! I was sure to let that manager know how pleased I was with their service! When a RR didn’t print out on a previous visit, she refunded me the RR in cash!

Kim61973 March 12, 2009 at 6:58 pm

So, I think if you are ok with just getting them free – $2.49 BOGO – use 1 for $1.50 and 1 for $1.00 – and do it several times, right? :)

Laura March 12, 2009 at 8:03 pm

This is the 3rd or 4th time lately that there has been discussion of a sale at Walgreens, but when I go to the Walgreens in my area, the item is not on sale. It’s not in the ad from Sunday either. Is anyone else experiencing this? I’m in the Colorado Springs area.

Thanks!

Rachel March 12, 2009 at 9:49 pm

Weird how it’s reset for some people and not all of us. I havent’ printed this coupon for a couple months…at least…

Leslie March 12, 2009 at 10:07 pm

I was wondering if anyone has any advice, lately I’ve been having horrible trouble with the managers at Walgreens, On the garnier deal I was told they had limited the deal to six per person but if I came back during the middle of the week, I could buy six more, when I returned tonight I was told they had lowered the limit even more now down to three, Everytime I try to use coupons at Walgreens
I’m treated like they don’t even want my business, I was also told I was commiting fraud by stacking coupons? How do I handle this? the managers are making up the rules as they go?

Katie Ruschman March 12, 2009 at 11:00 pm

Would not let me use two coupons tonight. I live in northern KY.

Selena March 13, 2009 at 7:35 am

I had the same trouble this week at Walgreens and I never have before! I think they are starting to get panicky about how much people are saving and how much they are not making! I also couldn’t use all the coupons on the Sense and Spray BOGO coupons for the same reasons everyone said. I just didn’t get them. The store manager had to come over and he got out the printed coupon policy for the store and went through it on each of my questions. He did adjust 3 coupons down for me which was nice, but I’m not as excited to shop there as I used to be. I agree, Walgreens makes me feel BAD for using coupons now!

Leah March 13, 2009 at 10:31 am

Does anyone know if you can freeze the liquid creamer Coffee-mate? I would like to buy some to stock up, but I don’t want to do so if it won’t freeze well.

Jamie March 13, 2009 at 12:55 pm

I purchased 4 coffee mates and was only able to use 3 coupons. I’m still not quite sure how I got my total. I also purchased a colgate advanced on sale but they wouldn’t take my manuf. coupon. My total was .48 plus .53 in tax. only 1.01 total. still not bad considering they wouln’t take 2 coupons (2.50 total). The only flavor my walgreen’s had on sale was the vanilla. The hazelnut wasn’t on sale.

Priscilla March 13, 2009 at 3:12 pm

I thought about trying (freezing it) but haven’t since on the package it says not to freeze it.

Lady Di March 13, 2009 at 3:14 pm

Definitely check your expiration dates as I picked up one in WAGS that was expiring on the 16th. I went over to Wal-mart and paid about .16 for Italian Sweet Cream. GREAT to me and I will be using it in tea not coffee.

Toni March 13, 2009 at 4:09 pm

Walgreens would not take the coupons on the free items. Was disappointed because i thought i was getting a deal :) So, I could only use 2 q’s on 4 bottles. The register beeped but was hoping she would push them through because she didn’t know why. She didn’t.

amy March 13, 2009 at 5:25 pm

At my walgreens I gave 2 coupons and 2nd beebed BUT the cashier said it was coded to take the $1.50 of each of them, total of $3. I checked my receipt later and it did. I only had to hand ONE over and got the -$1.50 applied to both. Kinda like how the ESQ’s take the $$ off each item, but you only need 1Q, hope that makes sense.

julie March 13, 2009 at 10:32 pm

These were not on sale in the Detroit area either as far as I could tell. It was not in the sale paper and there was no signage on the product aisle. I guess I will try Wal-mart.

julie March 13, 2009 at 10:35 pm

These are on sale at Meijer next week for $1.50 for those of us who did not get the sale at WAGS.

Priscilla March 14, 2009 at 2:12 am

The 1st Coffee-mate coupon for 1.50 went through okay but the 2nd one didn’t. So, for the 2nd item, I had her try a 50 cent off manf. coupon from the paper/inserts….but that one also didn’t work. I didn’t mind…paying 50 cents each, still a great deal & I kept the 2 coupons that beeped for the 2nd Coffee-mate.

Stephanie March 14, 2009 at 5:45 am

In response to a PP, when I made hot chocolate mix a few years back, it called for powedered creamer. I used coffeemate and it was wonderful. I would think you could switch them if Cremora is also a powered creamer; I’ve never heard of it.

cheapMama March 14, 2009 at 11:06 am

Laura, I’m in Colo Spgs too- I wonder if they are still on sale even though there is no signage to say so???? Any ideas, ladies?

Rachel March 14, 2009 at 4:41 pm

I too, had a bad experience at Walgreens. They wouldn’t let me use 2 $1.50/1 coupons at Walgreens for the coffeemate. My cashier wouldn’t even ring it! The point was that maybe the coupon didn’t work, but she was just plain rude. I also had a coupon for bandaids ($1/1) and they were on clearance for .82…wouldn’t let me use it (again, she didn’t even scan it) even though I had other items (red barron pizza) I had overage…so I’m not sure what to think about Walgreens either!
