A number of varieties of Post cereals are on sale this week at most Albertson's stores around the country for $1.57 per box when you buy two. Albertson's also currently has a catalina deal running where if you buy five boxes of Post cereal, you'll receive a coupon for $5 off your next order. There were also $1/2 Post cereal coupons in the 3/1 and 3/29 SmartSource inserts.
So, here's how you can work this into a really sweet deal:
Buy 5 boxes of Post cereal (select varieties only)
Use 2 $1/2 coupons
Spend $6.35 plus tax out of pocket
Get a $5 catalina back
$0.17 per box of cereal after the sale, coupons, and catalina!
The best news? You can roll this deal multiple times. Meaning, you can use the $5 catalina you earn on your first order, to go back and buy five more boxes of cereal at this price. This will make your out-of-pocket expense even lower and you'll get back another $5 catalina!
Even without the coupons, the sale price and the catalina deal make these cereals $0.67 per box–which is a great deal!

Money Saving Mom here: Yes, you definitely could, if this is not limited to one per order. However, I’ve found with catalinas that it’s sometimes safer to only do one per transaction as it seems sometimes they have trouble printing otherwise.
If folks here try it, though, report back and let us know how it goes!
Now I’m afraid to try it for risk that my catalina wouldnt print out. Youre right, I’ll stick with 5 at a time until someone reports different. I’m a big chicken!
Jewel here in Chicagoland has the Post for 2/$4. I figured out the best deals if you have enough coupons (do it more often if your Jewel takes expireds):
* Buy 3 = $6; Use $1/2 and $.55 coupon; Receive $1 CAT; Cost after Qs and CATS: $3.45 ($1.15 each)
* Buy 4 = $8; Use 2 $1/2; Receive $3 CAT; Cost after Qs and CATS: $3 ($.75 each)
* Buy 5 = $10; Use 2 $1/2 and one $.55 coupon; Receive $5 CAT; Cost after Qs and CATS: $2.45 ($.49 each)
Our Shaw’s has post cereal on sale 2/$3 and with the $1/2 coupon makes them $1 a box. Not too bad since Shaws is not doing the catalina.

I would love to take advantage of this great deal, however, all of the Albertson’s in my area (NW FL) have now become Publix. I have no idea what “catalinas” are and I don’t think any of the stores here participate. We have Winn-Dixie, Publix, Food World, Wal-Mart and Target. No Super Target though. I just try to get the best deals I can.
Online, our Albertson’s has the cereal 2/$5, so it’s probably a good idea to check your store’s price first before trying this deal.
I checked the store in Tyler, TX, but the cheapest cereal is 2/$6, so not a great day. I wish we had the good price. If the catalina goes for a few weeks, maybe our store will mark down the cereal in the coming weeks.
I’m bummed cause I see them at 2/$5 on the online ad for my area.

Best deal was 1.88 for select General Mills cereals (Lucky Charms, Trix), but no Post was on sale. I used a $1 GM coupon, so that was the best I could do!
Just purchased several boxes here in Oregon and was told they would ring them up four at a time and take off the 3.00 catalina as a coupon at the time of purchase (rather than giving it to me for my next purchase). They said that was the only catalina combination that worked for this deal. Still can’t beat the price at .88 a box without coupons!
Our Albertsons had the cereals for the great price and the catalinas too. Worked great the first time I did it, then I went back later and no catalina printed. They told me you can only get one catalina per day! Must be a new policy in our area. Still it was a good buy.

In my area (Salt Lake City, Utah) Post cereals are on sale $1.57 a box when you purchase 2. Single purchase price is $2.07. If you go to http://www.postcereals.com/trailmixcrunch/ there is a $2/1 printable. It says you can print it off twice, but I was able to print 5. When my store stocks back up on Trail Mix Crunch, I will use all 5 coupons to get the cereal for $0.07 a box, or hopefully free if 4 of them ring up as $1.57 and hopefully still get a catalina. According to pinchingyourpennies.com, the catalinas should be as Louise mentioned above. Sale prices end April 7. If this works, I will post it on my blog:

I did the deal at albertsons today in southern california and got 5 cereals using 2 of the $1/2 coupons and the $2 trail mix crunch coupon. Then the register took off an additional $2.20 and said buy 2 post save $1 on my receipt. Not sure what that was, but I paid $1.65 out of pocket for the 5 boxes and got the $5 catalina and a $1.50/2 trail mix crunch catalina too. So they paid me $3.35 for those cereals!!!
